2 Kings 25

1 And in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came with all his army against Jerusalem, and laid siege to it; and they built siegeworks against it round about.	1 (Or) La neuvième année du règne de Sédécias, le dixième jour du dixième mois, Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, marcha avec toute son armée contre Jérusalem, et mit le siège devant la ville, et y fit des retranchements tout autour ;
2 So the city was besieged till the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.	2 et la ville fut enfermée et entourée de circonvallations jusqu'à la onzième année du roi Sédécias,
3 On the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land.	3 et au neuvième jour du mois. Et la famine régna dans la ville, et il n'y avait pas de pain pour le peuple.
4 Then a breach was made in the city; the king with all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, by the king's garden, though the Chaldeans were around the city. And they went in the direction of the Arabah.	4 Et une brèche fut faite, et tous les gens de guerre s'enfuirent la nuit par le chemin de la porte qui est entre les deux murailles, près du jardin du roi, pendant que les Chaldéens étaient occupés au siège tout autour. Sédécias s'enfuit donc par le chemin qui mène aux plaines du désert.
5 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king, and overtook him in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.	5 Et l'armée des Chaldéens poursuivit le roi et le prit dans la plaine de Jéricho ; et tous les guerriers qui étaient avec lui furent dispersés et l'abandonnèrent.
6 Then they captured the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah, who passed sentence upon him.	6 Ayant donc pris le roi, ils le conduisirent au roi de Babylone à Réblatha, et le roi de Babylone prononça son arrêt.
7 They slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him in fetters, and took him to Babylon.	7 Et il tua les fils de Sédécias devant lui, et il lui creva les yeux, le chargea de chaînes, et l'emmena à Babylone.
8 In the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month--which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon--Nebuzaradan, the captain of the bodyguard, a servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.	8 La dix-neuvième année de Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, le septième jour du cinquième mois, Nabuzardan, serviteur du roi de Babylone et général de son (chef d') armée, vint à Jérusalem.
9 And he burned the house of the LORD, and the king's house and all the houses of Jerusalem; every great house he burned down.	9 Et il brûla la maison du Seigneur, et le palais du roi ; il consuma par le feu tout ce qu'il y avait de maisons dans Jérusalem.
10 And all the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down the walls around Jerusalem.	10 Toute l'armée des Chaldéens qui était avec ce général (chef de soldats) abattit les murailles de Jérusalem ;
11 And the rest of the people who were left in the city and the deserters who had deserted to the king of Babylon, together with the rest of the multitude, Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried into exile.	11 et Nabuzardan, général de l'armée, transporta à Babylone tout le reste du peuple qui était demeuré dans la ville, les transfuges qui avaient fui vers le roi de Babylone, et le reste de la foule (du bas peuple).
12 But the captain of the guard left some of the poorest of the land to be vinedressers and plowmen.	12 Il laissa seulement les (plus) pauvres du pays pour labourer les vignes et pour cultiver les champs.
13 And the pillars of bronze that were in the house of the LORD, and the stands and the bronze sea that were in the house of the LORD, the Chaldeans broke in pieces, and carried the bronze to Babylon.	13 Et les Chaldéens brisèrent les colonnes d'airain qui étaient dans le temple du Seigneur (et les bases, et la mer d'airain qui était dans la maison du Seigneur), et ils en transportèrent tout l'airain à Babylone.
14 And they took away the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the dishes for incense and all the vessels of bronze used in the temple service,	14 Ils prirent aussi les chaudières (marmites) d'airain, les coupes, les fourchettes, les tasses (pelles), les (petits) mortiers, et tous les objets d'airain qui servaient au temple.
15 the firepans also, and the bowls. What was of gold the captain of the guard took away as gold, and what was of silver, as silver.	15 Le général de l'armée (prince de la milice) prit aussi les encensoirs et les coupes (patères) ; tout ce qui était d'or à part, et tout ce qui était d'argent à part,
16 As for the two pillars, the one sea, and the stands, which Solomon had made for the house of the LORD, the bronze of all these vessels was beyond weight.	16 avec les deux colonnes, la mer, et les bases que Salomon avait faites pour le temple du Seigneur ; et le poids de l'airain de tous ces objets était infini (il n'y avait pas de poids pour l'airain de tous ses vases).
17 The height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits, and upon it was a capital of bronze; the height of the capital was three cubits; a network and pomegranates, all of bronze, were upon the capital round about. And the second pillar had the like, with the network.	17 Chacune de ces colonnes avait dix-huit coudées de haut, et sur elles était un chapiteau d'airain de trois coudées de haut ; et un réseau et des grenades sur le chapiteau, le tout en airain ; la seconde colonne avait les mêmes ornements.
18 And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold;	18 Le général de l'armée (prince de la milice) emmena aussi le grand (premier) prêtre Saraïas, et Sophonie le second prêtre, et (les) trois portiers,
19 and from the city he took an officer who had been in command of the men of war, and five men of the king's council who were found in the city; and the secretary of the commander of the army who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land who were found in the city.	19 et un eunuque de la ville, qui commandait les gens de guerre, et cinq de ceux (hommes) qui se tenaient devant le roi, qu'il trouva dans la ville ; et Sopher, l'un des chefs (le prince) de l'armée, qui exerçait les jeunes soldats qu'on avait pris d'entre le peuple, et soixante hommes du (bas) peuple, qui se trouvèrent alors dans la ville.
20 And Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah.	20 Nabuzardan, général de l'armée (chef des soldats), les prit et les emmena au roi de Babylone à Réblatha.
21 And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was taken into exile out of its land.	21 Et le roi de Babylone les fit tous mourir à Réblatha, au pays d'Emath, et (ainsi) Juda fut transféré hors de son pays.
22 And over the people who remained in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, he appointed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, governor.	22 Mais Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, mit à la tête du peuple qui était resté en Juda Godolias, fils d'Ahicam, fils de Saphan.
23 Now when all the captains of the forces in the open country and their men heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah governor, they came with their men to Gedaliah at Mizpah, namely, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Ja-azaniah the son of the Ma-acathite.	23 Lorsque les chefs des soldats et les hommes qui étaient avec eux eurent appris que le roi de Babylone avait établi Godolias (gouverneur), Ismaël, fils de Nathanias, et Johanan, fils de Carée, et Saraïa, fils de Thanéhumeth, de Nétophath (Nétophathite), et Jézonias, fils de Maachathi, vinrent trouver Godolias à Maspha avec leurs compagnons.
24 And Gedaliah swore to them and their men, saying, "Do not be afraid because of the Chaldean officials; dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you."	24 Et Godolias prêta serment à eux et à leurs compagnons, en disant : Ne craignez pas de servir les Chaldéens ; demeurez dans le pays, et servez le roi de Babylone, et tout ira bien pour vous.
25 But in the seventh month, Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, son of Elishama, of the royal family, came with ten men, and attacked and killed Gedaliah and the Jews and the Chaldeans who were with him at Mizpah.	25 Mais (Or) il arriva que, le septième mois, Ismaël, fils de Nathanias, fils d'Elisama, de la race royale, vint à Maspha, accompagné de dix hommes ; et ils frappèrent Godolias, et le tuèrent, ainsi que les Juifs et les Chaldéens qui étaient avec lui.
26 Then all the people, both small and great, and the captains of the forces arose, and went to Egypt; for they were afraid of the Chaldeans.	26 Et tout le peuple, depuis le plus grand jusqu'au plus petit, et les chefs des soldats, redoutant les Chaldéens, se levèrent et vinrent en Egypte.
27 And in the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, graciously freed Jehoiachin king of Judah from prison;	27 Mais la trente-septième année de la captivité de Joachin, roi de Juda, le vingt-septième jour du douzième mois, Evil-Mérodach, roi de Babylone, l'année où il commença à régner, releva la tête de Joachin, roi de Juda, et le tira de prison.
28 and he spoke kindly to him, and gave him a seat above the seats of the kings who were with him in Babylon.	28 Et il lui parla avec bonté, et mit son trône au-dessus du trône des rois qui étaient auprès de lui à Babylone.
29 So Jehoiachin put off his prison garments. And every day of his life he dined regularly at the king's table;	29 Il lui fit quitter les vêtements qu'il avait eus dans sa prison, et manger (du pain) à sa table tous les jours de sa vie.
30 and for his allowance, a regular allowance was given him by the king, every day a portion, as long as he lived.	30 Et il lui assigna sans interruption une subsistance, qui lui était donnée chaque jour par le roi, tant qu'il vécut.
