1 Moses told the Israelites exactly what Yahweh had ordered him.	1 - E Mosè narrò a' figli di Israele tutto quel che il Signore gli aveva comandato.
2 Moses spoke to the tribal leaders of the Israelites and said, 'This is what Yahweh has ordered:	2 Disse poi a' capi delle tribù dei figli d'Israele: «Ecco quello che mi ha prescritto il Signore:
3 "If a man makes a vow to Yahweh or a formal pledge under oath, he must not break his word:whatever he promises by word of mouth he must do.	3 Se un uomo ha fatto al Signore un voto, o s'è legato con un giuramento, non farà che la sua parola sia vana, ma adempirà tutto quanto ha promesso.
4 "If a woman makes a vow to Yahweh or a formal pledge during her youth, while she is stil in her father's house,	4 Se una donna ha fatto voto di qualche cosa, e s'è legata con giuramento, e vive tuttora in casa del padre in età di fanciulla, se il padre ha conosciuto il voto ch'ella ha emesso ed il giuramento col quale s'è obbligata, ed ha taciuto, è tenuta al suo voto;
5 and if her father hears about this vow or pledge made by her and says nothing to her, her vow,whatever it may be, will be binding, and the pledge she has taken, whatever it may be, will be binding.	5 eseguirà di fatto tutto quel che ha promesso e giurato.
6 But if her father on the day he learns of it expresses his disapproval of it, then none of the vows orpledges she has taken wil be binding. Yahweh will not hold her to it, since her father has expressed hisdisapproval.	6 Se invece il padre, appena lo seppe, vi fece opposizione, i voti e giuramenti suoi sono annullati, e non sarà tenuta alla sua promessa, avendovi fatto opposizione il padre.
7 "If, being bound by vows or by a pledge voiced without due reflection, she then marries,	7 Se ha marito, ed ha promesso qualcosa con voto, ed una parola uscita già di sua bocca ha obbligato con giuramento l'anima sua,
8 and if her husband hears of it but says nothing on the day he learns of it, her vows wil be binding andthe pledges she has taken will be binding.	8 da quel giorno nel quale il marito l'ha saputo e non s'è opposto, essa è responsabile del suo voto, e deve mantenere quanto ha promesso.
9 But if on the day he learns of it he expresses his disapproval to her, this wil annul the vow that shehas made or the pledge that binds her, voiced without due reflection. Yahweh wil not hold her to it.	9 Se poi, quando lo seppe, egli subito vi s'oppose, ed annullò le promesse di lei e le parole con le quali aveva legato l'anima sua, il Signore le sarà propizio.
10 "The vow of a widow or a divorced woman and al pledges taken by her are binding on her.	10 La vedova e la repudiata manterranno i loro voti, qualunque siano.
11 "If she has made a vow or taken a pledge under oath while in her husband's house,	11 La moglie che abita col marito, se si sarà obbligata con voto o giuramento,
12 and if when the husband learns of it he says nothing to her and does not express disapproval to her,then the vow, whatever it is, wil be binding, and the pledge, whatever it is, will be binding.	12 ed il marito l'ha saputo ed ha taciuto e non s'è opposto alla di lei promessa, adempirà tutto quel che promise.
13 But if the husband when he hears of it annuls it on the day he learns of it, no undertaking of hers, beit vow or pledge, will be binding. Since the husband has annul ed it, Yahweh wil not hold her to it.	13 Ma se egli subito vi fece opposizione, non sarà tenuta alla sua promessa, perchè il marito vi s'oppose, ed il Signore le sarà propizio.
14 "Every vow or oath that is binding on the wife may be endorsed or annul ed by the husband.	14 Se avrà fatto voto, e si sarà legata con giuramento a mortificare l'anima sua col digiuno o con l'astinenza da altre cose, sarà in arbitrio del marito che essa l'eseguisca o no.
15 "If by the fol owing day the husband has said nothing to her, it means that he endorses her vow,whatever it may be, or her pledge, whatever it may be. He endorses them if he says nothing on the day helearns of them.	15 Che se il marito quando l'ha saputo ha taciuto, ed ha rimandato a un altro giorno il suo giudizio, essa farà quanto ha votato e promesso, avendo egli taciuto allorchè lo seppe.
16 But if, having learnt of them, he annuls them later, he wil bear the consequences for his wife's guilt."'	16 Se poi vi fece opposizione dopo averlo saputo, ne sarà lui il responsabile».
17 Such were the laws which Yahweh prescribed to Moses, concerning the relationship between a manand his wife, and between a father and his daughter while stil young and living in her father's home.	17 Queste son le leggi che il Signore trasmise a Mosè, riguardanti il marito e la moglie, il padre e la figlia, tanto se questa è ancora in età di fanciulla, quanto se [già sposata] vive in casa del padre.
