2 God is a rival, and the Lord is avenging. The Lord is avenging, and one who applies wrath. The Lord is avenging with his enemies, and he becomes angry with his adversaries.	2 Le Seigneur est un Dieu jaloux et qui se venge. Le Seigneur se venge, et il éprouve de la fureur ; le Seigneur se venge de ses ennemis, et il s'irrite contre ses adversaires.
3 The Lord is patient and great in strength, and those who are not clean, he makes innocent. The Lord is in a tempest, and his way is a whirlwind, and the clouds are dust at his feet.	3 Le Seigneur est patient et grand en puissance, et il ne laisse pas impuni (pur et innocent le coupable). Le Seigneur marche dans la tempête et le tourbillon, et les nuages sont la poussière de ses pieds.
4 He is the one who rebukes the sea, and who dries it up, and who leads all the rivers to the desert. Basan has been weakened, and also Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon has languished.	4 Il menace (gourmande) la mer et la dessèche, et il change tous les fleuves en désert. (Le) Basan et le Carmel se flétrissent (ont langui), et la fleur du Liban se fane.
5 The mountains have trembled before him, and the hills have become desolate, and the earth has quaked before his face, both the world and all that dwells in it.	5 Les montagnes sont (ont été) ébranlées par lui, et les collines dévastées ; la terre, le monde, et tous ceux qui l'habitent tremblent devant sa face.
6 Who can stand firm before the face of his indignation? And who can continue against the fury of his wrath? His indignation has broken out like a fire, and the rocks have been dissolved before him.	6 Qui résistera devant son indignation, et qui soutiendra la fureur de sa colère ? Son indignation se (s'est) répand(ue) comme le feu, et il (a) dissous les pierres.
7 The Lord is good, and a comforter in the day of tribulation, and he knows those who hope in him.	7 Le Seigneur est bon, il réconforte au jour de l'affliction, et il connaît ceux qui espèrent en lui.
8 And in the flood that passes over, he brings to consummation the end of his place. And darkness shall pursue his adversaries.	8 Par un déluge qui passera il anéantira ce lieu, et les (des) ténèbres poursuivront ses ennemis.
9 What are you thinking up against the Lord? He will accomplish the consummation. There shall not rise up a double tribulation.	9 Que méditez-vous contre le Seigneur ? C'est lui-même qui anéantira ; la tribulation ne viendra pas deux fois.
10 For just as thorns entwine one another, so also, while they are feasting and drinking together, they will be consumed like stubble that is completely dry.	10 Comme des épines qui s'entrelacent, tel est le festin où ils s'enivrent (boivent) ensemble ; ils seront consumés comme de la paille tout à fait sèche.
11 Out of you will go forth one who thinks up evil against the Lord, dragging betrayals through his mind.	11 De toi sortira celui qui médite le mal contre le Seigneur, et qui agite dans son esprit des pensées de perfidie.
12 Thus says the Lord: If they had been perfect, and many of them so, yet still they would be pruned, and it will cross through them. I have afflicted you, and I shall afflict you no more.	12 Ainsi parle le Seigneur : Quoique très forts et nombreux, même ainsi ils seront fauchés et disparaîtront. Je t'ai affligé, mais je ne t'affligerai plus.
13 And now I will shatter his rod from your back, and I will break open your bonds.	13 Et maintenant je vais briser sa verge (en l'éloignant) de dessus ton dos, et je romprai tes liens.
14 And the Lord will place a commandment over you; nothing more from your name will be sown. From the house of your God, I will order destroyed the graven image and the molten image. I will prepare your grave, because you are not honorable.	14 Le Seigneur donnera des ordres à ton sujet, il n'y aura plus de rejeton de ton nom ; j'exterminerai de la maison de ton dieu les statues (l'image taillée au ciseau) et les idoles (la statue jetée en fonte) ; je préparerai (j'en ferai) ton sépulcre, parce que tu es méprisable (t'es déshonoré).
15 Behold, over the mountains, the feet of the Evangelizer and the Announcer of peace. Judah, celebrate your festivals and keep your vows. For Belial will never again pass through you; he has completely passed away.	15 Voici sur les montagnes les pieds de celui qui apporte la bonne nouvelle et qui annonce la paix. Célèbre, Juda, tes jours de fêtes, et rends tes vœux, parce que Bélial ne passera plus désormais au milieu de toi ; il a péri tout entier.
