2 Kings 21

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he came to the throne and he reigned for fifty-five years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Hephzibah.	1 Manassés tinha doze anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou durante cinqüenta e cinco anos em Jerusalém. Sua mãe chamava-se Hafsiba.
2 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, copying the disgusting practices of the nations whom Yahwehhad dispossessed for the Israelites.	2 Fez o mal aos olhos do Senhor, imitando as abominações dos povos que o Senhor tinha despojado diante dos israelitas.
3 He rebuilt the high places which his father Hezekiah had destroyed, he set up altars to Baal and madea sacred pole as Ahab king of Israel had done, he worshipped the whole array of heaven and served it.	3 Reconstruiu os lugares altos que seu pai Ezequias tinha destruído, erigiu altares a Baal, esculpiu um ídolo de pau, asserá, semelhante ao que tinha feito Acab, rei de Israel, e prostrou-se diante de todo o exército dos céus, para adorá-lo.
4 He built altars in the Temple of Yahweh of which Yahweh had said, 'Jerusalem is where I shal put myname.'	4 Construiu altares no templo do Senhor, do qual o Senhor tinha dito: O meu nome residirá em Jerusalém.
5 He built altars to the whole array of heaven in the two courts of the Temple of Yahweh.	5 Levantou altares a todo o exército dos céus nos dois átrios do templo do Senhor.
6 He caused his son to pass through the fire of sacrifice, he also practised soothsaying and divinationand set up mediums and spirit guides. He did very many more things displeasing to Yahweh, thus provoking hisanger.	6 Fez passar pelo fogo seu próprio filho; entregou-se à magia, à astrologia, à necromancia e à adivinhação. Multiplicou as ações que ofendem o Senhor, provocando assim a sua ira.
7 He had an image of Asherah carved and placed it inside the Temple of which Yahweh had said toDavid and his son Solomon, 'In this Temple and in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen out of al the tribes ofIsrael, I shal put my Name for ever.	7 A asserá, que ele havia talhado, colocou-a no templo do Senhor, o templo do qual o Senhor dissera a Davi e ao seu filho Salomão: Neste templo e na cidade de Jerusalém, que escolhi dentre todas as tribos de Israel, estabelecerei o meu nome perpetuamente.
8 Nor shal I ever again set Israel's footsteps wandering outside the country which I gave to theirancestors, provided they are careful to observe all I have commanded them as laid down in the whole Law whichmy servant Moses prescribed for them.'	8 Não mais permitirei que os israelitas errem fora da terra que dei aos seus pais, contanto que observem cuidadosamente os meus mandamentos e a lei que lhes prescreveu Moisés, meu servo.
9 But they would not listen, and Manasseh misled them into doing worse things than the nations whomYahweh had destroyed for the Israelites.	9 Eles, porém, não obedeceram, mas foram seduzidos por Manassés e fizeram pior ainda que os povos que o Senhor tinha aniquilado diante dos israelitas.
10 Then Yahweh spoke through his servants the prophets as fol ows,	10 O Senhor falou, pois, pela boca de seus servos, os profetas:
11 'Since Manasseh king of Judah has done these shameful deeds, doing more wicked deeds thananything which the Amorites did before him, and has led Judah too into sin with his idols,	11 Porque Manassés, rei de Judá, cometeu essas abominações, procedendo ainda pior que tudo o que tinham feito outrora os amorreus, e levando, além disso, Judá ao pecado de idolatria,
12 Yahweh, God of Israel, says this, "Look, I shall bring such disaster on Jerusalem and Judah as wilmake the ears of al who hear of it tingle.	12 por isso, diz o Senhor Deus de Israel, vou fazer cair sobre Jerusalém e Judá calamidades tais que farão retinir os ouvidos dos que ouvirem falar delas.
13 Over Jerusalem I shal stretch the same measuring line as over Samaria, the same plumb-rule as forthe House of Ahab; I shall scour Jerusalem as someone scours a dish and, having scoured it, turns it upsidedown.	13 Passarei sobre Jerusalém o cordão de Samaria, e o nível da casa de Acab; limparei Jerusalém como um prato que se esfrega, virando-o de um lado para o outro.
14 I shal cast away the remnant of my heritage, delivering them into the clutches of their enemies andmaking them the prey and booty of al their enemies,	14 Abandonarei os restos de minha herança e os entregarei nas mãos dos seus inimigos, aos quais servirão de espólio e de presa,
15 because they have done what is displeasing to me and have provoked my anger from the day theirancestors came out of Egypt until now." '	15 porque fizeram o mal diante de mim e não cessaram de me irritar, desde o dia em que seus pais saíram do Egito até hoje.
16 Manasseh shed innocent blood, too, in such great quantity that he flooded Jerusalem from one end tothe other, besides the sins into which he led Judah by doing what is displeasing to Yahweh.	16 Manassés derramou também tanto sangue inocente que inundou Jerusalém de uma extremidade à outra, sem falar dos pecados com que tinha feito pecar Judá, levando-o a fazer o mal aos olhos do Senhor.
17 The rest of the history of Manasseh, his entire career, the sins he committed, is this not recorded inthe Book of the Annals of the Kings of Judah?	17 O resto da história de Manassés, seus atos e grandes feitos, os pecados que cometeu, tudo se acha consignado no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Judá.
18 Then Manasseh fel asleep with his ancestors and was buried in the garden of his palace, the Gardenof Uzza; his son Amon succeeded him.	18 Manassés adormeceu com seus pais e foi sepultado no jardim de seu palácio, no jardim de Oza. Seu filho Amon sucedeu-lhe no trono.
19 Amon was twenty-two years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for two years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Meshul emeth daughter of Haruz, of Jotbah.	19 Amon tinha vinte e dois anos quando começou a reinar e reinou dois anos em Jerusalém. Sua mãe chamava-se Messalemet, filha de Harus, natural de Jeteba.
20 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, as Manasseh his father had done.	20 Fez o mal aos olhos do Senhor, como seu pai Manassés.
21 In every respect he followed the example of his father, serving the idols which his father had served,and worshipping them.	21 Seguiu todas as pisadas de seu pai, e adorou os ídolos que ele tinha adorado, prostrando-se diante deles.
22 He abandoned Yahweh, God of his ancestors; he did not fol ow the way of Yahweh.	22 Abandonou o Senhor, Deus de seus pais, e não andou no caminho do Senhor.
23 Amon's retinue plotted against the king and kil ed him in his own palace.	23 Os servos de Amon conspiraram contra ele e assassinaram-no em seu palácio.
24 The people of the country, however, slaughtered all those who had plotted against King Amon andproclaimed his son Josiah as his successor.	24 O povo, porém, massacrou todos os conjurados e proclamou rei Josias, filho de Amon, em seu lugar.
25 The rest of the history of Amon, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of theKings of Judah?	25 O resto da historia de Amon, seus atos e grandes feitos, tudo se acha consignado no livro das Crônicas dos reis de Judá.
26 He was buried in his father's tomb in the Garden of Uzza; his son Josiah succeeded him.	26 Sepultaram-no em seu túmulo, no jardim de Oza, e seu filho Josias sucedeu-lhe no trono.
