1 After they had subdued the land, the whole community of the Israelites assembled at Shiloh, where they set up the meeting tent.	1 Todos os filhos de Israel se juntaram em Silo, e levantaram ali o tabernáculo da reunião. A terra estava-lhes sujeita.
2 Seven tribes among the Israelites had not yet received their heritage.	2 Havia sete tribos dos filhos de Israel, que ainda não tinham recebido as suas possessões.
3 Joshua therefore said to the Israelites, "How much longer will you put off taking steps to possess the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you?	3 Josué disse-lhes: Até quando vos consumirá o ócio, até quando sereis negligentes em tomar posse da terra que o Senhor Deus de vossos pais vos deu?
4 Choose three men from each of your tribes; I will commission them to begin a survey of the land, which they shall describe for purposes of inheritance. When they return to me	4 Escolhei três homens de cada tribo, para que eu os envie e vão dar uma volta pelo país, façam a sua demarcação, segundo o número de cada multidão (ou tribo que a deve possuir), e me refiram a demarcação que tiverem feito.
5 you shall divide it into seven parts. Judah is to retain its territory in the south, and the house of Joseph its territory in the north.	5 Dividi entre vós a terra em sete partes; Judá fique nos seus limites da banda do meio-dia, e a casa de José da banda do setentrião.
6 You shall bring here to me the description of the land in seven sections. I will then cast lots for you here before the LORD, our God.	6 A terra intermédia dividi-a em sete partes; depois vireis aqui ter comigo, para que eu aqui na presença do Senhor vosso Deus vos lance as sortes.
7 For the Levites have no share among you, because the priesthood of the LORD is their heritage; while Gad, Reuben, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have already received the heritage east of the Jordan which Moses, the servant of the LORD, gave them."	7 Os Levitas não têm entre vós parte alguma, mas a sua herança é o sacerdócio do Senhor. Gad, Ruben e a meia tribo de Manassés, já receberam as suas porções do outro lado do Jordão ao nascente, as quais lhes deu Moisés, servo do Senhor.
8 When those who were to map out the land were ready for the journey, Joshua instructed them to survey the land, prepare a description of it, and return to him; then he would cast lots for them there before the LORD in Shiloh.	8 Quando aqueles homens se levantaram para ir fazer a demarcação da terra, Josué deu-lhes esta ordem: Dai volta à terra, demarcai-a, voltai a mim, para que eu vos lance as sortes aqui em Silo diante do Senhor.
9 So they went through the land, listed its cities in writing in seven sections, and returned to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh.	9 Partiram pois, e, conhecendo-a cuidadosamente, dividiram-na em sete partes, que descreveram num livro. E voltaram a Josué no acampamento de Silo.
10 Joshua then divided up the land for the Israelites into their separate shares, casting lots for them before the LORD in Shiloh.	10 Ele lançou as sortes diante do Senhor, em Silo, e dividiu a terra em sete partes entre os filhos de Israel.
11 One lot fell to the clans of the tribe of Benjaminites. The territory allotted them lay between the descendants of Judah and those of Joseph.	11 Caiu a primeira sorte aos filhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias, para possuirem o país situado entre os filhos de Judá e os filhos de José.
12 Their northern boundary began at the Jordan and went over the northern flank of Jericho, up westward into the mountains, till it reached the desert of Beth-aven.	12 A sua fronteira para a banda do setentrião parte do Jordão, estendendo-se para a banda setentrional de Jericó, e dai sobe às montanhas para o poente, chega até ao deserto de Betaven,
13 From there it crossed over to the southern flank of Luz (that is, Bethel). Then it ran down to Ataroth-addar, on the mountaintop south of Lower Beth-horon.	13 passa ao meio-dia perto de Luza, chamada também Betei, desce a Atarot-Adar, perto do monte, que está ao meio-dia de Bet-horon inferior,
14 For the western border, the boundary line swung south from the mountaintop opposite Bethhoron till it reached Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), which city belonged to the Judahites. This was the western boundary.	14 e, dando volta, declina para o mar ao meio-dia do monte, olha para Bet-horon para o Áfrico , e termina em Cariat-baal, que também se chama Cariatiarim, cidade dos filhos de Judá. Esta é a fronteira para o mar, pelo poente.
15 The southern boundary began at the limits of Kiriath-jearim and projected to the spring at Nephtoah.	15 Pelo meio-dia, a sua fronteira vai da parte de Cariatiarim pra o mar, e chega até à fonte das águas de Neftoa;
16 It went down to the edge of the mountain on the north of the Valley of Rephaim, where it faces the Valley of Ben-hinnom; and continuing down the Valley of Hinnom along the southern flank of the Jebusites, reached En-rogel.	16 (em seguida) desce até àquela parte do monte, que olha para o vale dos filhos de Enom, e que está ao setentrião, na extremidade do vale dos Befains; depois desce a Geenom (isto é, ao vale de Enom) ao lado do Jebuseu, pelo meio-dia, e chega até à fonte de Rogel,
17 Inclining to the north, it extended to En-shemesh, and thence to Geliloth, opposite the pass of Adummim. Then it dropped to Eben-Bohan-ben-Reuben,	17 passando para o norte, e estendendo-se até Ensemes, isto é, a fonte do Sol;
18 across the northern flank of the Arabah overlook, down into the Aarabah.	18 passa depois até aos cabeços, que estão defronte da subida de Adomim, e desce a Abendoen, isto é, a pedra de Boen, filho de Ruben, passa pelo lado do norte até à campina e desce à planície;
19 From there the boundary continued across the northern flank of Beth-hoglah and extended to the northern tip of the Salt Sea, at the southern end of the Jordan. This was the southern boundary.	19 depois avança para o setentrião, além de Bet-hagla, e termina na ponta setentrional do Mar do Sal, na embocadura do Jordão, que olha para o meio-dia.
20 The Jordan bounded it on the east. This was how the heritage of the clans of the Benjaminites was bounded on all sides.	20 O Jordão é o seu limite pelo oriente. Esta é a herança dos filhos de Benjamim, segundo os seus limites à roda, e segundo as suas famílias.
21 Now the cities belonging to the clans of the tribe of the Benjaminites were: Jericho, Beth-hoglah, Emek-keziz,	21 As suas cidades foram: Jericó, Bet-hagla, o vale de Casis,
22 Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel,	22 Bet-Araba, Samaraim, Betel,
23 Avvim, Parah, Ophrah,	23 Avim, Pará, Ofera,
24 Chephar-ammoni, Ophni and Geba; twelve cities and their villages.	24 a cidade de Emona, Ofni e Gabee: doze cidades com as suas aldeias.
25 Also Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth,	25 Gabaon, Rama, Berot,
26 Mizpeh, Chephirah, Mozah,	26 Mesfe, Cafara, Amosa,
27 Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah,	27 Reeem, Jarefel, Tarela,
28 Zela, Haeleph, the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah and Kiriath; fourteen cities and their villages. This was the heritage of the clans of Benjaminites.	28 Sela, Elef, Jebus, que é Jerusalém, Gabaat e Cariat: catorze cidades com as suas aldeias. Esta é a herança dos fiIhos de Benjamim, segundo as suas famílias.
