1 A Canticle Psalm. On the day of the Sabbath.	1 Toi qui demeures au refuge du Très-Haut et qui te loges à l’ombre du Puissant,
2 It is good to confess to the Lord and to sing psalms to your name, O Most High:	2 dis au Seigneur: “Tu es mon abri, mon rempart, mon Dieu en qui je me confie!”
3 to announce your mercy in the morning, and your truth throughout the night,	3 Il te fera échapper au filet du chasseur, il te protégera des démons du malheur.
4 upon the ten strings, upon the psaltery, with a canticle, upon stringed instruments.	4 Il te couvrira de son plumage et tu te serreras au creux de son aile.
5 For you, O Lord, have delighted me with your doings, and I will exult in the works of your hands.	5 Tu ne craindras pas, de nuit, la terreur, ni de jour, la flèche qui vole,
6 How great are your works, O Lord! Your thoughts have been made exceedingly deep.	6 ni le fléau qui s’avance dans le noir, ni la peste qui frappe en plein midi.
7 A foolish man will not know these things, and a senseless one will not understand:	7 Mille, peut-être, tomberont près de toi, dix mille, rien qu’à ta droite, mais tu seras hors d’atteinte, 4c sa fidélité sera ton mur, ton bouclier.
8 when sinners will have risen up like grass, and when all those who work iniquity will have appeared, that they shall pass away, age after age.	8 Ouvre les yeux et regarde: tu verras ce qu’on rend aux méchants!
9 But you, O Lord, are the Most High for all eternity.	9 Mais toi, tu as le Seigneur pour refuge, tu as fait du Très-Haut ton asile.
10 For behold your enemies, O Lord, for behold your enemies will perish, and all those who work iniquity will be dispersed.	10 Le mal ne t’atteindra pas, la plaie ne frappera pas jusqu’à toi.
11 And my horn will be exalted like that of the single-horned beast, and my old age will be exalted in fruitful mercy.	11 Car il donnera un ordre à ses anges, pour qu’ils t’escortent sur tous tes chemins.
12 And my eye has looked down upon my enemies, and my ear will hear of the malignant rising up against me.	12 Dans leurs mains ils te porteront pour que ton pied ne bute pas sur la pierre.
13 The just one will flourish like the palm tree. He will be multiplied like the cedar of Lebanon.	13 Tu passeras sur les fauves et les serpents, tu piétineras le jeune lion et le dragon.
14 Those planted in the house of the Lord will flourish in the courts of the house of our God.	14 “Puisqu’il s’est lié à moi, je le délivrerai, je veux le protéger, car il a connu mon Nom.
15 They will still be multiplied in a fruitful old age, and they will endure well,	15 Qu’il m’appelle, je lui répondrai, je serai avec lui dans l’angoisse; je le sauverai, je lui donnerai la gloire.
16 so that they may announce that the Lord our God is righteous and that there is no iniquity in him.	16 J’allongerai ses jours autant qu’il le désire, et je ferai qu’il voie mon salut.”
