1 And all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah.	1 Todo el pueblo de Judá tomó a Ozías, que tenía dieciséis años, y lo proclamaron rey en lugar de su padre Amasías.
2 He built Eloth and restored it to Judah, after the king slept with his fathers.	2 El fue quien reconstruyó Elat y la recuperó para Judá después de la muerte del rey.
3 Uzziah was sixteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.	3 Ozías tenía dieciséis años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó cincuenta y dos años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Jecolías, y era de Jerusalén.
4 And he did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.	4 El hizo lo que es recto a los ojos del Señor, tal como lo había hecho su padre Amasías.
5 He set himself to seek God in the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God; and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper.	5 Buscó a Dios durante la vida de Zacarías, que lo había instruido en el temor de Dios, y mientras buscó al Señor, Dios lo hizo prosperar.
6 He went out and made war against the Philistines, and broke down the wall of Gath and the wall of Jabneh and the wall of Ashdod; and he built cities in the territory of Ashdod and elsewhere among the Philistines.	6 Ozías salió a combatir contra los filisteos y derribó las murallas de Gat, de Iabné y de Asdod. Después construyó fortalezas en Asdod y en la región de los filisteos.
7 God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabs that dwelt in Gurbaal, and against the Me-unites.	7 Dios lo ayudó contra los filisteos, contra los árabes que habitaban en Gur Baal y contra los meonitas.
8 The Ammonites paid tribute to Uzziah, and his fame spread even to the border of Egypt, for he became very strong.	8 Los amonitas le pagaban tributo, y su fama se extendió hasta las fronteras de Egipto, porque se había hecho muy poderoso.
9 Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the Corner Gate and at the Valley Gate and at the Angle, and fortified them.	9 Además, construyó torres en Jerusalén, en la puerta del Angulo, en la puerta del Valle y en la Esquina, y las fortificó.
10 And he built towers in the wilderness, and hewed out many cisterns, for he had large herds, both in the Shephelah and in the plain, and he had farmers and vinedressers in the hills and in the fertile lands, for he loved the soil.	10 También construyó torres en el desierto y abrió muchas cisternas, porque tenía abundante ganado en la llanura y en la meseta. Tenía además labradores y viñadores en las montañas y en los viñedos, ya que era amante de la agricultura.
11 Moreover Uzziah had an army of soldiers, fit for war, in divisions according to the numbers in the muster made by Je-iel the secretary and Ma-aseiah the officer, under the direction of Hananiah, one of the king's commanders.	11 Ozías tenía un ejército equipado para la guerra y pronto para salir en campaña, agrupados según el censo realizado por el escriba Ieiel y el secretario Maaseías. Este ejército estaba a las órdenes de Jananías, uno de los oficiales del rey.
12 The whole number of the heads of fathers' houses of mighty men of valor was two thousand six hundred.	12 Los jefes de familia que estaban al frente de soso guerreros valerosos sumaban en total dos mil seiscientos.
13 Under their command was an army of three hundred and seven thousand five hundred, who could make war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.	13 Estos tenían bajo su mando un ejército de trescientos siete mil quinientos soldados, capacitados para ayudar valientemente al rey contra sus enemigos.
14 And Uzziah prepared for all the army shields, spears, helmets, coats of mail, bows, and stones for slinging.	14 Ozías proveyó a todo este ejército de escudos, lanzas, cascos, corazas, arcos y hondas.
15 In Jerusalem he made engines, invented by skilful men, to be on the towers and the corners, to shoot arrows and great stones. And his fame spread far, for he was marvelously helped, till he was strong.	15 Además, mandó construir en Jerusalén máquinas de guerra ideadas por expertos, para ser colocadas sobre las torres y los ángulos, a fin de arrojar flechas y grandes piedras. Su fama se extendió hasta muy lejos, porque con la ayuda extraordinaria de Dios llegó a hacerse fuerte.
16 But when he was strong he grew proud, to his destruction. For he was false to the LORD his God, and entered the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.	16 Pero cuando se hizo fuerte, su corazón se ensoberbeció hasta pervertirse, y se rebeló contra el Señor, su Dios, entrando en el Templo del Señor para ofrecer incienso sobre el altar de los perfumes.
17 But Azariah the priest went in after him, with eighty priests of the LORD who were men of valor;	17 Detrás de él entró el sacerdote Azarías con otros ochenta sacerdotes del Señor, hombres valerosos,
18 and they withstood King Uzziah, and said to him, "It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD, but for the priests the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense. Go out of the sanctuary; for you have done wrong, and it will bring you no honor from the LORD God."	18 los cuales se opusieron al rey Ozías, diciéndole: «Ozías, no te corresponde a ti ofrecer incienso al Señor, sino a los sacerdotes hijos de Aarón, que han sido consagrados para quemar el incienso. Aléjate del Santuario, porque te has rebelado, y eso no será para ti un título de gloria a los ojos del Señor Dios».
19 Then Uzziah was angry. Now he had a censer in his hand to burn incense, and when he became angry with the priests leprosy broke out on his forehead, in the presence of the priests in the house of the LORD, by the altar of incense.	19 Ozías, que tenía el incensario en la mano para ofrecer el incienso, se enfureció contra los sacerdotes. Pero en ese mismo momento le brotó lepra en su frente, delante de los sacerdotes, en el Templo del Señor, junto al altar de los perfumes.
20 And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked at him, and behold, he was leprous in his forehead! And they thrust him out quickly, and he himself hastened to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.	20 El Sumo Sacerdote Azarías y todos los demás sacerdotes, al volverse hacia él, vieron que tenía lepra en la frente. Entonces lo expulsaron de allí, y él mismo se apresuró a salir porque el Señor lo había herido.
21 And King Uzziah was a leper to the day of his death, and being a leper dwelt in a separate house, for he was excluded from the house of the LORD. And Jotham his son was over the king's household, governing the people of the land.	21 El rey Ozías quedó leproso hasta el día de su muerte. Tuvo que habitar en una casa apartada, porque estaba excluido de la Casa del Señor a causa de su lepra. Su hijo Jotam estaba al frente del palacio real y gobernaba a todo el pueblo del país.
22 Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, from first to last, Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz wrote.	22 El resto de los hechos de Ozías, desde el comienzo hasta el fin, fue escrito por el profeta Isaías, hijo de Amós.
23 And Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the burial field which belonged to the kings, for they said, "He is a leper." And Jotham his son reigned in his stead.	23 Ozías se fue a descansar con sus padres, y lo sepultaron con ellos en el campo adyacente a la sepultura de los reyes, porque dijeron: «Es un leproso». Su hijo Jotam reinó en lugar de él.
