NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 As there were false prophets in the past history of our people, so you too wil have your false teachers,who wil insinuate their own disruptive views and, by disowning the Lord who bought them freedom, wil bringupon themselves speedy destruction.	1 Hubo también en el pueblo falsos profetas, como habrá entre vosotros falsos maestros que introducirán herejías perniciosas y que, negando al Dueño que los adquirió, atraerán sobre sí una rápida destrucción.
2 Many wil copy their debauched behaviour, and the Way of Truth wil be brought into disrepute on theiraccount.	2 Muchos seguirán su libertinaje y, por causa de ellos, el Camino de la verdad será difamado.
3 In their greed they wil try to make a profit out of you with untrue tales. But the judgement made uponthem long ago is not idle, and the destruction awaiting them is for ever on the watch.	3 Traficarán con vosotros por codicia, con palabras artificiosas; desde hace tiempo su condenación no está ociosa, ni su perdición dormida.
4 When angels sinned, God did not spare them: he sent them down into the underworld and consignedthem to the dark abyss to be held there until the Judgement.	4 Pues si Dios no perdonó a los Angeles que pecaron, sino que, precipitándolos en los abismos tenebrosos del Tártaro, los entregó para ser custodiados hasta el Juicio;
5 He did not spare the world in ancient times: he saved only Noah, the preacher of uprightness, alongwith seven others, when he sent the Flood over a world of sinners.	5 si no perdonó al antiguo mundo, aunque preservó a Noé, heraldo de la justicia, y a otros siete, cuando hizo venir el diluvio sobre un mundo de impíos;
6 He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by reducing them to ashes as a warning to futuresinners;	6 si condenó a la destrucción las ciudades de Sodoma y Gomorra, reduciéndolas a cenizas, poniéndolas como ejemplo para los que en el futuro vivirían impíamente;
7 but rescued Lot, an upright man who had been sickened by the debauched way in which these vilepeople behaved-	7 y si libró a Lot, el justo, oprimido por la conducta licenciosa de aquellos hombres disolutos
8 for that upright man, living among them, was outraged in his upright soul by the crimes that he saw andheard every day.	8 - pues este justo, que vivía en medio de ellos, torturaba día tras día su alma justa por las obras inicuas que veía y oía -
9 Al this shows that the Lord is well able to rescue the good from their trials, and hold the wicked for theirpunishment until the Day of Judgement,	9 es porque el Señor sabe librar de las pruebas a los piadosos y guardar a los impíos para castigarles en el día del Juicio,
10 especially those who follow the desires of their corrupt human nature and have no respect for theLord's authority. Such self-wil ed people with no reverence are not afraid of offending against the glorious ones,	10 sobre todo a los que andan tras la carne con apetencias impuras y desprecian al Señorío. Atrevidos y arrogantes, no temen insultar a las Glorias,
11 but the angels in their greater strength and power make no complaint or accusation against them inthe Lord's presence.	11 cuando los Angeles, que son superiores en fuerza y en poder, no pronuncian juicio injurioso contra ellas en presencia del Señor.
12 But these people speak evil of what they do not understand; they are like brute beasts, born only to becaught and kil ed, and like beasts they wil be destroyed, being injured in return for the injuries they haveinflicted.	12 Pero éstos, como animales irracionales, destinados por naturaleza a ser cazados y muertos, que injurian lo que ignoran, con muerte de animales morirán,
13 Debauchery even by day they make their pleasure; they are unsightly blots, and amuse themselves bytheir trickery even when they are sharing your table;	13 sufriendo daño en pago del daño que hicieron. Tienen por felicidad el placer de un día; hombres manchados e infames, que se entregan de lleno a los placeres mientras banquetean con vosotros.
14 with their eyes always looking for adultery, people with an insatiable capacity for sinning, they wilseduce any but the most stable soul. Where greed is concerned they are at their peak of fitness. They are undera curse.	14 Tienen los ojos llenos de adulterio, que no se sacian de pecado, seducen a las almas débiles, tienen el corazón ejercitado en la codicia, ¡hijos de maldición!
15 They have left the right path and wandered off to fol ow the path of Balaam son of Bosor, who set hisheart on a dishonest reward, but soon had his fault pointed out to him:	15 Abandonando el camino recto, se desviaron y siguieron el camino de Balaam, hijo de Bosor, que amó un salario de iniquidad,
16 a dumb beast of burden, speaking with a human voice, put a stop to the madness of the prophet.	16 pero fue reprendido por su mala acción. Un mudo jumento, hablando con voz humana, impidió la insensatez del profeta.
17 People like this are dried-up springs, fogs swirling in the wind, and the gloom of darkness is stored upfor them.	17 Estos son fuentes secas y nubes llevadas por el huracán, a quienes está reservada la oscuridad de las tinieblas.
18 With their high-sounding but empty talk they tempt back people who have scarcely escaped fromthose who live in error, by playing on the disordered desires of their human nature and by debaucheries.	18 Hablando palabras altisonantes, pero vacías, seducen con las pasiones de la carne y el libertinaje a los que acaban de alejarse de los que viven en el error.
19 They may promise freedom but are themselves slaves to corruption; because if anyone lets himself bedominated by anything, then he is a slave to it;	19 Les prometen libertad, mientras que ellos son esclavos de la corrupción, pues uno queda esclavo de aquel que le vence.
20 and anyone who has escaped the pol ution of the world by coming to know our Lord and SaviourJesus Christ, and who then allows himself to be entangled and mastered by it a second time, ends up by beingworse than he was before.	20 Porque si, después de haberse alejado de la impureza del mundo por el conocimiento de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesucristo, se enredan nuevamente en ella y son vencidos, su postrera situación resulta peor que la primera.
21 It would have been better for them never to have learnt the way of uprightness, than to learn it andthen desert the holy commandment that was entrusted to them.	21 Pues más les hubiera valido no haber conocido el camino de la justicia que, una vez conocido, volverse atrás del santo precepto que le fue transmitido.
22 What they have done is exactly as the proverb rightly says: The dog goes back to its vomit and: Assoon as the sow has been washed, it wal ows in the mud.	22 Les ha sucedido lo de aquel proverbio tan cierto: «el perro vuelve a su vómito» y «la puerca lavada, a revolcarse en el cieno».
