Isaiah 54

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Shout for joy, barren one who has borne no children! Break into cries and shouts of joy, you who werenever in labour! For the children of the forsaken one are more in number than the children of the wedded wife,says Yahweh.	1 Dá gritos de alegria, estéril, tu que não tens filhos; entoa cânticos de júbilo, tu que não dás à luz, porque os filhos da desamparada serão mais numerosos do que os da mulher casada, declara o Senhor.
2 Widen the space of your tent, extend the curtains of your home, do not hold back! Lengthen your ropes,make your tent-pegs firm,	2 Amplia o espaço da tua tenda, desdobra sem constrangimento as telas que te abrigam, alonga tuas cordas, consolida tuas estacas,
3 for you wil burst out to right and to left, your race wil dispossess the nations and repopulate desertedtowns.	3 pois deverás estender-te à direita e à esquerda; teus descendentes vão invadir as nações, povoar as cidades desertas.
4 Do not fear, you wil not be put to shame again, do not worry, you will not be disgraced again; for youwil forget the shame of your youth and no longer remember the dishonour of your widowhood.	4 Nada temas, não serás desapontada. Não te sintas perturbada, não terás do que te envergonhar, porque vais esquecer-te da vileza de tua mocidade. Já não te lembrarás do opróbrio de tua viuvez,
5 For your Creator is your husband, Yahweh Sabaoth is his name, the Holy One of Israel is yourredeemer, he is cal ed God of the whole world.	5 pois teu esposo é o teu Criador: chama-se o Senhor dos exércitos; teu Redentor é o Santo de Israel: chama-se o Deus de toda a terra.
6 Yes, Yahweh has cal ed you back like a forsaken, grief-stricken wife, like the repudiated wife of hisyouth, says your God.	6 Como uma mulher abandonada e aflita, eu te chamo. Pode-se repudiar uma mulher desposada na juventude? - diz o Senhor teu Deus.
7 I did forsake you for a brief moment, but in great compassion I shal take you back.	7 Por um momento eu te havia abandonado, mas com profunda afeição eu te recebo de novo.
8 In a flood of anger, for a moment I hid my face from you. But in everlasting love I have taken pity onyou, says Yahweh, your redeemer.	8 Num acesso de cólera volvi de ti minha face. Mas no meu eterno amor, tenho compaixão de ti.
9 For me it wil be as in the days of Noah when I swore that Noah's waters should never flood the worldagain. So now I swear never to be angry with you and never to rebuke you again.	9 Vou fazer hoje como no tempo de Noé: tal como jurei então que o dilúvio de Noé não mais se abateria sobre a terra, do mesmo modo faço juramento de não mais me irritar contra ti, e de nunca mais te atemorizar.
10 For the mountains may go away and the hil s may totter, but my faithful love wil never leave you, mycovenant of peace will never totter, says Yahweh who takes pity on you.	10 Mesmo que as montanhas oscilassem e as colinas se abalassem, jamais meu amor te abandonará e jamais meu pacto de paz vacilará, diz o Senhor que se compadeceu de ti.
11 Unhappy creature, storm-tossed, unpitied, look, I shal lay your stones on agates and your foundationson sapphires.	11 Infeliz, sacudida pela tempestade e sem alívio, eis que te vou construir em pedra de jaspe e preparar teus alicerces de safira.
12 I shal make your battlements rubies, your gateways firestone and your entire wal precious stones.	12 Farei tuas ameias de rubis, as portas de cristal, e todo um recinto de pedras preciosas.
13 Al your children wil be taught by Yahweh and great wil be your children's prosperity.	13 Todos os teus filhos serão instruídos pelo Senhor, e a felicidade deles será grande; tu serás fundada sobre a justiça.
14 In saving justice you will be made firm, free from oppression: you will have nothing to fear; free fromterror: it wil not approach you.	14 Serás isenta de qualquer opressão, nada terás a temer, e de todo o terror, pois não poderá atingir-te.
15 Should anyone attack you, that wil not be my doing, and whoever does attack you, for your sake willfal .	15 Se te atacarem, não será de minha parte; teus agressores sucumbirão diante de ti.
16 I created the smith who blows on the charcoal-fire to produce a weapon for his use; I also created thedestroyer to ruin it.	16 De fato, fui eu quem criou o ferreiro, que sopra sobre o fogo de brasas e dele tira as armas trabalhadas pela sua arte; também fui eu quem criou os demolidores para destruir:
17 No weapon forged against you wil succeed. Any voice raised against you in court you will refute.Such is the lot of the servants of Yahweh, the saving justice I assure them, declares Yahweh.	17 qualquer arma forjada contra ti, ver-se-á destinada ao insucesso, e na justiça ganharás causa de qualquer língua que quiser acusar-te. Tal é o apanágio dos servos do Senhor, tal é o triunfo que lhes reservo, diz o Senhor.
