1 They therefore sent messengers to him to sue for peace in these words:	1 Perciò gli inviarono messaggeri con proposte di pace:
2 "We, the servants of Nebuchadnezzar the great king, lie prostrate before you; do with us as you will.	2 "Ecco, ci mettiamo davanti a te noi, figli del gran re Nabucodònosor; fa' di noi quanto ti piacerà.
3 Our dwellings and all our wheat fields, our flocks and herds, and all our encampments are at your disposal; make use of them as you please.	3 Ecco le nostre case e tutto il nostro territorio e tutti i campi di grano, i greggi e gli armenti e tutto il bestiame dei nostri attendamenti sono a tua disposizione perché tu ne faccia quel che vuoi.
4 Our cities and their inhabitants are also at your service; come and deal with them as you see fit."	4 Anche le nostre città e quanti vi abitano, ecco sono tuoi servi, vieni e trattale come ti piacerà".
