2 Thessalonians 2

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 About the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, brothers, and our being gathered to him:	1 Vi preghiamo, fratelli, quanto alla venuta del Signore nostro Gesù e la nostra riunione con lui,
2 please do not be too easily thrown into confusion or alarmed by any manifestation of the Spirit or anystatement or any letter claiming to come from us, suggesting that the Day of the Lord has already arrived.	2 a non lasciarvi agitare così facilmente nel vostro animo né spaventare da oracoli dello Spirito, da parola o da lettera come spedita da noi, quasi che il giorno del Signore sia imminente.
3 Never let anyone deceive you in any way. It cannot happen until the Great Revolt has taken place andthere has appeared the wicked One, the lost One,	3 Nessuno vi inganni in alcun modo. Infatti, se prima non viene l'apostasia e non si rivela l'uomo dell'iniquità, il figlio della perdizione,
4 the Enemy, who raises himself above every so-cal ed God or object of worship to enthrone himself inGod's sanctuary and flaunts the claim that he is God.	4 colui che si oppone e si innalza su tutto ciò che è chiamato Dio o che è oggetto di culto, fino a sedersi egli stesso nel tempio di Dio, dichiarando se stesso Dio...
5 Surely you remember my tel ing you about this when I was with you?	5 Non vi ricordate che, essendo ancora in mezzo a voi, vi dicevo queste cose?
6 And you know, too, what is still holding him back from appearing before his appointed time.	6 E ora sapete ciò che lo trattiene, in modo che si manifesti nell'ora sua.
7 The mystery of wickedness is already at work, but let him who is restraining it once be removed,	7 Infatti il mistero dell'iniquità è già in atto: c'è solo da attendere che chi lo trattiene sia tolto di mezzo.
8 and the wicked One will appear openly. The Lord wil destroy him with the breath of his mouth and wilannihilate him with his glorious appearance at his coming.	8 Allora si manifesterà l'iniquo, che il Signore Gesù distruggerà con il soffio della sua bocca e annienterà con la manifestazione della sua parusia.
9 But the coming of the wicked One wil be marked by Satan being at work in al kinds of counterfeitmiracles and signs and wonders,	9 La parusia dell'iniquo avviene per opera di Satana, con ogni genere di potenza, con miracoli e prodigi di menzogna,
10 and every wicked deception aimed at those who are on the way to destruction because they would notaccept the love of the truth and so be saved.	10 con tutte le seduzioni dell'iniquità per quelli che si perdono, perché non hanno accolto l'amore della verità per essere salvi.
11 And therefore God sends on them a power that deludes people so that they believe what is false,	11 Ecco perché Dio manda ad essi una forza di errore, perché credano alla menzogna,
12 and so that those who do not believe the truth and take their pleasure in wickedness may al becondemned.	12 affinché siano condannati tutti quelli che non hanno creduto alla verità ma si sono compiaciuti dell'ingiustizia.
13 But we must always thank God for you, brothers whom the Lord loves, because God chose you fromthe beginning to be saved by the Spirit who makes us holy and by faith in the truth.	13 Ma noi dobbiamo rendere grazie a Dio sempre per voi, fratelli amati dal Signore, perché Dio vi ha scelti fin da principio per la salvezza nella santificazione dello Spirito e nella fede della verità.
14 Through our gospel he called you to this so that you should claim as your own the glory of our LordJesus Christ.	14 Proprio a questo ha chiamato voi per mezzo del nostro vangelo, per il possesso della gloria del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo.
15 Stand firm, then, brothers, and keep the traditions that we taught you, whether by word of mouth or byletter.	15 Pertanto, fratelli, state forti e conservate le tradizioni nelle quali siete stati istruiti, sia per mezzo della nostra viva voce, sia per mezzo della nostra lettera.
16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who has given us his love and, through hisgrace, such ceaseless encouragement and such sure hope,	16 Lo stesso Gesù Cristo, Signore nostro, e Dio nostro Padre che ci ha amati e ci ha dato, per sua grazia, una consolazione eterna e una buona speranza,
17 encourage you and strengthen you in every good word and deed.	17 consoli e confermi i vostri cuori in ogni opera e parola buona.
