1 They sang a song that day, Deborah and Barak son of Abinoam, and the words were:	1 E cantarono Debora e Barac figliuolo di Abinoem in quel giorno, e dissero:
2 That the warriors in Israel unbound their hair, that the people came forward with a will, bless Yahweh!	2 Uomini d'Israele, i quali offeriste volontariamente al pericolo le vostre vite, benedite il Signore.
3 Listen, you kings! Give ear, you princes! From me, from me comes a song for Yahweh. I shal glorifyYahweh, God of Israel.	3 Ponete mente, o regi; prestate le orecchie, o principi: Io sono, son io quella che canterò al Signore, darò inni di laude al Signore Dio d'Israele.
4 Yahweh, when you set out from Seir, when you marched from the field of Edom, the earth shook, theheavens pelted, the clouds pelted down water.	4 Signore, allorché tu partisti da Seir, e ti avanzasti per le regioni di Edom, la terra si scosse, e i cieli e le nuvole si sciolsero in acqua.

(Then Yahweh's people marched down to the gates.)	11 Colà dove i cocchi furono infranti, e dove il nemico esercito fu affogato, ivi si raccontino le vendette del Signore, e la clemenza verso i campioni d'Israele: allora fu che il popolo del Signore si adunò alle porte, e riprese il principato:
12 Awake, awake, Deborah! Awake, awake, declaim a song! Take heart, to your feet, Barak, capture yourcaptors, son of Abinoam!	12 Su via, su via, o Debora, su via, su via, intuona il cantico: su via, o Barac, metti le mani su' tuoi prigionieri, o figliuolo di Abinoem.
13 Then Israel marched down to the gates; like champions, Yahweh's people marched down to fight forhim!	13 Le reliquie del popolo sono salvate; il Signore ha combattuto co' valorosi.

Ruben essendo in divisione con sé medesimo, si son trovati in lite tra loro i valorosi.
17 Gilead stayed on the other side of the Jordan, and why should Dan have stayed aboard ship? Asherremained beside the sea, peaceful y living within his ports.	17 Galaad stava in riposo di là dal Giordano, e Dan badava alle sue navi: Aser stava al lido del mare, e si tratteneva ne' porti.
18 Zebulun is a people who have braved death, Naphtali too, on the high ground of the country.	18 Ma Zabulon, e Nephthali sono andati incontro alla morte nel paese di Merome.
19 The kings came and they fought, how they fought, those kings of Canaan, at Taanach, near theWaters of Megiddo, but no booty of silver did they take!	19 Vennero i regi, e attaccaron la mischia: combatterono i re di Canaan in Thanach presso le acque di Mageddo; ma non riportaron nulla di preda.

Shehammered Sisera, she crushed his head, she pierced his temple and shattered it.	26 Prese il chiodo colla sinistra, e colla destra il martello da fabbro, e scelto il luogo della testa per la ferita, diede a Sisara il colpo, trapanandogli con gran forza la tempia.

Why so delayed the hoof-beats from his chariot?'	28 Ma la madre di lui traguardando dalla finestra sclamava, e dalla sua stanza diceva: Come mai tarda a giungere il suo cocchio? come mai son lenti i piedi de' suoi quattro cavalli?
29 The wisest of her ladies answers, and she to herself repeats,	29 Ma una delle mogli di lui più saggia delle altre così rispose alla suocera:
30 'Are they not col ecting and sharing out the spoil: a girl, two girls for each warrior; a booty of colouredand embroidered stuff for Sisera, one scarf, two embroidered scarves for me!'	30 Forse adesso scompartisce egli le spoglie, e a parte per lui si mette la più bella tra le donne: veste di diversi colori sono date a Sisara per sua preda, e ornamenti diversi da mettersi al collo.
31 So perish al your enemies, Yahweh! And let those who love you be like the sun when he emerges inal his strength! And the country had peace for forty years.	31 Periscan così, o Signore, tutti i tuoi nemici: ma color che ti amano, sieno ammantati di luce, come risplende il sole nel suo nascere.
	32 Il paese ebbe riposo per quarant'anni.
