Joshua 3

NEW JERUSALEM	EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL
1 Early in the morning, Joshua struck camp and set out from Shittim with al the Israelites. They went asfar as the Jordan and there they camped before they crossed.	1 Am frühen Morgen brach Josua mit allen Israeliten von Schittim auf. Als sie an den Jordan kamen, übernachteten sie dort, bevor sie ihn überschritten.
2 Three days later, the officials went through the camp	2 Nach drei Tagen gingen die Listenführer durch das Lager
3 and gave the people these instructions, 'When you see the ark of the covenant of Yahweh your Godbeing carried by the levitical priests, you wil leave your position and fol ow it,so that you may know which way totake, since you have never gone this way before.	3 und befahlen dem Volk: Wenn ihr die Bundeslade des Herrn, eures Gottes, seht und die levitischen Priester, die sie tragen, dann sollt auch ihr von dort, wo ihr gerade seid, aufbrechen und ihr folgen;
4 Between you and the ark, however, keep a distance of about two thousand cubits: do not go near it.'	4 nur müsst ihr zwischen ihr und euch einen Abstand von zweitausend Ellen lassen, ihr dürft nicht zu nahe an sie herankommen. So werdet ihr wissen, welchen Weg ihr gehen sollt; denn ihr seid den Weg ja früher noch nie gegangen.
5 Joshua said to the people, 'Sanctify yourselves, since tomorrow Yahweh wil work wonders among you.'	5 Und Josua sagte zum Volk: Heiligt euch; denn morgen wird der Herr mitten unter euch Wunder tun.
6 Joshua then said to the priests, 'Take up the ark of the covenant and cross at the head of the people.'They took up the ark of the covenant and moved to the head of the people.	6 Und zu den Priestern sagte Josua: Nehmt die Bundeslade auf und zieht dem Volk voran! Und sie nahmen die Bundeslade auf und gingen dem Volk voraus.
7 Yahweh said to Joshua, 'This very day, I shal begin to make you great in the eyes of al Israel so thatthey will know that, as I was with Moses, so I shal be with you.	7 Da sagte der Herr zu Josua: Heute fange ich an, dich vor den Augen ganz Israels groß zu machen, damit alle erkennen, dass ich mit dir sein werde, wie ich mit Mose gewesen bin.
8 Now, give this order to the priests carrying the ark of the covenant, "When you have reached the brinkof the waters of the Jordan, you must halt in the Jordan itself." '	8 Du aber sollst den Priestern, die die Bundeslade tragen, befehlen: Wenn ihr zum Ufer des Jordan kommt, geht in den Jordan hinein und bleibt dort stehen!
9 To the Israelites, Joshua then said, 'Come closer and hear the words of Yahweh your God.'	9 Darauf sagte Josua zu den Israeliten: Kommt her und hört die Worte des Herrn, eures Gottes!
10 Joshua said, 'By this, you are to know that the living God is with you and without a doubt wil expel theCanaanites, the Hittites, the Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites before you.	10 Dann sagte Josua: Daran sollt ihr erkennen, dass ein lebendiger Gott mitten unter euch ist: Er wird die Kanaaniter, die Hetiter, Hiwiter, Perisiter, Girgaschiter, Amoriter und Jebusiter vor euren Augen vertreiben.
11 Look, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of the whole earth is about to move into the Jordan at yourhead.	11 Seht, die Bundeslade des Herrn der ganzen Erde zieht vor euch her durch den Jordan.
12 Now choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one man from each tribe.	12 Wählt nun zwölf Männer aus den Stämmen Israels aus, aus jedem Stamm einen!
13 As soon as the priests carrying the ark of Yahweh, Lord of the whole earth, have set the soles of theirfeet in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan wil be cut off; the upper waters flowing down wil stopas a single mass.'	13 Sobald die Füße der Priester, die die Lade des Herrn tragen, des Herrn der ganzen Erde, im Wasser des Jordan stehen, wird das Wasser des Jordan, das von oben herabkommt, wie abgeschnitten sein und wie ein Wall dastehen.
14 Accordingly, when the people left their tents to cross the Jordan, the priests carried the ark of thecovenant ahead of the people.	14 Als dann das Volk seine Zelte verließ und aufbrach, um den Jordan zu überschreiten, gingen die Priester, die die Bundeslade trugen, an der Spitze des Volkes.
15 As soon as the bearers of the ark reached the Jordan and the feet of the priests carrying the arktouched the waters -- the Jordan is in spate throughout the harvest season-	15 Und als die Träger der Lade an den Jordan kamen und die Füße der Priester, die die Lade trugen, das Wasser berührten - der Jordan war aber während der ganzen Erntezeit über alle Ufer getreten -,
16 the upper waters stood stil and formed a single mass over a great distance, at Adam, the town nearZarethan, while those flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, were completely separated. Thepeople crossed opposite Jericho.	16 da blieben die Fluten des Jordan stehen. Das von oben herabkommende Wasser stand wie ein Wall in weiter Entfernung, bei der Stadt Adam, die in der Nähe von Zaretan liegt. Die zum Meer der Araba, zum Salzmeer, hinabfließenden Fluten dagegen liefen vollständig ab und das Volk zog Jericho gegenüber durch den Jordan.
17 The priests carrying the ark of the covenant of Yahweh stood firm on dry ground in mid-Jordan, whileal Israel crossed on dry ground, until the whole nation had completed its crossing of the Jordan.	17 Die Priester, die die Bundeslade des Herrn trugen, standen, während ganz Israel trockenen Fußes hindurchzog, fest und sicher mitten im Jordan auf trockenem Boden, bis das ganze Volk den Jordan durchschritten hatte.
