1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:	1 Une parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
2 Son of man, turn toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them:	2 “Fils d’homme, tourne ton regard vers les montagnes d’Israël et prophétise contre elles.
3 Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD. Thus says the Lord GOD (to the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys): See, I am bringing a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places.	3 Tu diras: Montagnes d’Israël, écoutez la parole de Yahvé. Voici ce que dit Yahvé aux montagnes et aux collines, aux ravins et aux vallées: “Je fais venir contre vous l’épée, je vais détruire vos Hauts-Lieux.
4 Your altars shall be laid waste, your incense stands shall be broken, and I will cast down your slain ones before your idols;	4 Vos autels seront abattus, vos autels à parfum seront brisés. Je ferai que vos habitants soient massacrés devant vos idoles.
5 I will scatter their bones all around your altars.	5 ( ) Je disperserai vos ossements autour de vos autels.
6 In all your dwelling places cities shall be made desolate and high places laid waste, so that your altars will be made desolate and laid waste, your idols broken and removed, and your incense stands smashed to bits.	6 Partout où vous habitez, les villes seront dévastées et les Hauts-Lieux abattus; vos autels seront abandonnés, vos idoles brisées, vos autels à parfum renversés.
7 (The slain shall fall in your midst, and you shall know that I am the LORD.	7 Vos habitants seront massacrés au milieu de vous et vous saurez que je suis Yahvé.
8 I have warned you.) When some of your people have escaped to other nations from the sword, and have been scattered over the foreign lands,	8 Quelques uns, cependant échapperont à l’épée, je vous laisserai un reste parmi les nations lorsque je vous aurai dispersés au milieu d’elles.
9 then those who have escaped will remember me among the nations to which they have been exiled, after I have broken their adulterous hearts that turned away from me (and their eyes which lusted after idols). They shall loathe themselves because of their evil deeds, all their abominations.	9 Les survivants se souviendront de moi au milieu des nations où je veux qu’ils soient prisonniers; je briserai leur cœur adultère qui s’est détourné de moi, et leurs yeux adultères qui regardaient vers les idoles, ils auront honte d’eux-mêmes pour tout le mal qu’ils ont fait et les horreurs qu’ils ont commises.
10 Then they shall know that it was not in vain that I, the LORD, threatened to inflict this calamity upon them.	10 Alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé ( ).
11 Thus says the Lord GOD: Clap your hands, stamp your feet, and cry "Alas!" because of all the abominations of the house of Israel, for which they shall fall by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.	11 Voici ce que dit Yahvé: Frappe dans ta main, tape du pied et dis: Bien fait! Quand tu verras la maison d’Israël tomber sous l’épée, la famine et la peste, tu te rappelleras toutes ses sales ordures.
12 He that is far off shall die of pestilence, he that is near shall fall by the sword, and he that is besieged shall perish by famine; so will I spend my fury upon them.	12 Celui qui sera au loin mourra par la peste, celui qui sera près tombera sous l’épée, le survivant mourra de faim: ma colère se déchargera jusqu’au bout.
13 Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when their slain shall lie amid their idols, all about their altars, on every high hill and mountaintop, beneath every green tree and leafy oak, wherever they offered appeasing odors to any of their gods.	13 Vous saurez que je suis Yahvé quand les morts seront couchés au milieu de leurs idoles, près de leurs autels, sur toutes les collines élevées, sous tout arbre vert et sous tout chêne feuillu, partout où ils ont offert à leurs ordures la bonne odeur de l’encens.
14 I will stretch out my hand against them, and wherever they live I will make the land a desolate waste, from the desert to Riblah; thus shall they know that I am the LORD.	14 Je les frapperai d’un grand coup, je ferai de leur pays une solitude, une ruine partout où ils habitent, depuis le désert jusqu’à Ribla. Alors ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.
