Deuteronomy 12

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 'Now, these are the laws and customs which you must keep in the country which Yahweh, God of yourancestors, is giving you as yours, and which you must observe every day that you live in that country.	1 Queste sono le leggi e le norme che avrete cura di mettere in pratica nella terra che il Signore, Dio dei tuoi padri, ti dà perché tu la possegga finché vivrete nel paese.
2 'You must completely destroy all the places where the nations you dispossess have served their gods,on high mountains, on hills, under any spreading tree;	2 Distruggerete completamente tutti i luoghi dove le nazioni che state per scacciare servono i loro dèi: sugli alti monti, sui colli e sotto ogni albero verde.
3 you must tear down their altars, smash their sacred stones, burn their sacred poles, hack to bits thestatues of their gods and obliterate their name from that place.	3 Demolirete i loro altari, spezzerete le loro stele, taglierete i loro pali sacri, brucerete nel fuoco le statue dei loro dèi e cancellerete il loro nome da quei luoghi.
4 'Not so must you behave towards Yahweh your God.	4 Non farete così con il Signore, vostro Dio,
5 You must seek Yahweh your God in the place which he wil choose from al your tribes, there to sethis name and give it a home: that is where you must go.	5 ma lo cercherete nella sua dimora, nel luogo che il Signore, vostro Dio, avrà scelto fra tutte le vostre tribù, per stabilirvi il suo nome: là andrete.
6 That is where you must bring your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and offerings heldhigh, your votive offerings and your voluntary offerings, and the first-born of your herd and flock;	6 Là presenterete i vostri olocausti e i vostri sacrifici, le vostre decime, quello che le vostre mani avranno prelevato, le vostre offerte votive e le vostre offerte spontanee e i primogeniti del vostro bestiame grosso e minuto;
7 and that is where you must eat in the presence of Yahweh your God, rejoicing over your labours, youand your households, because Yahweh your God has blessed you.	7 mangerete davanti al Signore, vostro Dio, e gioirete voi e le vostre famiglie per ogni opera riuscita delle vostre mani e di cui il Signore, vostro Dio, vi avrà benedetti.
8 'You must not behave as we are behaving here today, each of you doing what he himself sees fit,	8 Non farete come facciamo oggi qui, dove ognuno fa quanto gli sembra bene,
9 since you have not yet come to the resting place and the heritage that Yahweh your God is going togive you.	9 perché ancora non siete giunti al luogo del riposo e nel possesso che il Signore, vostro Dio, sta per darvi.
10 You are about to cross the Jordan and live in the country given you by Yahweh your God as yourheritage; he will grant you peace from al the enemies surrounding you, and you wil live in safety.	10 Ma quando avrete attraversato il Giordano e abiterete nella terra che il Signore, vostro Dio, vi dà in eredità, ed egli vi avrà messo al sicuro da tutti i vostri nemici che vi circondano e abiterete tranquilli,
11 To the place chosen by Yahweh your God as a home for his name, to that place you must bring althe things that I am laying down for you: your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and offerings heldhigh, and al the best of your possessions dedicated by you to Yahweh.	11 allora porterete al luogo che il Signore, vostro Dio, avrà scelto per fissarvi la sede del suo nome quanto vi comando: i vostri olocausti e i vostri sacrifici, le vostre decime, quello che le vostre mani avranno prelevato e tutte le offerte scelte che avrete promesso come voto al Signore.
12 That is where you will rejoice in the presence of Yahweh your God, you and your sons anddaughters, your serving men and women, and the Levite living in your community since he has no share orheritage of his own among you.	12 Gioirete davanti al Signore, vostro Dio, voi, i vostri figli, le vostre figlie, i vostri schiavi, le vostre schiave e il levita che abiterà le vostre città, perché non ha né parte né eredità in mezzo a voi.
13 'Take care you do not offer your burnt offerings in al the sacred places you see;	13 Guàrdati bene dall’offrire i tuoi olocausti in qualunque luogo avrai visto.
14 only in the place that Yahweh chooses in one of your tribes may you offer your burnt offerings and doal the things which I have commanded you.	14 Offrirai, invece, i tuoi olocausti nel luogo che il Signore avrà scelto in una delle tue tribù: là farai quanto ti comando.
15 'This notwithstanding, and whenever you wish, you may slaughter and eat meat wherever you live --as much as the blessing of Yahweh affords you. Clean or unclean may eat it, as though it were gazel e or deer.	15 Ogni volta, però, che ne sentirai desiderio, potrai uccidere animali e mangiarne la carne in tutte le tue città, secondo la benedizione che il Signore ti avrà elargito. Ne potranno mangiare sia l'impuro che il puro, come si fa della carne di gazzella e di cervo.
16 You wil not, however, eat the blood, but wil pour that like water on the ground.	16 Non ne mangerete, però, il sangue: lo spargerai per terra come acqua.
17 'You must not eat the tithe of your wheat, of your new wine or of your oil, or the first-born of your herdor flock, or any of your votive offerings or voluntary offerings, or your offerings held high to Yahweh, at home.	17 Non potrai mangiare entro le tue città le decime del tuo frumento, del tuo mosto, del tuo olio, né i primogeniti del tuo bestiame grosso e minuto, né ciò che avrai consacrato per voto, né le tue offerte spontanee, né quello che le tue mani avranno prelevato.
18 You must eat these in the presence of Yahweh your God in the place Yahweh your God choosesand there alone, you, your son and your daughter, your serving man and serving woman, and the Levite living inyour community, expressing your joy in al your labours in the presence of Yahweh your God.	18 Davanti al Signore, tuo Dio, nel luogo che il Signore, tuo Dio, avrà scelto, mangerai tali cose tu, il tuo figlio, la tua figlia, il tuo schiavo, la tua schiava e il levita che abiterà le tue città; gioirai davanti al Signore, tuo Dio, di ogni cosa a cui avrai messo mano.
19 As long as you live on your soil, be careful not to neglect the Levite.	19 Guàrdati bene, finché vivrai nel tuo paese, dall’abbandonare il levita.
20 'When Yahweh your God enlarges your territory as he has promised you, and you say, "I should liketo eat meat," if you want to eat meat you may eat as much as you like.	20 Quando il Signore, tuo Dio, avrà allargato i tuoi confini, come ti ha promesso, e tu, desiderando mangiare la carne, dirai: “Vorrei mangiare la carne”, potrai mangiare carne a tuo piacere.
21 If the place in which Yahweh your God chooses to set his name is too far away, you may slaughterany of your herd or flock that Yahweh has given you, as I have prescribed for you; you may eat as much of it asyou please at home.	21 Se il luogo che il Signore, tuo Dio, avrà scelto per stabilirvi il suo nome sarà lontano da te, potrai ammazzare bestiame grosso e minuto che il Signore ti avrà dato, come ti ho prescritto. Potrai mangiare entro le tue città a tuo piacere.
22 But you must eat it as you would gazel e or deer; clean and unclean may eat it together.	22 Soltanto ne mangerete come si mangia la carne di gazzella e di cervo; ne potrà mangiare chi sarà impuro e chi sarà puro.
23 Take care, however, not to eat the blood, since blood is life, and you must not eat the life with themeat.	23 Astieniti tuttavia dal mangiare il sangue, perché il sangue è la vita; tu non devi mangiare la vita insieme con la carne.
24 You must not eat it, but must pour it like water on the ground.	24 Non lo mangerai. Lo spargerai per terra come l’acqua.
25 You must not eat it -- so that you, and your children after you, may prosper, doing what is right inYahweh's eyes.	25 Non lo mangerai, perché sia felice tu e i tuoi figli dopo di te: così avrai fatto ciò che è retto agli occhi del Signore.
26 But the holy things of yours and the things which you have dedicated, you must go and take to theplace chosen by Yahweh.	26 Ma quanto alle cose che avrai consacrato o promesso in voto, le prenderai e andrai al luogo che il Signore avrà scelto,
27 The burnt offerings of meat and blood must be presented on the altar of Yahweh your God; whereas,in your sacrifices, the blood must be poured on the altar of Yahweh your God; the meat you yourselves may eat.	27 e offrirai i tuoi olocausti, la carne e il sangue, sull’altare del Signore, tuo Dio. Il sangue delle altre tue vittime dovrà essere sparso sull’altare del Signore, tuo Dio, e tu ne mangerai la carne.
28 Faithful y keep and obey al these orders which I am giving you, so that you and your children afteryou may prosper for ever, doing what is good and right in the eyes of Yahweh your God.	28 Osserva e obbedisci a tutte queste cose che ti comando, perché sia sempre felice tu e i tuoi figli dopo di te, quando avrai fatto ciò che è buono e retto agli occhi del Signore, tuo Dio.
29 'When Yahweh your God has annihilated the nations confronting you, whom you are going todispossess, and when you have dispossessed them and made your home in their country,	29 Quando il Signore, tuo Dio, avrà distrutto davanti a te le nazioni di cui tu stai per prendere possesso, quando le avrai conquistate e ti sarai stanziato nella loro terra,
30 beware of being entrapped into copying them, after they have been destroyed to make way for you,and do not enquire about their gods, saying, "How did these nations worship their gods? I am going to do thesame too."	30 guàrdati bene dal lasciarti ingannare seguendo il loro esempio, dopo che saranno state distrutte davanti a te, e dal cercare i loro dèi, dicendo: “Come servivano i loro dèi queste nazioni? Voglio fare così anch’io”.
31 This is not the way to treat Yahweh your God. For in honour of their gods they have done everythingdetestable that Yahweh hates; yes, in honour of their gods, they even burn their own sons and daughters assacrifices!'	31 Non ti comporterai in tal modo riguardo al Signore, tuo Dio; perché esse facevano per i loro dèi ciò che è abominevole per il Signore e ciò che egli detesta: bruciavano nel fuoco perfino i loro figli e le loro figlie in onore dei loro dèi.
