2 Kings 21

1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he came to the throne and he reigned for fifty-five years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Hephzibah.	1 Manasse era in età di dodici anni quando principiò a regnare; e regnò cinquantacinque anni in Gerusaselemme: sua madre ebbe nome Haphsiba.
2 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, copying the disgusting practices of the nations whom Yahwehhad dispossessed for the Israelites.	2 Egli fece il male nel cospetto del Signore, onorando gl'idoli delle nazioni sterminate già dal Signore all'arrivo de' figluoli d'Israele.
3 He rebuilt the high places which his father Hezekiah had destroyed, he set up altars to Baal and madea sacred pole as Ahab king of Israel had done, he worshipped the whole array of heaven and served it.	3 E si rivolse a rimettere in piedi i luoghi eccelsi rovinati da Ezechia suo padre, e alzò altari a Baal, e piantò dei boschetti, come avea fatto Achab re d'Israele, e adorò tutta la milizia del cielo, e le rendette onore.
4 He built altars in the Temple of Yahweh of which Yahweh had said, 'Jerusalem is where I shal put myname.'	4 Ed eresse altari nella casa del Signore, per ragion della quale il Signore avea detto: Porrò il nome mio in Gerusalemme.
5 He built altars to the whole array of heaven in the two courts of the Temple of Yahweh.	5 Ed eresse altari a tutta la milizia del cielo nei due atri del tempio del Signore.
6 He caused his son to pass through the fire of sacrifice, he also practised soothsaying and divinationand set up mediums and spirit guides. He did very many more things displeasing to Yahweh, thus provoking hisanger.	6 E fece passar pel fuoco il proprio figliuolo, e andò dietro agl'indozzamenti, e badò agli auguri, e istituì dei maghi, e moltiplicò gli aruspici facendo il male dinanzi al Signore, e provocandolo ad ira.
7 He had an image of Asherah carved and placed it inside the Temple of which Yahweh had said toDavid and his son Solomon, 'In this Temple and in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen out of al the tribes ofIsrael, I shal put my Name for ever.	7 Pose eziandio l'idolo del bosco piantato da lui, nel tempio del Signore, intorno al quale il Signore avea detto a Davidde, e a Salomone suo figliuolo: In questo tempio, e in Gerusalemme eletta tra tutte le tribù d'Israele, porrò dio il mio nome in sempiterno.
8 Nor shal I ever again set Israel's footsteps wandering outside the country which I gave to theirancestors, provided they are careful to observe all I have commanded them as laid down in the whole Law whichmy servant Moses prescribed for them.'	8 E non permetterò, che Israele abbia mai più a muovere il piede dalla terra data da me ai padri loro: se però eglino osserveranno tutti i miei comandamenti, e tutta la legge intimata ad essi da Mosè mio servo
9 But they would not listen, and Manasseh misled them into doing worse things than the nations whomYahweh had destroyed for the Israelites.	9 Ma quelli non ascoltarono; ma furon sedotti da Manasse per mal fare più, che non avean fatto le genti sterminate dal Signore alla venuta de' figliuoli d'Israele.
10 Then Yahweh spoke through his servants the prophets as fol ows,	10 E il Signore parlò per bocca de' profeti suoi servi, e disse:
11 'Since Manasseh king of Judah has done these shameful deeds, doing more wicked deeds thananything which the Amorites did before him, and has led Judah too into sin with his idols,	11 Perchè Manasse re di Giuda ha commesse queste orrende abbominazioni, le quali passano tutto quello, che avanti a lui fecero gli Amorrei, e ha ancora indotto Giuda a prevaricare colle sue immondezze:
12 Yahweh, God of Israel, says this, "Look, I shall bring such disaster on Jerusalem and Judah as wilmake the ears of al who hear of it tingle.	12 Per questo così dice il Signore Dio d'Israele: Ecco che io pioverò tali sciagure sopra Gerusalemme, e sopra Giuda, che a chiunque ne udirà parlare fischieranno ambedue le orecchie.
13 Over Jerusalem I shal stretch the same measuring line as over Samaria, the same plumb-rule as forthe House of Ahab; I shall scour Jerusalem as someone scours a dish and, having scoured it, turns it upsidedown.	13 E sopra Gerusalemme stenderò la corda, che stesi sopra Samaria, e il peso della casa di Achab; e ripulirò Gerusalemme come suol ripulirsi una tavoletta (da scrivere), e per ripulirla volgerò, e rivolgerò lo stile sopra di essa.
14 I shal cast away the remnant of my heritage, delivering them into the clutches of their enemies andmaking them the prey and booty of al their enemies,	14 E io lascerò in abbandono gli avanzi del mio retaggio, e li darò in potere de' lor nemici, e saranno spersi, e fatti preda di tutti i loro avversari;
15 because they have done what is displeasing to me and have provoked my anger from the day theirancestors came out of Egypt until now." '	15 Perchè eglino han fatto il male dinanzi a me, e han continuato ad irritarmi dal giorno, in cui i padri loro uscirono dall'Egitto fino al di d'oggi;
16 Manasseh shed innocent blood, too, in such great quantity that he flooded Jerusalem from one end tothe other, besides the sins into which he led Judah by doing what is displeasing to Yahweh.	16 Manasse di più sparse del sangue innocente senza misura, fino ad inondare Gerusalemme: senza contare i peccati, ch'ei fé commettere a Giuda, facendo il male nel cospetto del Signore.
17 The rest of the history of Manasseh, his entire career, the sins he committed, is this not recorded inthe Book of the Annals of the Kings of Judah?	17 Il resto poi delle azioni di Manasse, e tutto quello, ch'ei fece, e il peccato, che egli commise, queste cose non son elleno scritte nel diario de' fatti dei re di Giuda?
18 Then Manasseh fel asleep with his ancestors and was buried in the garden of his palace, the Gardenof Uzza; his son Amon succeeded him.	18 E si addormentò Manasse coi padri suoi, e fu sepolto nell'orto di sua casa, nell'orto di Oza: e succedette a lui nel regno Amon suo figliuolo.
19 Amon was twenty-two years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for two years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Meshul emeth daughter of Haruz, of Jotbah.	19 Ventidue anni aveva Amon quando principiò a regnare, e regnò due anni in Gerusalemme: sua madre ebbe nome Messalemeth figliuola di Harus di Jeteba.
20 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, as Manasseh his father had done.	20 Ed egli fece il male nel cospetto del Signore, come avea fatto Manasse suo padre,
21 In every respect he followed the example of his father, serving the idols which his father had served,and worshipping them.	21 E imitò in tutto, e per tutto il padre suo, e servì agVliidoli immondi,come avea servito il padre suo, e gli adorò.
22 He abandoned Yahweh, God of his ancestors; he did not fol ow the way of Yahweh.	22 E abbandonò il Signore Dio de padri suoi, e non battè le vie del Signore.
23 Amon's retinue plotted against the king and kil ed him in his own palace.	23 E i suoi servi gli tesero insidie, e uccisero il re in sua casa.
24 The people of the country, however, slaughtered all those who had plotted against King Amon andproclaimed his son Josiah as his successor.	24 Ma il popolo del paese fece morire tutti quelli, che avean congiurato contro del re Amon, e dichiararono re in sua vece Josia suo figliuolo.
25 The rest of the history of Amon, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of theKings of Judah?	25 Il resto poi delle azioni di Amon, non son elleno scrìtte nel diario de' fatti dei re di Giuda?
26 He was buried in his father's tomb in the Garden of Uzza; his son Josiah succeeded him.	26 Ed ei fu sepolto nella sua sepoltura, nell'orto di Oza: e Josia suo figliuolo gli succedette nel regno.
