2 Thessalonians 2

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 About the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, brothers, and our being gathered to him:	1 Acerca de la Venida de nuestro Señor Jesucristo y de nuestra reunión con él, les rogamos, hermanos,
2 please do not be too easily thrown into confusion or alarmed by any manifestation of the Spirit or anystatement or any letter claiming to come from us, suggesting that the Day of the Lord has already arrived.	2 que no se dejen perturbar fácilmente ni se alarmen, sea por anuncios proféticos, o por palabras o cartas atribuidas a nosotros, que hacen creer que el Día del Señor ya ha llegado.
3 Never let anyone deceive you in any way. It cannot happen until the Great Revolt has taken place andthere has appeared the wicked One, the lost One,	3 Que nadie los engañe de ninguna manera. Porque antes tiene que venir la apostasía y manifestarse el hombre impío, el Ser condenado a la perdición,
4 the Enemy, who raises himself above every so-cal ed God or object of worship to enthrone himself inGod's sanctuary and flaunts the claim that he is God.	4 el Adversario, el que se alza con soberbia contra todo lo que lleva el nombre de Dios o es objeto de culto, hasta llegar a instalarse en el Templo de Dios, presentándose como si fuera Dios.
5 Surely you remember my tel ing you about this when I was with you?	5 ¿No recuerdan que cuando estuve con ustedes les decía estas cosas?
6 And you know, too, what is still holding him back from appearing before his appointed time.	6 Ya saben qué es lo que ahora lo retiene, para que no se manifieste sino a su debido tiempo.
7 The mystery of wickedness is already at work, but let him who is restraining it once be removed,	7 El misterio de la iniquidad ya está actuando. Sólo falta que desaparezca el que lo retiene,
8 and the wicked One will appear openly. The Lord wil destroy him with the breath of his mouth and wilannihilate him with his glorious appearance at his coming.	8 y entonces se manifestará el Impío, a quien el Señor Jesús destruirá con el aliento de su boca y aniquilará con el resplandor de su Venida.
9 But the coming of the wicked One wil be marked by Satan being at work in al kinds of counterfeitmiracles and signs and wonders,	9 La venida del Impío será provocada por la acción de Satanás y está acompañada de toda clase de demostraciones de poder, de signos y falsos milagros,
10 and every wicked deception aimed at those who are on the way to destruction because they would notaccept the love of the truth and so be saved.	10 y de toda clase de engaños perversos, destinados a los que se pierden por no haber amado la verdad que los podía salvar.
11 And therefore God sends on them a power that deludes people so that they believe what is false,	11 Por eso, Dios les envía un poder engañoso que les hace creer en la mentira,
12 and so that those who do not believe the truth and take their pleasure in wickedness may al becondemned.	12 a fin de que sean condenados todos los que se negaron a creer en la verdad y se complacieron en el mal.
13 But we must always thank God for you, brothers whom the Lord loves, because God chose you fromthe beginning to be saved by the Spirit who makes us holy and by faith in the truth.	13 Nosotros, por nuestra parte, siempre debemos dar gracias a Dios, a causa de ustedes, hermanos amados por el Señor. En efecto, Dios los eligió desde el principio para que alcanzaran la salvación mediante la acción santificadora del Espíritu y la fe en la verdad.
14 Through our gospel he called you to this so that you should claim as your own the glory of our LordJesus Christ.	14 El los llamó, por medio de nuestro Evangelio, para que posean la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
15 Stand firm, then, brothers, and keep the traditions that we taught you, whether by word of mouth or byletter.	15 Por lo tanto, hermanos, manténganse firmes y conserven fielmente las tradiciones que aprendieron de nosotros, sea oralmente o por carta.
16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who has given us his love and, through hisgrace, such ceaseless encouragement and such sure hope,	16 Que nuestro Señor Jesucristo y Dios, nuestro Padre, que nos amó y nos dio gratuitamente un consuelo eterno y una feliz esperanza,
17 encourage you and strengthen you in every good word and deed.	17 los reconforte y fortalezca en toda obra y en toda palabra buena.
