1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as follows,	1 - E il Signore mi comunicò la sua parola dicendo:
2 'Son of man, prophesy and say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Howl: Disaster day!	2 «Figlio dell'uomo, profetizza e dirai: - Così dice il Signore Dio: Urlate, ahi, la sciagura, la sciagura di quel giorno!
3 For the day is near, the day of Yahweh is near; it wil be a day dark with cloud, a time of doom for thenations.	3 Perchè il giorno è vicino e si appressa il giorno del Signore, sarà giorno di nembo, sarà l'ora delle nazioni!
4 "The sword wil come on Egypt, and anguish on the country of Cush when the slaughtered fal inEgypt, when her riches are carried away and her foundations are destroyed.	4 E la spada verrà in Egitto e vi sarà il terrore nell'Etiopia, quando in Egitto i trafitti cadranno morti e tutta la loro moltitudine sarà portata via e demolite le sue fondamenta.

6 "Yahweh says this: "The supports of Egypt wil fall; the pride of her strength wil crumble; they will fal by the sword from Migdol to Syene -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	6 Così dice il Signore Dio: «I sostenitori dell'Egitto cadranno e sarà distrutta la superbia del suo potere, dalla torre di Siene vi sarà tutta una strage di caduti, dice il Signore, Dio degli eserciti.
7 "They will be the most desolate of desolate countries, and its cities the most ruined of cities.	7 E sarà messa in desolazione, in mezzo a terre desolate, e le sue città fatte deserte in mezzo a città deserte.

10 The Lord Yahweh says this: I shal destroy the huge population of Egypt at the hand ofNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.	10 Così dice il Signore Dio: «Io farò cessare la moltitudine che affolla l'Egitto per mano di Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia.
11 He and his people, the most barbarous of nations, wil be brought to ravage the country. They wildraw the sword against Egypt and fil the country with corpses.	11 Egli e seco lui la sua gente, i più forti delle nazioni, saranno condotti a dar il guasto alla terra e sguaineranno le spade sopra l'Egitto e riempiranno la terra di uccisi.
12 I shal dry up the courses of the Nile and sel the country to the wicked. I shal lay the whole countrywaste and everything in it, at the hand of foreigners. I, Yahweh, have spoken.	12 E gli alvei dei fiumi renderò asciutti, e darò la terra in potere dei malvagi e devasterò la terra e tutto quel che contiene per mano degli stranieri. Io, il Signore ho parlato».
13 "The Lord Yahweh says this: I shall destroy the foul idols and take the false gods away from Noph.Egypt wil be left without a ruler. I shall spread fear through Egypt.	13 Così dice il Signore Dio: «Io sterminerò i simulacri e farò sparire gli idoli di Memfi; principe oriundo di Egitto più non vi sarà, e spargerò il terrore nella terra di Egitto.
14 I shal lay Pathros waste, set Zoan on fire, inflict my punishments on No.	14 E metterò a soqquadro la terra di Patures e a fuoco Tanis e farò perire la moltitudine di Tebe.
15 I shal vent my fury on Sin, the bastion of Egypt; I shall wipe out the throngs of No.	15 E riverserò la mia indignazione sopra Pelusio baluardo dell'Egitto e farò perire la moltitudine di Tebe.

19 Such wil be the punishments I inflict on Egypt. And they wil know that I am Yahweh." '	19 E farò giudizio severo dell'Egitto; e conosceranno che io sono il Signore».
20 In the eleventh year, on the seventh day of the first month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to meas fol ows,	20 E avvenne nell'anno undecimo il settimo giorno del primo mese, che il Signore mi comunicò la sua parola dicendo:
21 'Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt; you can see that no one has dressedhis wound by applying remedies to it, by bandaging it and by dressing it, to make it strong enough to wield thesword.	21 «Figlio dell'uomo, ho infranto il braccio di Faraone, re d'Egitto ed ecco che non è stato fasciato per farlo guarire avviluppandolo di panni, ravvolgendolo nelle bende, affinchè ristabilitosi, possa maneggiar la spada».
22 This being so, the Lord Yahweh says this, "Look, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt; I shal breakhis arms, the sound one and the broken one, and make the sword drop from his hand.	22 Perciò, così dice il Signore Dio: «Eccomi al Faraone re di Egitto e gli stritolerò il suo braccio forte, ma fratturato, e gli farò cascare la spada dalla sua mano;
23 I shal scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse it among the countries.	23 e disperderò l'Egitto in mezzo alle nazioni e lo disseminerò per tutte le terre.
24 I shal strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand. I shal breakPharaoh's arms and, confronted with his enemy, he wil groan like a dying man.	24 Rafforzerò invece le braccia del re di Babilonia e darò la mia spada in mano sua, e stritolerò le braccia di Faraone e gemerà su se stesso nel gemito di un trafitto.
25 I shal strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and the arms of Pharaoh wil fall. And they wilknow that I am Yahweh, when I put my sword into the hands of the king of Babylon and he wields it againstEgypt.	25 E rafforzerò le braccia del re di Babilonia e a Faraone cascheranno le mani e conosceranno che io sono il Signore quando avrò dato la mia spada in mano al re di Babilonia ed egli l'avrà stesa sopra la terra di Egitto.
26 I shal scatter Egypt among the nations and disperse it among the countries; and they wil know that Iam Yahweh." '	26 E disperderò l'Egitto fra le nazioni e li disseminerò per altre terre; e conosceranno che io sono il Signore».
