1 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron,	1 Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse et à Aaron, et Il leur dit:
2 "If someone has on his skin a scab or pustule or blotch which appears to be the sore of leprosy, he shall be brought to Aaron, the priest, or to one of the priests among his descendants,	2 L'homme dans la peau ou dans la chair duquel il se sera formé une diversité de couleur, ou une pustule, ou quelque chose de luisant qui paraisse la plaie de la lèpre, sera amené au prêtre Aaron ou à quelqu'un de ses fils.
3 who shall examine the sore on his skin. If the hair on the sore has turned white and the sore itself shows that it has penetrated below the skin, it is indeed the sore of leprosy; the priest, on seeing this, shall declare the man unclean.	3 Et s'il voit que la lèpre paraisse sur la peau, que le poil ait changé de couleur et soit devenu blanc, que les endroits où la lèpre paraît soient plus enfoncés que la peau et que le reste de la chair, il déclarera que c'est la plaie de la lèpre, et il le fera séparer de la compagnie des autres.
4 If, however, the blotch on the skin is white, but does not seem to have penetrated below the skin, nor has the hair turned white, the priest shall quarantine the stricken man for seven days.	4 Que s'il paraît une blancheur luisante sur la peau, sans que cet endroit soit plus enfoncé que le reste de la chair, et si le poil est de la couleur qu'il a toujours eue, le prêtre le renfermera pendant sept jours;
5 On the seventh day the priest shall again examine him. If he judges that the sore has remained unchanged and has not spread on the skin, the priest shall quarantine him for another seven days,	5 Et il le considérera le septième jour; et si la lèpre n'a pas crû davantage, et n'a point pénétré dans la peau plus qu'auparavant, il le renfermera encore sept autres jours.
6 and once more examine him on the seventh day. If the sore is now dying out and has not spread on the skin, the priest shall declare the man clean; it was merely eczema. The man shall wash his garments and so become clean.	6 Au septième jour il le consdérera, et si la lèpre paraît plus obscure et ne s'est point plus répandue sur la peau, il le déclarera pur, parce que c'est la gale, et non la lèpre; cet homme lavera ses vêtements, et il sera pur.
7 But if, after he has shown himself to the priest to be declared clean, the eczema spreads at all on his skin, he shall once more show himself to the priest.	7 Que si après qu'il aura été vu par le prêtre et déclaré pur, la lèpre croît de nouveau, on le lui ramènera,
8 Should the priest, on examining it, find that the eczema has indeed spread on the skin, he shall declare the man unclean; it is leprosy.	8 Et il sera condamné comme impur.
9 "When someone is stricken with leprosy, he shall be brought to the priest.	9 Si la plaie de la lèpre se trouve en un homme, on l'amènera au prêtre,
10 Should the priest, on examining him, find that there is a white scab on the skin which has turned the hair white and that there is raw flesh in it,	10 Et il le considérera; et lorsqu'il paraîtra sur la peau une couleur blanche, que les cheveux auront changé de couleur, et qu'on verra même paraître la chair vive,
11 it is skin leprosy that has long developed. The priest shall declare the man unclean without first quarantining him, since he is certainly unclean.	11 On jugera que c'est une lèpre très invétérée et enracinée dans la peau. C'est pourquoi le prêtre le déclarera impur, et il ne le renfermera point, parce que son impureté est toute visible.
12 If leprosy breaks out on the skin and, as far as the priest can see, covers all the skin of the stricken man from head to foot,	12 Que si la lèpre paraît comme en fleur, en sorte qu'elle coure sur la peau, et qu'elle la couvre depuis la tête jusqu'aux pieds, dans tout ce qui en peut paraître à la vue,
13 should the priest then, on examining him, find that the leprosy does cover his whole body, he shall declare the stricken man clean; since it has all turned white, the man is clean.	13 Le prêtre le considérera, et il jugera que la lèpre qu'il a est la plus pure de toutes, parce qu'elle est devenue toute blanche; c'est pourquoi cet homme sera déclaré pur.
14 But as soon as raw flesh appears on him, he is unclean;	14 Mais quand la chair vive paraîtra sur lui,
15 on observing the raw flesh, the priest shall declare him unclean, because raw flesh is unclean; it is leprosy.	15 Alors il sera déclaré impur par le jugement du prêtre, et il sera mis au rang des impurs. Car si la chair vive est mêlée de lèpre, elle est impure.
16 If, however, the raw flesh again turns white, he shall return to the priest;	16 Que si elle se change et devient encore toute blanche, et qu'elle couvre l'homme tout entier,
17 should the latter, on examining him, find that the sore has indeed turned white, he shall declare the stricken man clean, and thus he will be clean.	17 Le prêtre le considérera et déclarera qu'il est pur.
18 "If a man who had a boil on his skin which later healed,	18 Quand il y aura eu dans la chair ou dans la peau de quelqu'un un ulcère qui aura été guéri,
19 should now in the place of the boil have a white scab or a pink blotch, he shall show himself to the priest.	19 Et qu'il paraîtra une cicatrice blanche ou tirant sur le roux au lieu où était l'ulcère, on amènera cet homme au prêtre,
20 If the latter, on examination, sees that it is deeper than the skin and that the hair has turned white, he shall declare the man unclean; it is the sore of leprosy that has broken out in the boil.	20 Qui, voyant que l'endroit de la lèpre est plus enfoncê que le reste de la chair et que le poil s'est changé et est devenu blanc, le déclarera impur; car c'est la plaie de la lèpre qui s'est formée dans l'ulcère.
21 But if the priest, on examining him, finds that there is no white hair in it and that it is not deeper than the skin and is already dying out, the priest shall quarantine him for seven days.	21 Que si le poil est de la couleur qu'il a toujours eue et la cicatrice un peu obscure, sans être plus enfoncée que la chair du voisinage, le prêtre le renfermera pendant sept jours.
22 If it has then spread on the skin, the priest shall declare him unclean; the man is stricken.	22 Et si le mal croît, il déclarera que c'est la lèpre.
23 But if the blotch remains in its place without spreading, it is merely the scar of the boil; the priest shall therefore declare him clean.	23 S'il s'arrête dans le même lieu, c'est seulement la cicatrice de l'ulcère, et l'homme sera déclaré pur.
24 "If a man had a burn on his skin, and the proud flesh of the burn now becomes a pink or a white blotch,	24 Lorsqu'un homme aura été brûlé dans la chair ou sur la peau, et que, la brûlure étant guérie, la cicatrice en deviendra blanche ou rousse,
25 the priest shall examine it. If the hair has turned white on the blotch and this seems to have penetrated below the skin, it is leprosy that has broken out in the burn; the priest shall therefore declare him unclean and stricken with leprosy.	25 Le prêtre la considérera, et s'il voit qu'elle est devenue toute blanche, et que cet endroit est plus enfoncé que le reste de la peau, il le déclarera impur, parce que la plaie de la lèpre s'est formée dans la cicatrice.
26 But if the priest, on examining it, finds that there is no white hair on the blotch and that this is not deeper than the skin and is already dying out, the priest shall quarantine him for seven days.	26 Si le poil n'a pas changé de couleur, si l'endroit blessé n'est pas plus enfoncé que le reste de la chair, et si la lèpre même paraît un peu obscure, le prêtre le renfermera pendant sept jours,
27 Should the priest, when examining it on the seventh day, find that it has spread at all on the skin, he shall declare the man unclean and stricken with leprosy.	27 Et il le considérera le septième jour. Si la lèpre s'est étendue sur la peau, il le déclarera impur.
28 But if the blotch remains in its place without spreading on the skin and is already dying out, it is merely the scab of the burn; the priest shall therefore declare the man clean, since it is only the scar of the burn.	28 Si cette tache blanche s'arrête au même endroit et devient un peu plus sombre, c'est seulement la plaie de la brûlure; c'est pourquoi il sera déclaré pur, parce que cette cicatrice est l'effet du feu qui l'a brûlé.
29 "When a man or a woman has a sore on the head or cheek,	29 Si la lèpre paraît et pousse sur la tête ou au menton d'un homme ou d'une femme, le prêtre les considérera;
30 should the priest, on examining it, find that the sore has penetrated below the skin and that there is fine yellow hair on it, the priest shall declare the person unclean, for this is scall, a leprous disease of the head or cheek.	30 Et si cet endroit est plus enfoncé que le reste de la chair, et le poil tirant sur le jaune, et plus délié qu'à l'ordinaire, il les déclarera impurs, parce que c'est la lèpre de la tête et du menton.
31 But if the priest, on examining the scall sore, finds that it has not penetrated below the skin, though the hair on it may not be black, the priest shall quarantine the person with scall sore for seven days,	31 Mais s'il voit que l'endroit de la tache est égal à la chair d'auprès, et que le poil soit noir, il renfermera le malade pendant sept jours,
32 and on the seventh day again examine the sore. If the scall has not spread and has no yellow hair on it and does not seem to have penetrated below the skin,	32 Et il le considérera le septième jour. Si la tache ne s'est point agrandie, si le poil a retenu sa couleur, et si l'endroit du mal est égal à tout le reste de la chair,
33 the man shall shave himself, but not on the diseased spot. Then the priest shall quarantine him for another seven days.	33 On rasera tout le poil de l'homme, excepté l'endroit de cette tache, et on le renfermera pendant sept autres jours.
34 If the priest, when examining the scall on the seventh day, finds that it has not spread on the skin and that it has not penetrated below the skin, he shall declare the man clean; the latter shall wash his garments, and thus he will be clean.	34 Le septième jour, si le mal semble s'être arrêté dans le même endroit, et s'il n'est point plus enfoncé que le reste de la chair, le prêtre le déclarera pur, et après avoir lavé ses vêtements, il sera tout à fait pur.
35 But if the scall spreads at all on his skin after he has been declared clean,	35 Si, après qu'il aura été jugé pur, cette tache croît encore sur la peau,
36 the priest shall again examine it. If the scall has indeed spread on the skin, he need not look for yellow hair; the man is surely unclean.	36 On ne recherchera plus si le poil a changé de couleur et est devenu jaune, parce qu'il est visiblement impur.
37 If, however, he judges that the scall has remained in its place and that black hair has grown on it, the disease has been healed; the man is clean, and the priest shall declare him clean.	37 Mais si la tache demeure dans le même état, et si le poil est noir, que le prêtre reconnaisse par là que l'homme est guéri, et qu'il pronnonce sans rien craindre qu'il est pur.
38 "When the skin of a man or a woman is spotted with white blotches,	38 S'il paraît une blancheur sur la peau d'un homme ou d'une femme,
39 the priest shall make an examination. If the blotches on the skin are white and already dying out, it is only tetter that has broken out on the skin, and the person therefore is clean.	39 Le prêtre les considérera, et s'il reconnaît que cette blancheur qui paraît sur la peau est un peu sombre, qu'il sache que ce n'est point la lèpre, mais seulement une tache d'une couleur blanche, et que l'homme est pur.
40 "When a man loses the hair of his head, he is not unclean merely because of his bald crown.	40 Lorsque les cheveux tombent de la tête d'un homme, il devient chauve, et il est pur.
41 So too, if he loses the hair on the front of his head, he is not unclean merely because of his bald forehead.	41 Si les cheveux tombent du devant de la tête, il est chauve par devant, et il est pur.
42 But when there is a pink sore on his bald crown or bald forehead, it is leprosy that is breaking out there.	42 Que si sur la peau de la tête, ou du devant de la tête qui est sans cheveux, il se forme une tache blanche ou rousse,
43 The priest shall examine him; and if the scab on the sore of the bald spot has the same pink appearance as that of skin leprosy of the fleshy part of the body,	43 Le prêtre, l'ayant vue, le condamnera indubitablement, comme frappé d'une lèpre qui s'est formée au lieu d'où ses cheveux sont tombés.
44 the man is leprous and unclean, and the priest shall declare him unclean by reason of the sore on his head.	44 Tout homme donc qui sera infecté de lèpre, et qui aura été séparé des autres par le jugement du prêtre,
45 "The one who bears the sore of leprosy shall keep his garments rent and his head bare, and shall muffle his beard; he shall cry out, 'Unclean, unclean!'	45 Aura ses vêtements décousus, la tête nue, le visage couvert de son vêtement, et il criera qu'il est impur et souillé.
46 As long as the sore is on him he shall declare himself unclean, since he is in fact unclean. He shall dwell apart, making his abode outside the camp.	46 Pendant tout le temps qu'il sera lépreux et impur, il demeurera seul hors du camp.
47 "When a leprous infection is on a garment of wool or of linen,	47 Si un vêtement de laine ou de lin est infecté de lèpre
48 or on woven or knitted material of linen or wool, or on a hide or anything made of leather,	48 Dans la chaîne ou dans la trame, ou si c'est une peau ou quelque chose fait de peau,
49 if the infection on the garment or hide, or on the woven or knitted material, or on any leather article is greenish or reddish, the thing is indeed infected with leprosy and must be shown to the priest.	49 Quand on y verra des taches blanches ou rousses, on jugera que c'est la lèpre, et on les fera voir au prêtre,
50 Having examined the infection, the priest shall quarantine the infected article for seven days.	50 Qui, les ayant considérés, les tiendra enfermés pendant sept jours.
51 "On the seventh day the priest shall again examine the infection. If it has spread on the garment, or on the woven or knitted material, or on the leather, whatever be its use, the infection is malignant leprosy, and the article is unclean.	51 Le septième jour il les considérera encore, et s'il reconnaît que ces taches se sont accrues, ce sera une lèpre enracinée; il jugera que ces vêtements et toutes les autres choses où ces taches se trouveront sont souillés;
52 He shall therefore burn up the garment, or the woven or knitted material of wool or linen, or the leather article, whatever it may be, which is infected; since it has malignant leprosy, it must be destroyed by fire.	52 C'est pourquoi on les consumera par le feu.
53 But if the priest, on examining the infection, finds that it has not spread on the garment, or on the woven or knitted material, or on the leather article,	53 S'il voit que les taches ne se sont point accrues,
54 he shall give orders to have the infected article washed and then quarantined for another seven days.	54 Il ordonnera qu'on lave ce qui paraît infecté de lèpre, et il le tiendra enfermé pendant sept jours.
55 "Then the priest shall again examine the infected article after it has been washed. If the infection has not changed its appearance, even though it may not have spread, the article is unclean and shall be destroyed by fire.	55 Et voyant qu'il n'a point repris sa première couleur, quoique la lèpre ne soit pas augmentée, il jugera que ce vêtement est impur, et il le brûlera dans le feu, parce que la lèpre s'est répandue sur la surface ou l'a même tout pénétré.
56 But if the priest, on examining the infection, finds that it is dying out after the washing, he shall tear the infected part out of the garment, or the leather, or the woven or knitted material.	56 Mais si, après que le vêtement aura été lavé, l'endroit de la lèpre est plus sombre, il le déchirera et le séparera du reste.
57 If, however, the infection again appears on the garment, or on the woven or knitted material, or on the leather article, it is still virulent and the thing infected shall be destroyed by fire.	57 Que si, après cela, il paraît encore une lèpre vague et volante dans les endroits qui étaient sans tache auparavant, le tout doit être brûlé.
58 But if, after the washing, the infection has left the garment, or the woven or knitted material, or the leather article, the thing shall be washed a second time, and thus it will be clean.	58 Si ces taches s'en vont, on lavera une seconde fois avec l'eau les parties pures, et elles seront purifiées.
59 This is the law for leprous infection on a garment of wool or linen, or on woven or knitted material, or on any leather article, to determine whether it is clean or unclean."	59 C'est là la loi touchant la lèpre d'un vêtement de laine ou de lin, de la chaîne ou de la trame, et de tout ce qui est fait de peau, afin qu'on sache comment on le doit juger, ou pur ou impur.
