2 Timothy 4

1 I testify before God, and before Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead through his return and his kingdom:	1 Io testimonio dinanzi a Dio e a Iesù Cristo il quale dee giudicare li vivi e li morti, (e dico) per il suo avvenimento e per il suo regno,
2 that you should preach the word urgently, in season and out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke, with all patience and doctrine.	2 che tu prèdichi la parola di Dio; sta perseverantemente nella predicazione e arditamente; riprendi, priega e castiga con ogni pazienza, con ogni ammaestramento.
3 For there shall be a time when they will not endure sound doctrine, but instead, according to their own desires, they will gather to themselves teachers, with itching ears,	3 Chè verrà tempo, che non vorranno sostenere (di udire) la sana (e pura) dottrina; anzi trovaranno e raguneranno a sè maestri e ingannatori,
4 and certainly, they will turn their hearing away from the truth, and they will be turned toward fables.	4 li quali faranno partire altrui dalla verità, e rivolgerannosi alle favole.
5 But as for you, truly, be vigilant, laboring in all things. Do the work of an Evangelist, fulfilling your ministry. Show self-restraint.	5 Ma tu veglia, e in tutte le cose lavora, e fa opera di evangelista (e predicatore); compi il tuo servizio che dèi fare, e sii temperato.
6 For I am already being worn away, and the time of my dissolution presses close.	6 Chè io già mi parto; il tempo della mia fine è presso.
7 I have fought the good fight. I have completed the course. I have preserved the faith.	7 Di buono combattimento ho combattuto; il mio corso abbo consumato (e compiuto); la fede ho guardata.
8 As for the remainder, a crown of justice has been reserved for me, one which the Lord, the just judge, will render to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to those who look forward to his return. Hurry to return to me soon.	8 Oggi mai m' è riposta la corona della giustizia, la quale il Signore renderà in quel dì, sì come giusto giudice; e non solamente a me, ma a tutti quelli che amano il suo avvenimento. Studiati di venire a me presto.
9 For Demas has abandoned me, out of love for this age, and he has departed for Thessalonica.	9 Chè Demas m' ha abbandonato, amando questo secolo, e andò in Tessalonica.
10 Crescens has gone to Galatia; Titus to Dalmatia.	10 E Crescenzio andò in Galazia; Tito in Dalmazia.
11 Luke alone is with me. Take Mark and bring him with you; for he is useful to me in the ministry.	11 E Luca solo è rimaso meco. Prendi Marco, e menalo teco; chè egli m' è utile nel servizio.
12 But Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.	12 Io hoe mandato Tichico in Efeso.
13 When you return, bring with you the supplies that I left with Carpus at Troas, and the books, but especially the parchments.	13 Il vestimento, il quale lasciai in Troade in casa di Carpo, vegnendo recalo teco, e i libri, e specialmente le carte.
14 Alexander the coppersmith has shown me much evil; the Lord will repay him according to his works.	14 Alessandro confiscatore molto male m'ha dimostrato; il Signore renderà a lui secondo l'opere sue.
15 And you should also avoid him; for he has strongly resisted our words.	15 Il quale tu schifa (e non abbi usanza con colui); chè molto resistette (e contradisse) alle mie parole.
16 At my first defense, no one stood by me, but everyone abandoned me. May it not be counted against them!	16 Nella prima mia defensione (alla Corte) niuno fu meco, anzi mi abbandonarono tutti; non sia reputato loro a pena.
17 But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the preaching would be accomplished, and so that all the Gentiles would hear. And I was freed from the mouth of the lion.	17 Ma il Signore fu meco, e confortommi che per me la predicazione sia adempiuta e tutte le genti odano (e intendano la predicazione di Dio); e così sono liberato dalla bocca del leone.
18 The Lord has freed me from every evil work, and he will accomplish salvation by his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen.	18 Chè Dio m' ha scampato d'ogni male, farammi salvo nel suo regno celestiale; al qual sia gloria nel secolo de' secoli. Amen.
19 Greet Prisca, and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.	19 Salutami Prisca e Aquila, e tutti coloro della casa d' Onesiforo.
20 Erastus remained at Corinth. And Trophimus I left sick at Miletus.	20 Erasto rimase a Corinto; e Trofimo lasciai infermo a Mileto.
21 Hurry to arrive before winter. Eubulus, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brothers greet you.	21 Stùdiati di venire inanzi il verno. Ti salutano Eubulo e Prudente e Lino e Claudia e tutti gli altri fratelli (in Iesù Cristo).
22 May the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. May grace be with you. Amen.	22 Sia con il spirito tuo il Signore Iesù Cristo. La grazia (del nostro Signore Iesù Cristo) sia con voi. Amen.
