1 She preserved the first-formed father of the world when he alone had been created; And she raised him up from his fall,	1 Ella protegió al primer modelado, padre del mundo, que había sido creado solo; ella le sacó de su caída
2 and gave him power to rule all things.	2 y le dio el poder de dominar sobre todas las cosas.
3 But when the unjust man withdrew from her in his anger, he perished through his fratricidal wrath.	3 Pero cuando un injusto, en su cólera, se apartó de ella, pereció por su furor fraticida.
4 When on his account the earth was flooded, Wisdom again saved it, piloting the just man on frailest wood.	4 Cuando por su causa la tierra se vio sumergida, de nuevo la Sabiduría la salvó conduciendo al justo en un vulgar leño.
5 She, when the nations were sunk in universal wickedness, knew the just man, kept him blameless before God, and preserved him resolute against pity for his child.	5 En la confusión que siguió a la común perversión de las naciones, ella conoció al justo, le conservó irreprochable ante Dios y le mantuvo firme contra el entrañable amor a su hijo.
6 She delivered the just man from among the wicked who were being destroyed, when he fled as fire descended upon Pentapolis--	6 Ella, en el exterminio de los impíos, libró al justo cuando escapaba del fuego que bajaba sobre Pentápolis.
7 Where as a testimony to its wickedness, there yet remain a smoking desert, Plants bearing fruit that never ripens, and the tomb of a disbelieving soul, a standing pillar of salt.	7 Como testimonio de aquella maldad queda todavía una tierra desolada humeando, unas plantas cuyos frutos no alcanzan sazón a su tiempo, y, como monumento de un alma incrédula, se alza una columna de sal.
8 For those who forsook Wisdom first were bereft of knowledge of the right, And then they left mankind a memorial of their folly-- so that they could not even be hidden in their fall.	8 Pues, por haberse apartado del camino de la Sabiduría, no sólo sufrieron la desgracia de no conocer el bien, sino que dejaron además a los vivientes un recuerdo de su insensatez, para que ni sus faltas pudieran quedar ocultas.
9 But Wisdom delivered from tribulations those who served her.	9 En cambio, a sus servidores la Sabiduría los libró de sus fatigas.
10 She, when the just man fled from his brother's anger, guided him in direct ways, Showed him the kingdom of God and gave him knowledge of holy things; She prospered him in his labors and made abundant the fruit of his works,	10 Ella al justo que huía de la cólera de su hermano le guió por caminos rectos; le mostró el reino de Dios y le dio el conocimiento de cosas santas; le dio éxito en sus duros trabajos y multiplicó el fruto de sus fatigas;
11 Stood by him against the greed of his defrauders, and enriched him;	11 le asistió contra la avaricia de sus opresores y le enriqueció;
12 She preserved him from foes, and secured him against ambush, And she gave him the prize for his stern struggle that he might know that devotion to God is mightier than all else.	12 le preservó de sus enemigos y le protegió de los que le tendían asechanzas; y le concedió la palma en un duro combate para enseñarle que la piedad contra todo prevalece.
13 She did not abandon the just man when he was sold, but delivered him from sin.	13 Ella no desamparó al justo vendido, sino que le libró del pecado;
14 She went down with him into the dungeon, and did not desert him in his bonds, Until she brought him the scepter of royalty and authority over his oppressors, Showed those who had defamed him false, and gave him eternal glory.	14 bajó con él a la cisterna y no le abandonó en las cadenas, hasta entregarle el cetro real y el poder sobre sus tiranos, hasta mostrar mentirosos a sus difamadores y concederle una gloria eterna.
15 The holy people and blameless race--it was she who delivered them from the nation that oppressed them.	15 Ella libró de una nación opresora a un pueblo santo y a una raza irreprochable.
16 She entered the soul of the LORD'S servant, and withstood fearsome kings with signs and portents;	16 Entró en el alma de un servidor del Señor e hizo frente a reyes temibles con prodigios y señales;
17 she gave the holy ones the recompense of their labors, Conducted them by a wondrous road, and became a shelter for them by day and a starry flame by night.	17 pagó a los santos el salario de sus trabajos; los guió por un camino maravilloso, fue para ellos cobertura durante el día y lumbre de estrellas durante la noche;
18 She took them across the Red Sea and brought them through the deep waters--	18 les abrió paso por el mar Rojo y los condujo a través de las inmensas aguas,
19 But their enemies she overwhelmed, and cast them up from the bottom of the depths.	19 mientras a sus enemigos los sumergió y luego los hizo saltar de las profundidades del abismo.
20 Therefore the just despoiled the wicked; and they sang, O LORD, your holy name	20 De este modo los justos despojaron a los impíos; entonaron cantos, Señor, a tu santo Nombre y unánimes celebraron tu mano protectora,
21 Because Wisdom opened the mouths of the dumb, and gave ready speech to infants.	21 porque la Sabiduría abrió la boca de los mudos e hizo claras las lenguas de los pequeñuelos.
