Joshua 18

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 After they had subdued the land, the whole community of the Israelites assembled at Shiloh, where they set up the meeting tent.	1 واجتمع كل جماعة بني اسرائيل في شيلوه ونصبوا هناك خيمة الاجتماع. وأخضعت الارض قدامهم.
2 Seven tribes among the Israelites had not yet received their heritage.	2 وبقي من بني اسرائيل ممن لم يقسموا نصيبهم سبعة اسباط.
3 Joshua therefore said to the Israelites, "How much longer will you put off taking steps to possess the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you?	3 فقال يشوع لبني اسرائيل حتى متى انتم متراخون عن الدخول لامتلاك الارض التي اعطاكم اياها الرب اله آبائكم.
4 Choose three men from each of your tribes; I will commission them to begin a survey of the land, which they shall describe for purposes of inheritance. When they return to me	4 هاتوا ثلاثة رجال من كل سبط فارسلهم فيقوموا ويسيروا في الارض ويكتبوها بحسب انصبتهم ثم يأتوا اليّ.
5 you shall divide it into seven parts. Judah is to retain its territory in the south, and the house of Joseph its territory in the north.	5 وليقسموها الى سبعة اقسام فيقيم يهوذا على تخمه من الجنوب ويقيم بيت يوسف على تخمهم من الشمال.
6 You shall bring here to me the description of the land in seven sections. I will then cast lots for you here before the LORD, our God.	6 وانتم تكتبون الارض سبعة اقسام ثم تأتون اليّ هنا فالقي لكم قرعة ههنا امام الرب الهنا.
7 For the Levites have no share among you, because the priesthood of the LORD is their heritage; while Gad, Reuben, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have already received the heritage east of the Jordan which Moses, the servant of the LORD, gave them."	7 لانه ليس للاويين قسم في وسطكم لان كهنوت الرب هو نصيبهم وجاد ورأوبين ونصف سبط منسّى قد اخذوا نصيبهم في عبر الاردن نحو الشروق الذي اعطاهم اياه موسى عبد الرب.
8 When those who were to map out the land were ready for the journey, Joshua instructed them to survey the land, prepare a description of it, and return to him; then he would cast lots for them there before the LORD in Shiloh.	8 فقام الرجال وذهبوا. واوصى يشوع الذاهبين لكتابة الارض قائلا. اذهبوا وسيروا في الارض واكتبوها ثم ارجعوا اليّ فالقي لكم هنا قرعة امام الرب في شيلوه.
9 So they went through the land, listed its cities in writing in seven sections, and returned to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh.	9 فسار الرجال وعبروا في الارض وكتبوها حسب المدن سبعة اقسام في سفر ثم جاءوا الى يشوع الى المحلّة في شيلوه.
10 Joshua then divided up the land for the Israelites into their separate shares, casting lots for them before the LORD in Shiloh.	10 فالقى لهم يشوع قرعة في شيلوه امام الرب وهناك قسم يشوع الارض لبني اسرائيل حسب فرقهم
11 One lot fell to the clans of the tribe of Benjaminites. The territory allotted them lay between the descendants of Judah and those of Joseph.	11 وطلعت قرعة سبط بني بنيامين حسب عشائرهم. وخرج تخم قرعتهم بين بني يهوذا وبني يوسف.
12 Their northern boundary began at the Jordan and went over the northern flank of Jericho, up westward into the mountains, till it reached the desert of Beth-aven.	12 وكان تخمهم من جهة الشمال من الاردن. وصعد التخم الى جانب اريحا من الشمال وصعد في الجبل غربا وكانت مخارجه عند برية بيت آون.
13 From there it crossed over to the southern flank of Luz (that is, Bethel). Then it ran down to Ataroth-addar, on the mountaintop south of Lower Beth-horon.	13 وعبر التخم من هناك الى لوز الى جانب لوز الجنوبي. هي بيت ايل. ونزل التخم الى عطاروت ادّار على الجبل الذي الى جنوب بيت حورون السفلى.
14 For the western border, the boundary line swung south from the mountaintop opposite Bethhoron till it reached Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), which city belonged to the Judahites. This was the western boundary.	14 وامتد التخم ودار الى جهة الغرب جنوبا من الجبل الذي مقابل بيت حورون جنوبا. وكانت مخارجه عند قرية بعل. هي قرية يعاريم. مدينة لبني يهوذا. هذه هي جهة الغرب.
15 The southern boundary began at the limits of Kiriath-jearim and projected to the spring at Nephtoah.	15 وجهة الجنوب هي اقصى قرية يعاريم وخرج التخم غربا وخرج الى منبع مياه نفتوح.
16 It went down to the edge of the mountain on the north of the Valley of Rephaim, where it faces the Valley of Ben-hinnom; and continuing down the Valley of Hinnom along the southern flank of the Jebusites, reached En-rogel.	16 ونزل التخم الى طرف الجبل الذي مقابل وادي ابن هنوم الذي في وادي الرفائيين شمالا ونزل الى وادي هنوم الى جانب اليبوسيين من الجنوب ونزل الى عين روجل
17 Inclining to the north, it extended to En-shemesh, and thence to Geliloth, opposite the pass of Adummim. Then it dropped to Eben-Bohan-ben-Reuben,	17 وامتد من الشمال وخرج الى عين شمس وخرج الى جليلوت التي مقابل عقبة ادميم ونزل الى حجر بوهن بن رأوبين
18 across the northern flank of the Arabah overlook, down into the Aarabah.	18 وعبر الى الكتف مقابل العربة شمالا ونزل الى العربة.
19 From there the boundary continued across the northern flank of Beth-hoglah and extended to the northern tip of the Salt Sea, at the southern end of the Jordan. This was the southern boundary.	19 وعبر التخم الى جانب بيت حجلة شمالا وكانت مخارج التخم عند لسان بحر الملح شمالا الى طرف الاردن جنوبا هذا هو تخم الجنوب.
20 The Jordan bounded it on the east. This was how the heritage of the clans of the Benjaminites was bounded on all sides.	20 والاردن يتخمه من جهة الشرق. فهذا هو نصيب بني بنيامين مع تخومه مستديرا حسب عشائرهم
21 Now the cities belonging to the clans of the tribe of the Benjaminites were: Jericho, Beth-hoglah, Emek-keziz,	21 وكانت مدن سبط بني بنيامين حسب عشائرهم اريحا وبيت حجلة ووادي قصيص
22 Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel,	22 وبيت العربة وصمارايم وبيت ايل
23 Avvim, Parah, Ophrah,	23 والعوّيم والفارة وعفرة
24 Chephar-ammoni, Ophni and Geba; twelve cities and their villages.	24 وكفر العموني والعفني وجبع ست عشرة مدينة مع ضياعها.
25 Also Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth,	25 جبعون والرامة وبئيروت
26 Mizpeh, Chephirah, Mozah,	26 والمصفاة والكفيرة والموصة
27 Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah,	27 وراقم ويرفئيل وترالة
28 Zela, Haeleph, the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah and Kiriath; fourteen cities and their villages. This was the heritage of the clans of Benjaminites.	28 وصيلع وآلف واليبوسي. هي اورشليم. وجبعة وقرية. اربع عشرة مدينة مع ضياعها. هذا هو نصيب بني بنيامين حسب عشائرهم
