Revelation 13

NEW JERUSALEM	Biblia Sagrada
1 Then I saw a beast emerge from the sea: it had seven heads and ten horns, with a coronet on each ofits ten horns, and its heads were marked with blasphemous titles.	1 Vi una bestia que salía del mar; tenía diez cuernos y siete cabezas, llevaba en los cuernos diez diademas y en las cabezas un nombre blasfemo.
2 I saw that the beast was like a leopard, with paws like a bear and a mouth like a lion; the dragon hadhanded over to it his own power and his throne and his immense authority.	2 La bestia que vi era semejante a una pantera con patas de oso y fauces de león. El dragón le dio su poder, su trono y gran autoridad.
3 I saw that one of its heads seemed to have had a fatal wound but that this deadly injury had healedand the whole world had marvel ed and fol owed the beast.	3 Y vi que una de sus cabezas estaba como herida de muerte, pero su herida mortal se había curado. Todo el mundo, admirado, seguía a la bestia;
4 They prostrated themselves in front of the dragon because he had given the beast his authority; andthey prostrated themselves in front of the beast, saying, 'Who can compare with the beast? Who can fightagainst it?'	4 y adoraron al dragón por haber dado su autoridad a la bestia, y adoraron a la bestia, diciendo: «¿Quién como la bestia?, ¿quién puede combatir con ella?».
5 The beast was allowed to mouth its boasts and blasphemies and to be active for forty-two months;	5 Y se le dio una boca grandilocuente y blasfema y se le dio autoridad para actuar cuarenta y dos meses.
6 and it mouthed its blasphemies against God, against his name, his heavenly Tent and al those whoare sheltered there.	6 Abrió su boca para blasfemar contra Dios, para blasfemar contra su nombre y contra su morada y contra los que habitan en el cielo.
7 It was allowed to make war against the saints and conquer them, and given power over every race,people, language and nation;	7 Y se le dio combatir contra los santos y vencerlos, y se le dio autoridad sobre toda raza, pueblo, lengua y nación.
8 and al people of the world wil worship it, that is, everybody whose name has not been written downsince the foundation of the world in the sacrificial Lamb's book of life.	8 Lo adorarán todos los habitantes de la tierra, cuyos nombres no están escritos en el libro de la vida del Cordero degollado, desde la creación del mundo.
9 Let anyone who can hear, listen:	9 Quien tenga oídos, que oiga:
10 Those for captivity to captivity; those for death by the sword to death by the sword. This is why thesaints must have perseverance and faith.	10 El que está destinado al cautiverio, al cautiverio va. El que mata a espada, a espada tiene que morir. ¡Aquí se requiere la paciencia y la fe de los santos!
11 Then I saw a second beast, emerging from the ground; it had two horns like a lamb, but made anoise like a dragon.	11 Vi otra bestia que salía de la tierra; tenía dos cuernos de cordero, pero hablaba como un dragón,
12 This second beast exercised al the power of the first beast, on its behalf making the world and al itspeople worship the first beast, whose deadly injury had healed.	12 y ejerce toda la autoridad de la primera bestia, en su presencia; y hace que la tierra y todos sus habitantes adoren a la primera bestia, cuya llaga mortal había sido curada.
13 And it worked great miracles, even to calling down fire from heaven onto the earth while peoplewatched.	13 Y realiza grandes signos, incluso hace bajar fuego del cielo a la tierra, en presencia de los hombres.
14 Through the miracles which it was al owed to do on behalf of the first beast, it was able to lead astraythe people of the world and persuade them to put up a statue in honour of the beast that had been wounded bythe sword and stil lived.	14 Y engaña a los habitantes de la tierra mediante los signos que se le concedió realizar en presencia de la bestia, diciendo a los habitantes de la tierra que hiciesen una imagen de la bestia que tenía la herida de espada, pero que ha sobrevivido.
15 It was al owed to breathe life into this statue, so that the statue of the beast was able to speak, and tohave anyone who refused to worship the statue of the beast put to death.	15 Se le concedió infundir espíritu a la imagen de la bestia, de modo que la imagen de la bestia pudiera hablar e hiciera morir a cuantos no adorasen la imagen de la bestia.
16 It compel ed everyone -- smal and great alike, rich and poor, slave and citizen -- to be branded onthe right hand or on the forehead,	16 Y hace que a todos, pequeños y grandes, ricos y pobres, libres y esclavos, se les ponga una marca en la mano derecha o en la frente,
17 and made it il egal for anyone to buy or sell anything unless he had been branded with the name ofthe beast or with the number of its name.	17 de modo que nadie pueda comprar ni vender si no tiene la marca o el nombre de la bestia.
18 There is need for shrewdness here: anyone clever may interpret the number of the beast: it is thenumber of a human being, the number 666.	18 Aquí se requiere sabiduría. El que tenga inteligencia, cuente la cifra de la bestia, pues es cifra humana. Y su cifra es seiscientos sesenta y seis.
