Lettera ai Filippesi 4

1 - Per conseguenza, o fratelli miei cari e desideratissimi, allegrezza e corona mia rimanete così fermi nel Signore, o carissimi.	1 And so, my most beloved and most desired brothers, my joy and my crown: stand firm in this way, in the Lord, most beloved.
2 Io esorto Evodìa ed esorto Sintìche ad avere gli stessi sentimenti nel Signore;	2 I ask Euodia, and I beg Syntyche, to have the same understanding in the Lord.
3 e scongiuro anche te, o vero compagno, porgi aiuto a costoro che con me combatterono insieme per il Vangelo; assieme anche con Clemente, e gli altri miei cooperatori, i cui nomi son nel libro della vita.	3 And I also ask you, as my genuine companion, to assist those women who have labored with me in the Gospel, with Clement and the rest of my assistants, whose names are in the Book of Life.
4 Siate lieti sempre nel Signore; lo ripeto, siate lieti.	4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I say, rejoice.
5 La vostra modestia sia nota a tutti gli uomini; il Signore è vicino.	5 Let your modesty be known to all men. The Lord is near.
6 Non angustiatevi di nulla, ma in ogni cosa siano manifestate le vostre domande a Dio, con preghiere e suppliche, accompagnate da rendimento di grazie.	6 Be anxious about nothing. But in all things, with prayer and supplication, with acts of thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God.
7 E la pace di Dio che sorpassa ogni intendimento, custodirà i vostri cuori e i vostri pensieri in Cristo Gesù.	7 And so shall the peace of God, which exceeds all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Del resto, o fratelli, tutte le cose che son vere, tutte le cose degne, tutte le cose giuste, tutte le cose pure, tutte le cose amabili, tutto quel che è di buona fama, se v'è qualche virtù e qualche lode, a questo pensate:	8 Concerning the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is chaste, whatever is just, whatever is holy, whatever is worthy to be loved, whatever is of good repute, if there is any virtue, if there is any praiseworthy discipline: meditate on these.
9 e quel che avete imparato e ricevuto e udito e visto in me, fatelo: e il Dio della pace sarà con voi.	9 All the things that you have learned and accepted and heard and seen in me, do these. And so shall the God of peace be with you.
10 Mi sono poi grandemente rallegrato nel Signore, che finalmente siete rifioriti nel pensare a me; ci pensavate sì, ma vi mancava l'occasione di manifestarlo.	10 Now I rejoice in the Lord exceedingly, because finally, after some time, your feelings for me have flourished again, just as you formerly felt. For you had been preoccupied.
11 Non che io parli così per rispetto alla penuria in cui mi trovo, perchè io ho imparato a bastare a me con le cose che mi trovo ad avere.	11 I am not saying this as if out of need. For I have learned that, in whatever state I am, it is sufficient.
12 So anche esser povero, e so essere ricco, (in tutto e per tutto mi sono abituato), e ad essere sazio e ad aver fame, a nuotar nell'abbondanza e a patir nelle privazioni.	12 I know how to be humbled, and I know how to abound. I am prepared for anything, anywhere: either to be full or to be hungry, either to have abundance or to endure scarcity.
13 Ogni cosa io posso in Colui che mi dà forza.	13 Everything is possible in him who has strengthened me.
14 Però avete fatto bene a prender parte alle mie tribolazioni.	14 Yet truly, you have done well by sharing in my tribulation.
15 Sapete bene anche voi, o Filippesi, che al principio della predicazione evangelica, quando venni via dalla Macedonia, nessuna chiesa ebbe con me comunione di conto del dare e del ricevere, eccetto voi soli,	15 But you also know, O Philippians, that at the beginning of the Gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not a single church shared with me in the plan of giving and receiving, except you alone.
16 poichè anche a Tessalonica e una volta e due volte avete spedito per i miei bisogni.	16 For you even sent to Thessalonica, once, and then a second time, for what was useful to me.
17 Non che io cerchi il dono, ma cerco il frutto abbondante pel conto vostro.	17 It is not that I am seeking a gift. Instead, I seek the fruit that abounds to your benefit.
18 Or io ho tutto ricevuto e sono nell'abbondanza; e fui provvisto avendo ricevuto da Epafrodito ciò che mi veniva da voi, odore di soavità, ostia accetta, gradita a Dio.	18 But I have everything in abundance. I have been filled up, having received from Epaphroditus the things that you sent; this is an odor of sweetness, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
19 E il mio Dio sazierà tutti i vostri bisogni, secondo la sua ricchezza, e gloriosamente in Cristo Gesù.	19 And may my God fulfill all your desires, according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
20 A Dio nostro Padre sia gloria nei secoli. Amen.	20 And to God our Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
21 Salutate ognuno dei santi in Cristo Gesù.	21 Greet every saint in Christ Jesus.
22 Voi salutano i fratelli che son con me. E vi salutano tutti i santi, massime quelli della casa di Cesare.	22 The brothers who are with me greet you. All the saints greet you, but especially those who are of Caesar’s household.
23 La grazia del Signore Gesù Cristo sia con lo spirito vostro!	23 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
