Jeremiah 19

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Then Yahweh said to Jeremiah, 'Go and buy a potter's earthenware jug. Take some of the people'selders and some of the senior priests with you.	1 IL Signore ha detto così: Va’, insieme con alcuni degli anziani del popolo, e degli anziani de’ sacerdoti, e compera un boccale di vasellaio.
2 Go out towards the Valley of Ben-Hinnom, just outside the Gate of the Potsherds. There proclaim thewords I shall say to you.	2 Ed esci alla valle del figliuolo di Hinnom, che è all’entrata della porta de’ vasellai; e quivi grida le parole che io ti dirò, e di’:
3 You must say, "Kings of Judah, inhabitants of Jerusalem! Listen to the word of Yahweh! YahwehSabaoth, the God of Israel, says this: I am about to bring such a disaster on this place that the ears of every onewho hears of it wil ring.	3 Ascoltate la parola del Signore, voi re di Giuda, ed abitanti di Gerusalemme: Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Ecco, io fo venire sopra questo luogo un male, il quale chiunque udirà avrà gli orecchi intronati.
4 For they have abandoned me and have made this place unrecognisable, and offered incense here toother gods which neither they nor their ancestors nor the kings of Judah ever knew before. They have fil ed thisplace with the blood of the innocent;	4 Perciocchè mi hanno lasciato, ed hanno profanato questo luogo, ed hanno in esso fatti profumi ad altri dii, i quali nè essi, nè i lor padri, nè i re di Giuda, non han conosciuti; ed hanno empiuto questo luogo di sangue d’innocenti.
5 for they have built high places for Baal to burn their sons as burnt offerings to Baal, a thing I neverordered, never mentioned, that had never entered my thoughts.	5 Ed hanno edificati degli alti luoghi a Baal, per bruciar col fuoco i lor figliuoli in olocausto a Baal, il che io non comandai, e non ne parlai giammai, e non mi entrò giammai in cuore;
6 So now the days are coming, Yahweh declares, when people will no longer cal this place Topheth, orVal ey of Ben-Hinnom, but Val ey of Slaughter.	6 Perciò, ecco, i giorni vengono, dice il Signore, che questo luogo non sarà più chiamato Tofet, nè valle del figliuolo di Hinnom, ma valle di uccisione.
7 Because of this place, I shall empty Judah and Jerusalem of sound advice; I shall make them fall bythe sword before their enemies, by the hand of those determined to kil them; I shal give their corpses as food tothe birds of the sky and the animals of earth.	7 Ed io metterò al niente il consiglio di Giuda e di Gerusalemme, in questo luogo; e li farò cader per la spada dinanzi a’ lor nemici, e li darò in man di quelli che cercano l’anima loro; e darò i lor corpi morti per pasto agli uccelli del cielo, ed alle bestie della terra.
8 And I shal make this city an object of horror and derision; every passer-by will be appal ed at it andwhistle at the sight of al the wounds it has sustained.	8 E metterò questa città in desolazione, ed in zufolo; chiunque passerà presso di essa stupirà, e zufolerà, per tutte le sue piaghe.
9 I shal make them eat the flesh of their own sons and daughters: they wil eat one another during thesiege, in the shortage to which their enemies, and those determined to kil them, will reduce them."	9 E farò che mangeranno la carne de’ lor figliuoli, e la carne delle lor figliuole; e ciascuno mangerà la carne del suo compagno, nell’assedio, e nella distretta, della quale i lor nemici, e quelli che cercano l’anima loro, li stringeranno
10 'You must break this jug in front of the men who are with you,	10 Poi spezza il boccale in presenza di quegli uomini, che saranno andati teco, e di’ loro:
11 and say to them, "Yahweh Sabaoth says this: I am going to break this people and this city just as onebreaks a potter's pot, so that it can never be mended again. "Topheth wil become a burial ground, for lack ofother burial space.	11 Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti: Così romperò questo popolo, e questa città, come si spezza un vasello di vasellaio, il quale non si può più risaldare; e saranno seppelliti in Tofet, finchè non vi sia più luogo da seppellire.
12 That is how I shal treat this place, Yahweh declares, and its inhabitants, by making this city likeTopheth.	12 Così farò a questo luogo, dice il Signore, ed a’ suoi abitanti; e ciò, per render questa città simile a Tofet.
13 The houses of Jerusalem and those of the kings of Judah, al the houses on the roofs of which theyoffered incense to the whole array of heaven and poured libations to other gods, wil be unclean, like this placeTopheth." '	13 E le case di Gerusalemme, e le case dei re di Giuda, saranno immonde come il luogo di Tofet; tutte le case, sopra i cui tetti hanno fatti profumi a tutto l’esercito del cielo, e offerte da spandere ad altri dii.
14 Jeremiah then came back from Topheth where Yahweh had sent him to prophesy, and stood in thecourt of the Temple of Yahweh and said to al the people,	14 Poi Geremia se ne venne di Tofet, dove il Signore l’avea mandato per profetizzare; e si fermò nel cortile della Casa del Signore, e disse a tutto il popolo:
15 'Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, "Yes, on this city, and on all the towns belonging to it, Ishall bring all the disaster which I had decreed for it, since they have stubbornly refused to listen to my words." '	15 Così ha detto il Signor degli eserciti, l’Iddio d’Israele: Ecco, io fo venire sopra questa città, e sopra tutte le terre d’essa, tutto il male che io ho pronunziato contro a lei; perciocchè hanno indurato il lor collo, per non ascoltar le mie parole
