3 'In the first year of King Cyrus, King Cyrus issued this order: "Temple of God in Jerusalem. "The Templeis to be rebuilt as a place of offering sacrifice and its foundations retained. Its height is to be sixty cubits, its widthsixty cubits,	3 « Anno primo del re Ciro. Il re Ciro ha ordinato che la casa di Dio che è in Gerusalemme sia riedificata, affinchè sia un luogo dove si possano immolar vittime; sian gettati fondamenti atti a sopportare un'altezza di sessanta cubiti e una larghezza di sessanta cubiti;
4 with three layers of large stones and one layer of timber. The cost is to be met by the royal treasury.	4 abbia tre ordini di pietre non lavorate e altrettanti ordini di legname nuovo; e le spese sian pagate dalla casa del re.
5 Furthermore, the gold and silver articles belonging to the Temple of God which Nebuchadnezzar tookfrom the Temple in Jerusalem and brought to Babylon are to be given back and returned to the temple inJerusalem, each to its proper place, and deposited in the Temple of God."	5 Inoltre i vasi d'oro e d'argento del tempio di Dio da Nabucodonosor tolti al tempio di Gerusalemme e trasportati a Babilonia siano restituiti e riportati nel tempio a Gerusalemme, al loro luogo, e siano collocati nel tempio di Dio ».
6 'Hence, Tattenai governor of Transeuphrates, Shethar-Bozenai and your associates, the officials ofTranseuphrates, keep away from there!	6 « Or dunque, o Ta fanai governatore del paese di là dal fiume, o Starbuzanai, che, coi vostri consiglieri Arfasachei dimorate di là dal fiume, allontanatevi dai Giudei,
7 Leave the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews alone, to get on with their work on thatTemple of God; they are permitted to rebuild that Temple of God on that site.	7 e lasciate che si faccia quel tempio di Dio dal capo dei Giudei e dai loro anziani e che essi edifichino quella casa di Dio nel suo luogo.
8 And herewith are my instructions as to how you will assist these elders of the Jews in the rebuilding ofthat Temple of God: the cost is to be paid in ful to these men from the royal revenue, that is, from the taxes ofTranseuphrates, and without interruption.	8 Ecco l'ordine da me dato sul da farsi verso quegli anziani dei Giudei, affinchè la casa di Dio sia fabbricata: col tesoro del re, cioè coi tributi che sono pagati dal paese oltre il fiume, sia somministrato con diligenza il danaro a quegli uomini, affinchè non venga impedito il lavoro;
9 And whatever is required -- young bul s, rams, lambs for burnt offerings to the God of heaven, wheat,salt, wine, oil, as the priests in Jerusalem request -- is to be given them day by day without fail,	9 se poi è necessario, sian dati loro ogni giorno vitelli, agnelli e capretti per l'olocausto al Dio del cielo, finimento, sale, vino, olio, secondo il rito dei sacerdoti che sono in Gerusalemme, onde nessuno abbia a lamentarsi,
10 so that they may offer sacrifices acceptable to the God of heaven and pray for the life of the king andhis sons.	10 possano offrire oblazioni al Dio del cielo e facciano preghiere per la vita del re e dei suoi figli.
11 Furthermore I have issued an instruction that if anyone disobeys this order, a beam is to be torn fromhis house, he is to be impaled on it and his house is to be reduced to a rubbish-heap for his offence;	11 Da me è stato inoltre dato quest'ordine, che, chiunque contravverrà a questo comando, si prenda una trave della sua casa, sia rizzata, egli vi sia confitto sopra e la sua casa sia confiscata.
12 and may the God who has caused his name to live there overthrow the king of any people who daresto defy this and destroy that Temple of God in Jerusalem! I, Darius, have issued this order. Let it be punctiliouslyobeyed!'	12 E Dio, che ha fatto abitare là il suo nome, stermini tutti i regni e il popolo che stenderà la sua mano per opporsi e per distruggere quella casa di Dio che è in Gerusalemme. Io Dario ho fatto questo decreto, e voglio che sia eseguito puntualmente ».
13 Tattenai governor of Transeuphrates, Shethar-Bozenai and their associates punctiliously obeyed theinstructions sent by King Darius;	13 Avendo Tafanai, governato re del paese di là dal fiume, Starbuzanai e i suoi consiglieri, eseguito puntualmente ciò che il re Dario aveva comandato,
14 and the elders of the Jews made good progress over their building, thanks to the prophetic activity ofthe prophet Haggai and Zechariah son of Iddo, completing the reconstruction in accordance with the commandof the God of Israel and the order of Cyrus and of Darius.	14 gli anziani dei Giudei seguitarono a edificare, e riuscendo loro bene le cose, secondo la profezia d'Aggeo profeta e di Zaccaria figlio di Addo, innalzarono l'edificio per ordine del Dio d'Israele, e per ordine di Ciro, di Dario e di Artaserse re dei Persiani.
15 This Temple was completed on the twenty-third day of the month of Adar, in the sixth year of the reignof King Darius.	15 Finirono la casa di Dio ai tre del mese di Adar, l'anno sesto del regno di Dario.
16 The Israelites -- the priests, the Levites and the remainder of the exiles -- joyful y celebrated thededication of this Temple of God;	16 Allora i figli d'Israele, i sacerdoti, i leviti e il resto dei figli della cattività celebrarono con allegrezza la dedicazione della casa di Dio.
17 for the dedication of this Temple of God they offered one hundred bul s, two hundred rams, fourhundred lambs and, as a sin offering for al Israel, twelve he-goats, corresponding to the number of the tribes ofIsrael.	17 Offrirono per la dedicazione della casa di Dio cento vitelli, duecento montoni, quattrocento agnelli, e, per il peccato di tutto Israele, dodici capri, secondo il numero delle tribù d'Israele.
18 Then they installed the priests in their orders and the Levites in their positions for the ministry of theTemple of God in Jerusalem, as prescribed in the Book of Moses.	18 E stabilirono i sacerdoti nelle loro classi e i leviti nei loro turni per il servi zio di Dio in Gerusalemme, come sta scritto nel libro di Mosè.
19 The exiles celebrated the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.	19 Poi i figli d'Israele della trasmigrazione fecero la Pasqua, ai quattordici del primo mese;
20 The Levites, as one man, had purified themselves; al were pure, so they sacrificed the Passover for althe exiles, for their brothers the priests and for themselves.	20 Essendosi i sacerdoti e i leviti purificati come un sol uomo, tutti erano puri per immolare la Pasqua per tutti i figli della trasmigrazione, per i sacerdoti loro fratelli, e per se stessi.
21 So the Israelites who had returned from exile and al those who had renounced the filthy practices ofthe people of the country to join them in resorting to Yahweh, God of Israel, ate the Passover.	21 La mangiarono i figli d'Israele tornati dalla trasmigrazione, e tutti quelli che s'erano separati dalla corruzione delle genti del paese, e s'erano uniti a loro per cercare il Signore Dio d'Israele.
22 For seven days they joyful y celebrated the feast of Unleavened Bread, for Yahweh had given themcause to rejoice, having moved the heart of the king of Assyria in their favour to support them in their work on theTemple of God, the God of Israel.	22 Celebrarono la solennità degli azzimi per sette giorni, con allegrezza, perchè il Signore li aveva rallegrati ed aveva piegato verso di loro il cuore del re di Assur, fino a dar loro aiuto nell'opera della casa del Signore Dio d'Israele.
