1 What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we looked upon and touched with our hands concerns the Word of life--	1 QUELLO che era dal principio, quello che abbiamo udito, quello che abbiam veduto con gli occhi nostri, quello che abbiam contemplato, e che le nostre mani hanno toccato della Parola della vita
2 for the life was made visible; we have seen it and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was made visible to us--	2 e la vita è stata manifestata, e noi l’abbiam veduta, e ne rendiam testimonianza, e vi annunziamo la vita eterna, la quale era presso il Padre, e ci è stata manifestata;
3 what we have seen and heard we proclaim now to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; for our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.	3 quello, dico, che abbiam veduto ed udito, noi ve l’annunziamo; acciocchè ancora voi abbiate comunione con noi, e che la nostra comunione sia col Padre, e col suo Figliuol Gesù Cristo.
4 We are writing this so that our joy may be complete.	4 E vi scriviamo queste cose, acciocchè la vostra allegrezza sia compiuta
5 Now this is the message that we have heard from him and proclaim to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all.	5 OR questo è l’annunzio che abbiamo udito da lui, e il qual vi annunziamo: che Iddio è luce, e che non vi sono in lui tenebre alcune.
6 If we say, "We have fellowship with him," while we continue to walk in darkness, we lie and do not act in truth.	6 Se noi diciamo che abbiamo comunione con lui, e camminiamo nelle tenebre, noi mentiamo, e non procediamo in verità.
