Deuteronomy 24

1 "When a man, after marrying a woman and having relations with her, is later displeased with her because he finds in her something indecent, and therefore he writes out a bill of divorce and hands it to her, thus dismissing her from his house:	1 QUANDO alcuno avrà presa moglie, e sarà abitato con lei; se poi ella non gli aggrada, perchè egli avrà trovata in lei alcuna cosa brutta; scrivale il libello del ripudio, e diaglielo in mano; e così mandila fuor di casa sua.
2 if on leaving his house she goes and becomes the wife of another man,	2 E s’ella, essendo uscita di casa di colui, e andatasene, si marita ad un altro uomo;
3 and the second husband, too, comes to dislike her and dismisses her from his house by handing her a written bill of divorce; or if this second man who has married her, dies;	3 e quest’ultimo marito prende ad odiarla, e le scrive il libello del ripudio, e glielo dà in mano, e la manda fuor di casa sua; ovvero, quest’ultimo marito, che se l’avea presa per moglie, muore;
4 then her former husband, who dismissed her, may not again take her as his wife after she has become defiled. That would be an abomination before the LORD, and you shall not bring such guilt upon the land which the LORD, your God, is giving you as a heritage.	4 non possa il suo primiero marito, il qual l’avea mandata via, tornare a prenderla per essergli moglie, dopo che avrà fatto ch’ella si sia contaminata; perchè ciò è cosa abbominevole nel cospetto del Signore; e non far sì che il paese che il Signore Iddio tuo ti dà in eredità, sia reo di peccato
5 "When a man is newly wed, he need not go out on a military expedition, nor shall any public duty be imposed on him. He shall be exempt for one year for the sake of his family, to bring joy to the wife he has married.	5 Quando alcuno avrà presa novellamente moglie, non vada alla guerra, e non siagli imposto affare alcuno; stia esente in casa sua un anno, e sollazzi la sua moglie ch’egli avrà presa.
6 "No one shall take a hand mill or even its upper stone as a pledge for debt, for he would be taking the debtor's sustenance as a pledge.	6 NON prenda alcuno in pegno macine, non pur la mola disopra; perciocchè egli prenderebbe in pegno la vita del suo prossimo.
7 "If any man is caught kidnaping a fellow Israelite in order to enslave him and sell him, the kidnaper shall be put to death. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst.	7 Quando si troverà alcuno che abbia rubato un uomo d’infra i suoi fratelli, figliuoli d’Israele, e ne abbia fatto traffico, e l’abbia venduto, muoia quel ladro; e togli il mal del mezzo di te.
8 "In an attack of leprosy you shall be careful to observe exactly and to carry out all the directions of the levitical priests. Take care to act in accordance with the instructions I have given them.	8 Prendi guardia alla piaga della lebbra, per osservar diligentemente di far secondo tutto ciò che i sacerdoti Leviti vi avranno insegnato; prendete guardia di fare come io ho loro comandato.
9 Remember what the LORD, your God, did to Miriam on the journey after you left Egypt.	9 Ricordati di ciò che il Signore Iddio tuo fece a Maria, nel cammino, dopo che foste usciti di Egitto.
10 "When you make a loan of any kind to your neighbor, you shall not enter his house to receive a pledge from him,	10 Quando tu farai alcun presto al tuo prossimo, non entrare in casa sua, per prender pegno da lui.
11 but shall wait outside until the man to whom you are making the loan brings his pledge outside to you.	11 Stattene fuori, e portiti colui, al qual tu farai il presto, il pegno fuori.
12 If he is a poor man, you shall not sleep in the mantle he gives as a pledge,	12 E s’egli è povero uomo, non ti porre a giacere, avendo ancora il suo pegno.
13 but shall return it to him at sunset that he himself may sleep in it. Then he will bless you, and it will be a good deed of yours before the LORD, your God.	13 Del tutto rendigli il pegno, al tramontar del sole; acciocchè egli possa giacer ne’ suoi panni, e ti benedica; e ciò ti sarà giustizia nel cospetto del Signore Iddio tuo
14 "You shall not defraud a poor and needy hired servant, whether he be one of your own countrymen or one of the aliens who live in your communities.	14 Non fraudare il mercenario povero e bisognoso, chi ch’egli si sia de’ tuoi fratelli, o de’ forestieri che saranno nel tuo paese, dentro alle tue porte.
15 You shall pay him each day's wages before sundown on the day itself, since he is poor and looks forward to them. Otherwise he will cry to the LORD against you, and you will be held guilty.	15 Dagli il suo premio al suo giorno, e non tramonti il sole avanti che tu gliel’abbia dato; conciossiachè egli sia povero, e che l’anima sua s’erga a quello; acciocchè egli non gridi contro a te al Signore, e non vi sia in te peccato.
16 "Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children for their fathers; only for his own guilt shall a man be put to death.	16 Non facciansi morire i padri per li figliuoli, nè i figliuoli per li padri; facciasi morir ciascuno per lo suo proprio peccato.
17 "You shall not violate the rights of the alien or of the orphan, nor take the clothing of a widow as a pledge.	17 NON pervertire la ragione del forestiere, nè dell’orfano; e non prender in pegno i panni della vedova.
18 For, remember, you were once slaves in Egypt, and the LORD, your God, ransomed you from there; that is why I command you to observe this rule.	18 E ricordati che tu sei stato servo in Egitto, e che il Signore Iddio tuo te ne ha riscosso; perciò io ti comando che tu faccia questo.
19 "When you reap the harvest in your field and overlook a sheaf there, you shall not go back to get it; let it be for the alien, the orphan or the widow, that the LORD, your God, may bless you in all your undertakings.	19 Quando tu avrai mietuta la tua ricolta nel tuo campo, e avrai dimenticata alcuna menata nel campo, non tornare indietro per prenderla; sia per lo forestiere, per l’orfano, e per la vedova; acciocchè il Signore Iddio tuo ti benedica in tutta l’opera delle tue mani.
20 When you knock down the fruit of your olive trees, you shall not go over the branches a second time; let what remains be for the alien, the orphan and the widow.	20 Quando tu avrai scossi i tuoi ulivi, non ricercare a ramo a ramo ciò che vi sarà rimasto dietro a te; sia per lo forestiere, per l’orfano, e per la vedova.
21 When you pick your grapes, you shall not go over the vineyard a second time; let what remains be for the alien, the orphan, and the widow.	21 Quando tu avrai vendemmiata la tua vigna, non raspollare i grappoli rimasti dietro a te; sieno per lo forestiere, per l’orfano, e per la vedova.
22 For remember that you were once slaves in Egypt; that is why I command you to observe this rule.	22 E ricordati che tu sei stato servo nel paese di Egitto; per ciò io ti comando che tu faccia questo
