1 Masters, make sure that your slaves are given what is upright and fair, knowing that you too have aMaster in heaven.	1 Vous, maîtres, donnez à vos serviteurs ce qui est juste et correct. Vous savez que vous avez un maître dans le ciel.
2 Be persevering in your prayers and be thankful as you stay awake to pray.	2 Persévérez dans la prière, et prolongez-la de nuit pour l’action de grâces.
3 Pray for us especial y, asking God to throw open a door for us to announce the message and proclaimthe mystery of Christ, for the sake of which I am in chains;	3 Priez aussi pour nous, que Dieu nous donne des paroles, et que je puisse annoncer le mystère du Christ: c’est la raison pour laquelle je suis enchaîné.
4 pray that I may proclaim it as clearly as I ought.	4 Que je sache donc le faire connaître quand j’aurai à présenter ma défense.
5 Act wisely with outsiders, making the best of the present time.	5 Agissez intelligemment avec ceux de l’extérieur et profitez des occasions:
6 Always talk pleasantly and with a flavour of wit but be sensitive to the kind of answer each one requires.	6 que votre conversation soit toujours agréable et que le sel n’y manque pas; ayez le savoir-faire pour répondre à chacun ce qui convient.
7 Tychicus will tel you al the news about me. He is a very dear brother, and a trustworthy helper andcompanion in the service of the Lord.	7 Celui qui vous donnera de mes nouvelles est Tychique, notre frère bien-aimé, fidèle intendant, mon compagnon de travail dans le Seigneur.
8 I am sending him to you precisely for this purpose: to give you news about us and to encourage youthoroughly.	8 Je vous l’ai envoyé précisément pour vous donner de mes nouvelles et vous réconforter.
9 With him I am sending Onesimus, that dear and trustworthy brother who is a fel ow-citizen of yours.They wil tell you everything that is happening here.	9 Avec lui part Onésime qui est de chez vous, un frère fidèle et bien-aimé. Ils vous diront tout ce qui se passe ici.
10 Aristarchus, who is here in prison with me, sends his greetings, and so does Mark, the cousin ofBarnabas -- you were sent some instructions about him; if he comes to you, give him a warm welcome-	10 Aristarque, mon compagnon de prison, vous salue, et aussi Marc, le cousin de Barnabé; on vous a parlé de lui, et s’il vient, recevez-le.
11 and Jesus Justus adds his greetings. Of al those who have come over from the circumcision, theseare the only ones actually working with me for the kingdom of God. They have been a great comfort to me.	11 Jésus, qu’on appelle Justus, vous salue également. Ce sont les seuls d’origine juive qui travaillent avec moi pour le Royaume de Dieu, et ils ont été mon réconfort.
12 Epaphras, your fel ow-citizen, sends his greetings; this servant of Christ Jesus never stops battling foryou, praying that you will never lapse but always hold perfectly and securely to the wil of God.	12 Épaphras, votre envoyé, vous salue. Voilà un vrai serviteur du Christ, toujours occupé à vous soutenir par sa prière pour que vous restiez parfaits et produisiez tous les fruits que Dieu désire.
13 I can testify for him that he works hard for you, as wel as for those at Laodicea and Hierapolis.	13 Je peux affirmer qu’il vous regrette beaucoup, ainsi que ceux de Laodicée et de Hiérapolis.
14 Greetings from my dear friend Luke, the doctor, and also from Demas.	14 Notre cher Luc, le médecin, vous salue, et aussi Démas.
15 Please give my greetings to the brothers at Laodicea and to Nympha and the church which meets inher house.	15 Vous saluerez les frères de Laodicée, spécialement Nymphas et l’Église qui se réunit dans sa maison.
16 After this letter has been read among you, send it on to be read in the church of the Laodiceans; andget the letter from Laodicea for you to read yourselves.	16 Quand cette lettre aura été lue, veillez à ce qu’on la lise aussi dans l’Église de Laodicée, et lisez vous-mêmes la lettre de Laodicée.
17 Give Archippus this message, 'Remember the service that the Lord assigned to you, and try to carry itout.'	17 Vous direz aussi à Archippe: Veille à bien remplir la charge que tu as reçue dans le Seigneur.
18 This greeting is in my own hand-PAUL. Remember the chains I wear. Grace be with you.	18 Ce salut est de ma main à moi, Paul. N’oubliez pas que je suis enchaîné. La grâce soit avec vous.
