Proverbs 15

NEW AMERICAN BIBLEPattloch Bibel
A mild answer calms wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.1 Gelinde Antwort wendet ab den Zorn, verletzend Wort jedoch erregt den Grimm.
The tongue of the wise pours out knowledge, but the mouth of fools spurts forth folly.2 Des Weisen Zunge träufelt von Erkenntnis, der Mund des Toren aber sprudelt Narrheit aus.
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.3 An jedem Orte sind die Augen Gottes, auf Böse und auf Gute blicken sie.
A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse one crushes the spirit.4 Die sanfte Zunge ist ein Lebensbaum, die falsche ist Zusammenbruch des Geistes.
The fool spurns his father's admonition, but prudent is he who heeds reproof.5 Der Tor verschmäht die Mahnung seines Vaters, doch wer auf Rüge achtet, handelt klug.
In the house of the just there are ample resources, but the earnings of the wicked are in turmoil.6 Viel Reichtum ist im Hause des Gerechten, doch der Ertrag des Frevlers wird zerrüttet.
The lips of the wise disseminate knowledge, but the heart of fools is perverted.7 Der Weisen Lippen hüten die Erkenntnis, der Toren Herz ist nicht in Ordnung.
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.8 Der Frevler Opfer ist ein Greuel für den Herrn, doch das Gebet der Redlichen sein Wohlgefallen.
The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but he loves the man who pursues virtue.9 Ein Greuel ist dem Herrn der Weg des Frevlers, doch wer Gerechtigkeit erstrebt, den liebt er.
Severe punishment is in store for the man who goes astray; he who hates reproof will die.10 Streng wird gezüchtigt, wer den rechten Pfad verläßt; wer Rüge ablehnt, ist dem Tod verfallen.
The nether world and the abyss lie open before the LORD; how much more the hearts of men!11 Totenreich und Unterwelt liegen offen vor dem Herrn, um wieviel mehr das Herz der Menschenkinder!
The senseless man loves not to be reproved; to wise men he will not go.12 Der Prahlerische liebt es nicht, daß man ihn rügt, zu weisen Menschen mag er sich nicht hinbegeben.
A glad heart lights up the face, but by mental anguish the spirit is broken.13 Ein fröhlich Herz macht auch das Antlitz heiter, jedoch bei Herzeleid ist das Gemüt bedrückt.
The mind of the intelligent man seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on folly.14 Das Herz des Weisen sucht Erkenntnis, der Mund der Toren geht auf Narrheit aus.
Every day is miserable for the depressed, but a lighthearted man has a continual feast.15 Alle Tage des Bedürftigen sind schlecht, wer aber frohen Herzens ist, hat dauernd Festmahl.
Better a little with fear of the LORD than a great fortune with anxiety.16 Besser wenig, doch in Furcht des Herrn, als viel Besitz und deshalb keine Ruhe.
Better a dish of herbs where love is than a fatted ox and hatred with it.17 Besser ein Gericht Gemüse, doch mit Liebe, als ein fettes Rind und Haß dabei.
An ill-tempered man stirs up strife, but a patient man allays discord.18 Ein zornerhitzter Mann ruft Streit hervor, ein sanfter aber stillt den Zank.
The way of the sluggard is hemmed in as with thorns, but the path of the diligent is a highway.19 Der Dornenhecke gleicht der Weg des Faulen, der Pfad der Redlichen jedoch ist wohlgebahnt.
A wise son makes his father glad, but a fool of a man despises his mother.20 Ein weiser Sohn macht seinem Vater Freude, ein Tor verachtet seine Mutter.
Folly is joy to the senseless man, but the man of understanding goes the straight way.21 Torheit macht dem Unvernünftigen Vergnügen, jedoch geraden Weges geht der kluge Mann.
Plans fail when there is no counsel, but they succeed when counselors are many.22 Pläne scheitern, wo Beratung fehlt, wo aber viele raten, kommt Erfolg zustande.
There is joy for a man in his utterance; a word in season, how good it is!23 Jedermann ist froh, wenn Antwort weiß sein Mund; und ein Wort zur rechten Zeit, wie angenehm ist es!
The path of life leads the prudent man upward, that he may avoid the nether world below.24 Ein Lebenspfad zur Höhe wartet auf den Weisen, daß er der Unterwelt entkomme in der Tiefe.
The LORD overturns the house of the proud, but he preserves intact the widow's landmark.25 Das Haus des Stolzen reißt der Herr hinweg, jedoch der Witwe Grenze legt er fest.
The wicked man's schemes are an abomination to the LORD, but the pure speak what is pleasing to him.26 Des Bösen Pläne sind dem Herrn ein Greuel, rein aber sind ihm liebevolle Reden.
He who is greedy of gain brings ruin on his own house, but he who hates bribes will live.27 Sein Haus zerstört, wer unrecht Gut annimmt, doch wer Bestechung haßt, wird leben.
The just man weighs well his utterance, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil.28 Das Herz des Frommen überlegt sich seine Antwort, der Mund der Frevler aber sprudelt Bosheit aus.
The LORD is far from the wicked, but the prayer of the just he hears.29 Den Frevler hält der Herr sich fern, doch hört er das Gebet der Frommen.
A cheerful glance brings joy to the heart; good news invigorates the bones.30 Leuchtende Augen erfreuen das Herz, gute Kunde labt den Leib.
He who listens to salutary reproof will abide among the wise.31 Ein Ohr, das auf lebenerhaltende Rüge hört, wird weilen mitten unter Weisen.
He who rejects admonition despises his own soul, but he who heeds reproof gains understanding.32 Wer sich um Zucht nicht kümmert, achtet selbst sich nicht, doch wer auf Rüge hört, erwirbt Verstand.
The fear of the LORD is training for wisdom, and humility goes before honors.33 Die Furcht des Herrn ist weise Zucht, und Demut geht voraus der Ehre.
