Isaiah 3

1 The Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall take away from Jerusalem and from Judah support and prop (all supplies of bread and water):	1 Eis que o dominador, o Senhor dos exércitos está para tirar de Jerusalém e de Judá todo o sustento e todo o amparo, todo o recurso do pão e todo o recurso da água,
2 Hero and warrior, judge and prophet, fortune-teller and elder,	2 o homem forte e o guerreiro, o juiz e o profeta, o adivinho e o ancião,
3 The captain of fifty and the nobleman, counselor, skilled magician, and expert charmer.	3 o chefe de cinqüenta (homens), o grande e o conselheiro, o conhecedor de segredos e o entendido em encantamentos.
4 I will make striplings their princes; the fickle shall govern them,	4 Dar-lhes-ei meninos por príncipes, e dominá-los-ão efeminados.
5 And the people shall oppress one another, yes, every man his neighbor. The child shall be bold toward the elder, and the base toward the honorable.	5 O povo se entrechocará, homem contra homem, cada um contra o seu próximo; levantar-se-á o jovem contra o velho, e o plebeu contra o nobre.
6 When a man seizes his brother in his father's house, saying, "You have clothes! Be our ruler, and take in hand this ruin!"--	6 Tomará um o seu próprio irmão, na casa de seu pai, (e lhe dirá): Tu tens um manto, sê nosso príncipe e põe esta ruína sob o teu poder.
7 Then shall he answer in that day: "I will not undertake to cure this, when in my own house there is no bread or clothing! You shall not make me ruler of the people."	7 Esse tal responderá naquele dia dizendo: Não sou médico, e em minha casa não há pão nem veste; não queirais constituir-me príncipe do povo.
8 Jerusalem is crumbling, Judah is falling; for their speech and their deeds are before the LORD, a provocation in the sight of his majesty.	8 Pois Jerusalém vai-se arruinando, e Judá caindo, porque as suas palavras e as suas obras são contra o Senhor, provocam os olhos da sua majestade.
9 Their very look bears witness against them; their sin like Sodom they vaunt, They hide it not. Woe to them! they deal out evil to themselves.	9 O próprio aspecto do seu semblante depõe contra eles, pois fizeram, como os de Sodoma, pública ostentação do seu pecado, em vez de-o encobrirem. Desgraçados deles, que são os causadores da própria ruína!
10 Happy the just, for it will be well with them, the fruit of their works they will eat.	10 Dizei ao justo que ele será bem sucedido, pois comerá o fruto das suas obras.
11 Woe to the wicked man! All goes ill, with the work of his hands he will be repaid.	11 Ai do ímpio maléfico! A desgraça será sobre ele, segundo merecem as suas ações.
12 My people--a babe in arms will be their tyrant, and women will rule them! O my people, your leaders mislead, they destroy the paths you should follow.	12 O meu povo é oprimido por meninos, governado por mulheres. Povo meu, os que te dirigem, desencaminham-te, destroem o caminho que deves seguir.
13 The LORD rises to accuse, standing to try his people.	13 O Senhor levanta-se para fazer justiça, está de pé para julgar os povos,
14 The Lord enters into judgment with his people's elders and princes: It is you who have devoured the vineyard; the loot wrested from the poor is in your houses.	14 O Senhor entrará em juízo com os anciães do seu povo e com os seus príncipes: Vós devorastes a minha vinha, e as rapinas feitas ao pobre encontram-se em vossa casa.
15 What do you mean by crushing my people, and grinding down the poor when they look to you? says the Lord, the GOD of hosts.	15 Por que razão calcais aos pés o meu povo, e moeis às pancadas os rostos dos pobres? — diz o Senhor Deus dos exércitos.
16 The LORD said: Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with necks outstretched Ogling and mincing as they go, their anklets tinkling with every step,	16 Ainda disse (mais) o Senhor: Pois que as filhas de Sião se elevaram, e andaram com a cabeça emproada, lançando olhares (desavergonhados), caminhando (afetadamente) a passo miúdo, fazendo ruído com as argolas dos pés,
17 The Lord shall cover the scalps of Zion's daughters with scabs, and the LORD shall bare their heads.	17 o Senhor tornará calva a cabeça das filhas de Sião, despojá-las-á do seu cabelo.
18 On that day the LORD will do away with the finery of the anklets, sunbursts, and crescents;	18 Naquele dia lhes tirará o Senhor os seus adornos: anéis, sóis, lúnulas,
19 the pendants, bracelets, and veils;	19 arrecadas, braceletes, véus,
20 the headdresses, bangles, cinctures, perfume boxes, and amulets;	20 diademas, cadeias dos pés, cintos, caixas de perfume, amuletos,
21 the signet rings, and the nose rings;	21 anéis dos dedos e do nariz,
22 the court dresses, wraps, cloaks, and purses;	22 vestidos de festa, mantos, chales e bolsas,
23 the mirrors, linen tunics, turbans, and shawls.	23 espelhos e musselinas, turbantes e mantilhas.
24 Instead of perfume there will be stench, instead of the girdle, a rope, And for the coiffure, baldness; for the rich gown, a sackcloth skirt. Then, instead of beauty:	24 Então em lugar de cheiro suave, terão fetidez, e por cinta uma corda; em lugar de cabelos entrançados, a calvície; em lugar de vestido sumptuoso, um saco; em lugar da beleza, uma marca feita a fogo.
25 Your men will fall by the sword, and your champions, in war;	25 Também os teus homens cairão mortos à espada, e os teus valentes (sucumbirão) no combate.
26 Her gates will lament and mourn, as the city sits desolate on the ground.	26 As portas de Jerusalém estarão na tristeza e no luto e ela, desolada, sentar-se-á na terra.
