Ezekiel 14

1 Next, some elders of Israel visited me and while they were sitting with me,	1 E vennero da me alcuni degli anziani d'Israele e si posero a sedere dinanzi a me.
2 the word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	2 Allora il Signore mi parlò e mi disse:
3 'Son of man, these men have enshrined their foul idols in their hearts and placed the cause of theirsinning right before their eyes. Why should I let myself be consulted by them?	3 « Figlio dell'uomo, questi uomini portano nel loro cuore le loro immondezze, e tengono dinanzi alla loro faccia lo scandalo della loro iniquità. E potrò io rispondere se m'interrogano?
4 So speak to them; tel them this, "Lord Yahweh says this: Every member of the House of Israel whoenshrines his foul idols in his heart and places the cause of his sinning right before his eyes, and who thenapproaches the prophet, wil get this answer from me, Yahweh, as the multiplicity of his idols deserves,	4 Per questo parla loro e di' loro: Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: All'uomo, chiunque sia, della casa d'Israele, che, portando le sue immondezze nel suo cuore e tenendo lo scandalo delle sue iniquità dinanzi alla sua faccia, verrà dal profeta, per interrogare me per mezzo di lui, io, il Signore, risponderò a lui secondo la moltitudidine delle sue immondezze,
5 and in this way I hope to win back the hearts of the House of Israel who have al been estranged fromme by their foul idols."	5 in modo che la casa d'Israele sia tpresa dal suo cuore, col quale si allontanarono da me per tutti li loro idoli.
6 'So say to the House of Israel, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Come back, turn away from your foulidols, turn your backs on al your loathsome practices;	6 Per questo, di' alla casa d'Israele: Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Convertitevi, allontanatevi dai vostri idoli, rivolgete la faccia da tutte le vomstre immondezze.
7 for if any member of the House of Israel -- or any foreigner living in Israel -- deserts me to enshrine hisfoul idols in his heart and places the cause of his sinning right before his eyes and then approaches a prophet toconsult me through him, he will get his answer from me, Yahweh.	7 Perchè all'uomo, chiunque sia, della casa d'Israele, o dei proseliti stranieri che sono in Israele, che si sarà allontanato da me e porterà idoli nel suo cuore, e terrà dinanzi alla propria faccia lo scandalo delle sue iniquità, se verrà dal profeta a interrogar me per mezzo di lui, io, il Signore, gli risponderò da me stesso.
8 I shal set my face against that person; I shall make him an example and a byword; I shal rid mypeople of him, and you wil know that I am Yahweh.	8 E volgerò contro di lui la mia faccia, ne farò un esempio, un proverbio, e lo sterminerò di mezzo al mio popolo; e voi saprete che io sono il Signore.
9 And if the prophet is seduced into saying something, I, Yahweh, shall have seduced that prophet; Ishall point my finger at him and rid my people Israel of him.	9 E se il profeta darà nell'errore dicendo delle parole, io, il Signore, ho ingannato quel profeta, stenderò sopra di lui la mia mano, e lo sterminerò di mezzo al mio popolo d'Israele.
10 Both wil be punished for their guilt; the prophet's punishment wil be the same as that of the personwho consults him,	10 Ed essi porteranno la loro iniquità, come l'iniquità di colui che interroga, tale sarà l'iniquità del profeta.
11 so that the House of Israel wil never stray from me again or defile themselves again with thesecrimes, but be my people and I their God -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	11 E così non andrà più errando lungi da me la casa d'Israele, non si contaminerà in tutte le sue prevaricazioni, e saranno il mio popolo, ed io il loro Dio — dice il Signore degli eserciti ».
12 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me:	12 E il Signore mi parlò e mi disse:
13 'Son of man, when a country sins against me by being unfaithful and I point my finger at it anddestroy its supply of food, inflicting famine on it and denuding it of human and animal,	13 « Figlio dell'uomo, quando una terra avrà peccato contro di me, moltiplicando le prevaricazioni, io stenderò sopra di lei la mia mano, e toglierò il sostentamento del pane, e le invierò la fame, e farò morire in essa gli uomini e i giumenti,
14 even if the three men, Noah, Danel and Job, were living in it, they would save no one but themselvesby their uprightness -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	14 e se ci fossero in essa questi tre uomini, Noè, Daniele e Giobbe, essi con la loro giustizia salverebbero le loro anime — dice il Signore degli eserciti. —
15 Were I to unleash wild beasts on that country to rob it of its children and reduce it to a desert whichno one would dare to cross because of the animals,	15 Se io manderò sulla terra delle bestie crudeli, perchè la devastino e la rendano impraticabile, in modo che nessuno ci passi a causa delle bestie,
16 even if these three men were living there, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- they would not beable to save either son or daughter; they alone would be saved, and the country would become a desert.	16 se ci fossero in essa questi tre uomini, io vivo — dice il Signore Dio — non salveranno nè figli nè figlie; essi soli saran liberati, e la terra sarà desolata.
17 Were I to bring the sword down on that country and say, "Sword, cross the country!" so as to denude it of human and animal,	17 E se contro quella terra manderò la spada, o dirò alla spada: « Passa per quella terra » e sterminerò da essa uomini e giumenti,
18 even if these three men were living there, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- they would not beable to save either son or daughter; they alone would be saved.	18 e in essa si trovassero questi tre uomini, io vivo — dice il Signore Dio — non salveranno nè figli nè figlie, ma essi soli saranno liberati.
19 If I were to send the plague on that country and vent my fury on it by bloodshed, so as to denude it ofhuman and animal,	19 E se io manderò in quella terra la peste, e spanderò sopra di lei il mio sdegno col sangue, da sterminare da lei uomini e bestie,
20 even if Noah and Danel and Job were living there, as I live -- declares the Lord Yahweh -- they wouldbe able to save neither son nor daughter, only themselves by their uprightness.	20 Noè, Daniele e Giobbe fossero in essa, io vivo — dice il Signore Dio — essi non salveranno nè figli nè figlie, ma salveranno le loro anime colla loro giustizia.
21 'The Lord Yahweh says this, "Even if I send my four dreadful scourges on Jerusalem-sword, famine,wild beasts and plague -- to denude it of human and animal,	21 Or ecco quanto dice il Signore Dio: Anche quando avrò mandato contro Gerusalemme i miei quattro peggiori castighi: la spada, la fame, le bestie feroci, la peste, da sterminare in essa uomini e bestiame,
22 even so, there wil be a remnant left, a few men and women who come through; when they come toyou and you see their conduct and actions, you wil take comfort in spite of the disaster which I have brought onJerusalem, in spite of al I have brought on her.	22 pure vi resteranno dei salvati che faranno uscire figli e figlie. Ecco che essi verranno da voi, e ne vedrete la condotta e le tendenze, e vi consolerete delle sventure che ho mandate sopra Gerusalemme, e di tutto quello che ho fatto venire sopra di lei.
23 They will comfort you, when you see their conduct and actions, and so you wil know that I have notdone in vain al I have done to her -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	23 E vi consolerete nel vedere la loro condotta, le loro tendenze, e riconoscerete che non senza ragione ho fatto tutto quello che ho fatto contro di lei — dice il Signore ».
