1 A Canticle Psalm. On the day of the Sabbath.	1 Cantique de louange de David. Celui qui habite sous l'assistance du Très-Haut * demeurera sous la protection du Dieu du Ciel.
2 It is good to confess to the Lord and to sing psalms to your name, O Most High:	2 Il dira au Seigneur: Vous êtes mon défenseur et mon refuge. * Il est mon Dieu; j'espérerai en Lui.
3 to announce your mercy in the morning, and your truth throughout the night,	3 Car c'est Lui qui m'a délivré du piège du chasseur, * et de la parole âpre et piquante.
4 upon the ten strings, upon the psaltery, with a canticle, upon stringed instruments.	4 Il te mettra à l'ombre sous Ses épaules, * et sous Ses ailes tu seras plein d'espoir.
5 For you, O Lord, have delighted me with your doings, and I will exult in the works of your hands.	5 Sa vérité t'environnera comme un bouclier; * tu ne craindras pas les frayeurs de la nuit,
6 How great are your works, O Lord! Your thoughts have been made exceedingly deep.	6 ni la flèche qui vole pendant le jour, ni les maux qui s'avancent dans les ténèbres, * ni les attaques du démon de midi.
7 A foolish man will not know these things, and a senseless one will not understand:	7 Mille tomberont à ton côté, et dix mille à ta droite; * mais la mort n'approchera pas de toi.
8 when sinners will have risen up like grass, and when all those who work iniquity will have appeared, that they shall pass away, age after age.	8 Et même tu contempleras de tes yeux, * et tu verras le châtiment des pécheurs.
9 But you, O Lord, are the Most High for all eternity.	9 Car tu as dit: Vous êtes, Seigneur, mon espérance. * Tu as fait du Très-Haut ton refuge.
10 For behold your enemies, O Lord, for behold your enemies will perish, and all those who work iniquity will be dispersed.	10 Le mal ne viendra pas jusqu'à toi, * et les fléaux ne s'approcheront pas de ta tente.
11 And my horn will be exalted like that of the single-horned beast, and my old age will be exalted in fruitful mercy.	11 Car Il a commandé pour toi à Ses * Anges de te garder dans toutes tes voies.
12 And my eye has looked down upon my enemies, and my ear will hear of the malignant rising up against me.	12 Ils te porteront dans leurs mains, * de peur que tu heurtes le pied contre la pierre.
13 The just one will flourish like the palm tree. He will be multiplied like the cedar of Lebanon.	13 Tu marcheras sur l'aspic et sur le basilic, * et tu fouleras aux pieds le lion et le dragon.
14 Those planted in the house of the Lord will flourish in the courts of the house of our God.	14 Parce qu'il a espéré en Moi, Je le délivrerai; * Je le protégerai, parce qu'il a connu Mon Nom. *
15 They will still be multiplied in a fruitful old age, and they will endure well,	15 Il criera vers Moi, et Je l'exaucerai; * Je suis avec lui dans la tribulation; Je le sauverai et Je le glorifierai.
16 so that they may announce that the Lord our God is righteous and that there is no iniquity in him.	16 Je le comblerai de jours, * et Je lui ferai voir Mon salut.
