1 In the twelfth year, on the first day of the twelfth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to me asfol ows,	1 L'anno duodecimo, il duodecimo mese, il dì primo del mese, il Signore parlommi, dicendo:
2 'Son of man, raise a lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt. Say to him: "Young lion of nations, you aredestroyed! Once you were like a crocodile in the lagoons; emerging from your rivers, you churned up the waterwith your trampling and fouled their streams.	2 Figliuolo dell'uomo, intuona lugubre cantico sopra Faraone re dell'Egitto, e darai a lui: Tu fosti simile a un lione tralle nazioni, e al dragone, che sta nel mare: e ruotavi il corno ne' tuoi fiumi, e intorbidavi co' tuoi piedi le acque, e conculcavi le loro correnti.
3 "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shal throw my net over you in a great concourse of nations; and theywil trawl you up in my net. Then I shal leave you high and dry,	3 Per questo così dice il Signore Dio: Io con una turba di molti popoli stenderò sopra di te la mia rete, e col mio amo ti trarrò fuora.
4 I shal throw you out into the wilds and make al the birds of heaven settle on you, and glut all thebeasts of the earth with you.	4 E ti getterò sulla terra, ti lascerò in mezzo ai campi, e farò, che calino sopra di te tutti gli uccelli dell'aria, e di te satollerò le bestie di tutta la terra.
5 I shal strew your flesh on your mountains and fil the val eys with your corruption;	5 E le carni tue spargerò sopra i monti, e le tue colline saranno piene del tuo marciume.
6 I shal water the country with what flows from you, with your blood, on the mountainsides, and you wilfill the ravines.	6 E del tuo fetido sangue innaffierò la terra dei monti, e di esso saran ripiene le valli.
7 When I extinguish you I shal cover the skies and darken the stars. I shall cover the sun with cloudsand the moon wil not give its light.	7 E oscurerò il cielo nella tua morte, e farò annerir le sue stelle, cuoprirò di nuvole il sole, e la luna non darà la sua luce.
8 I shal dim every luminary in heaven because of you and cover your country in darkness -declares theLord Yahweh.	8 Farò ai luminari tutti del cielo menar duolo sopra di te, e spanderò tenebre sopra la tua terra, dice il Signore Dio, allorché i tuoi cadranno feriti per la campagna, dice il Signore Dio.
9 "I shall grieve the heart of many peoples when I bring about your destruction among the nations, incountries unknown to you.	9 E riempirò di terrore il cuore di molti popoli, allorché la tua calamità farò pervenire a notizia delle genti in paesi non conosciuti da te.
10 I shal stun many peoples with shock at your fate; their kings wil tremble with horror at your fate,when I brandish my sword before their eyes. The day you fal , each wil tremble in terror for his life.	10 E del tuo caso farò, che restino sbigottiti molti popoli; e i loro regi in sommo orror tremeranno per te, quando principierà a lampeggiar la mia spada dinanzi a' loro occhi; e tutti saranno in timor grande per loro stessi nel giorno di tua rovina;
11 For the Lord Yahweh says this: The sword of the king of Babylon wil overtake you.	11 Imperocché queste cose dice il Signore Dio: La spada del re di Babilonia verrà sopra di te.
12 I shal make your throngs of subjects fall at the swords of my warriors. They are the most barbarousof nations. They wil annihilate the pride of Egypt, and al its throngs will be destroyed.	12 Colle spade di que' forti abbatterò le molte tue schiere: tutte quelle genti sono invincibili: ed elle umilieranno la superbia dell'Egitto, e le sue schiere saran dissipate.
13 I shal also destroy al its cattle beside the plentiful waters. No human foot wil churn them, no animalfoot wil churn them up again;	13 E io sterminerò tutti i suoi giumenti, che pascolano sulle ripe delle grandi acque, queste non saranno intorbidate più da piede di uomo, né saranno intorbidate da zoccolo di giumento.
14 then I shal let their waters settle and make their rivers glide like oil -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	14 Allora io renderò limpidissime le loro acque, e i loro fiumi faro simili all'olio, dice il Signore Dìo,
15 "When I reduce Egypt to a ruin and the country is stripped of its contents, when I strike all those wholive there, they wil know that I am Yahweh.	15 Quand' io avrò desolata la terra d'Egitto. Or questa terra sarà vuota di tutto quel, che la empie, quand'io avrò percossi tutti i suoi abitatori, e conosceranno, ch'io sono il Signore.
16 "Such is the lament which the daughters of the nations wil raise. They wil raise it over Egypt and allits throng. This is the lament they will raise -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	16 Questo è il carme lugubre, e questo sarà cantato: le figlie delle nazioni lo canteranno; lo canteranno sopra l'Egitto, e sopra la sua gente, dice il Signore Dio.
17 In the twelfth year, on the fifteenth day of the first month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to meas fol ows,	17 E l'anno duodecimo, ai quindici del mese, il Signore parlommi, dicendo:
18 'Son of man, lament over the throng of Egypt, for down she must go with the daughters of majesticnations to the depths of the underworld with those who sink into oblivion.	18 Figliuolo dell'uomo, canta carme lugubre sopra il popolo dell'Egitto, e precipita lui, e le figlie di possenti nazioni nell'infima terra insieme con que', che scendono nella fossa.
19 'Whom do you surpass in beauty? Down with you, make your bed with the uncircumcised,	19 Che è quello, onde tu sei più rispettabile? Scendi a basso, e dormi tragli incirconcisi.
20 with those who have been slaughtered by the sword. (The sword has been given, it has been drawn.)She and al her throngs have fallen.	20 Ei periranno di spada come la turba degli altri uccisi: è stata consegnata la spada: hanno gettato a terra (l'Egitto), e tutti i suoi popoli.
21 From the depths of Sheol, the mightiest heroes, her al ies, wil say to her, "They have come down,they have lain down, uncircumcised, slaughtered by the sword."	21 Volgeranno a lui la parola di mezzo all'inferno i più possenti guerrieri, che sceser laggiù co' suoi aiutatori, è morirono incirconcisi, uccisi di spada.
22 'Assyria is there and al her hordes, with their graves al round her; all of them slaughtered, fal en bythe sword;	22 Ivi l'Assiro, e tutto il suo popolo sepolto intorno a lui: tutti questi furono uccisi, e periron di spada.
23 their graves have been made in the deepest part of the abyss, and her hordes, with their graves alround her; all of them slaughtered, kil ed by the sword, who once spread terror through the world of the living.	23 I quali son sepolti nel più profondo della fossa, e il popolo di lui giace all'intorno del suo sepolcro: tutti uccisi, e abbattuti dalla spada, eglino, che una volta ingombravano di spavento la terra de' vivi.
24 'Elam is there and al her throng round her grave, al of them slaughtered, fallen by the sword; theyhave gone down uncircumcised to the depths of the underworld, who once spread terror throughout the world ofthe living. They have borne their shame with those who sink into oblivion.	24 Ivi Elam, e tutto il suo popolo intorno al suo sepolcro: tutti costoro uccisi, e atterrati dalla spada, i quali scesero incirconcisi nell'infima terra, eglino, che si fecer temere nella terra de' vivi, e portano la loro ignominia come quegli, che scendono nella fossa.
25 Among the slaughtered, they have put a bed for her, among her throng with their tombs round her, alof them uncircumcised, slaughtered by the sword for having spread terror throughout the world of the living.They have borne their shame with those who sink into oblivion. They have been put among the slaughtered.	25 In mezzo agli uccisi è stato collocato il letto per lui, e per tutti i suoi popoli, i quali intorno a lui hanno sepolcro: tutti questi incirconcisi, e morti di spada, perchè si fecer temere nella terra de' vivi, e portano la loro ignominia con que', che scendono nella fossa: giacciono in mezzo agli uccisi.
26 'Meshech, Tubal are there and al her throng, with their graves round her, al of them uncircumcised,slaughtered by the sword for having spread terror through the world of the living.	26 Ivi Mosoch, e Thubal, e tutta la sua gente, la quale intorno a lui ha i suoi sepolcri: tutti questi incirconcisi, e uccisi sotto la spada, perchè si fecer temere nella terra de' vivi.
27 They do not lie with the heroes who fell long ago, those who went down to Sheol ful y armed, whohad their swords laid under their heads and their shields put under their bones, since the heroes inspired theworld of the living with terror.	27 E non morranno della morte dei forti incirconcisi, che perirono, e scesero nell'inferno colle loro anni, e a' quali poste furono sotto i loro capi le loro spade; e le loro iniquità penetravano le loro ossa, perchè erano il terrore de' forti nella terra de' vivi.
28 But you wil be broken with the uncircumcised and lie with those slaughtered by the sword.	28 Tu stesso adunque tragli incirconcisi sarai calpestato, e dormirai con quegli, che perron di spada.
29 'Edom is there, her kings and al her princes who, despite their valour, have been laid with thoseslaughtered by the sword. They lie with the uncircumcised, with those who sink into oblivion.	29 Ivi l'Idumea, e i suoi regi, e tutti i suoi condottieri, i quali insieme co' loro eserciti hanno luogo tra quegli, che furono uccisi di spada, e i quali dormono tragl'incirconcisi, e tra que', che scendono nella fossa.
30 'Al the princes of the north and al the Sidonians are there, who have gone down with theslaughtered, because of the terror which their power inspired. Ashamed, uncircumcised, they lie among thoseslaughtered by the sword and bear their shame with those who sink into oblivion.	30 Ivi tutti i principi del settentrione, e tutti quanti i tiranni, i quali insieme con gli uccisi di spada vi sono condotti, pieni di paura, e con tutta la lor fortezza umiliati: i quali incirconcisi dormono tra que', che periron di spada, e portano la loro ignominia come que', che scendono nella fossa.
31 'Pharaoh wil see them and take comfort at the sight of al this throng slaughtered by the sword --Pharaoh and al his throng -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	31 Faraone li vide, e si racconsolò della molta sua gente uccisa di spada, Faraone, e tutto il suo esercito, dice il Signore Dio.
32 For having spread terror through the world of the living, he wil be laid with the uncircumcised, withthose slaughtered by the sword, Pharaoh and al his throng -- declares the Lord Yahweh.'	32 Perocché io spanderò il mio terrore sulla terra de' vivi, e in mezzo agl'incirconcisi, con que', che moriron di spada, si addormentò Faraone, e tutto il suo popolo, dice il Signore Dio.
