1 Corinthians 15

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;	1 Je vous rappelle, frères, l'Evangile que je vous ai annoncé, que vous avez reçu et dans lequelvous demeurez fermes,
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.	2 par lequel aussi vous vous sauvez, si vous le gardez tel que je vous l'ai annoncé; sinon, vousauriez cru en vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;	3 Je vous ai donc transmis en premier lieu ce que j'avais moi-même reçu, à savoir que le Christest mort pour nos péchés selon les Ecritures,
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:	4 qu'il a été mis au tombeau, qu'il est ressuscité le troisième jour selon les Ecritures,
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:	5 qu'il est apparu à Céphas, puis aux Douze.
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.	6 Ensuite, il est apparu à plus de 500 frères à la fois - la plupart d'entre eux demeurent jusqu'àprésent et quelques-uns se sont endormis --
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.	7 ensuite il est apparu à Jacques, puis à tous les apôtres.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.	8 Et, en tout dernier lieu, il m'est apparu à moi aussi, comme à l'avorton.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.	9 Car je suis le moindre des apôtres; je ne mérite pas d'être appelé apôtre, parce que j'aipersécuté l'Eglise de Dieu.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.	10 C'est par la grâce de Dieu que je suis ce que je suis, et sa grâce à mon égard n'a pas étéstérile. Loin de là, j'ai travaillé plus qu'eux tous: oh! non pas moi, mais la grâce de Dieu qui est avec moi.
11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.	11 Bref, eux ou moi, voilà ce que nous prêchons. Et voilà ce que vous avez cru.
12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?	12 Or, si l'on prêche que le Christ est ressuscité des morts, comment certains parmi vouspeuvent-ils dire qu'il n'y a pas de résurrection des morts?
13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:	13 S'il n'y a pas de résurrection des morts, le Christ non plus n'est pas ressuscité.
14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.	14 Mais si le Christ n'est pas ressuscité, vide alors est notre message, vide aussi votre foi.
15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.	15 Il se trouve même que nous sommes des faux témoins de Dieu, puisque nous avons attestécontre Dieu qu'il a ressuscité le Christ, alors qu'il ne l'a pas ressuscité, s'il est vrai que les morts ne ressuscitentpas.
16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:	16 Car si les morts ne ressuscitent pas, le Christ non plus n'est pas ressuscité.
17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.	17 Et si le Christ n'est pas ressuscité, vaine est votre foi; vous êtes encore dans vos péchés.
18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.	18 Alors aussi ceux qui se sont endormis dans le Christ ont péri.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.	19 Si c'est pour cette vie seulement que nous avons mis notre espoir dans le Christ, noussommes les plus à plaindre de tous les hommes.
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.	20 Mais non; le Christ est ressuscité d'entre les morts, prémices de ceux qui se sont endormis.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.	21 Car, la mort étant venue par un homme, c'est par un homme aussi que vient la résurrectiondes morts.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.	22 De même en effet que tous meurent en Adam, ainsi tous revivront dans le Christ.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.	23 Mais chacun à son rang: comme prémices, le Christ, ensuite ceux qui seront au Christ, lorsde son Avènement.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.	24 Puis ce sera la fin, lorsqu'il remettra la royauté à Dieu le Père, après avoir détruit toutePrincipauté, Domination et Puissance.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.	25 Car il faut qu'il règne jusqu'à ce qu'il ait placé tous ses ennemis sous ses pieds.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.	26 Le dernier ennemi détruit, c'est la Mort;
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.	27 car il a tout mis sous ses pieds. Mais lorsqu'il dira: "Tous est soumis désormais", c'estévidemment à l'exclusion de Celui qui lui a soumis toutes choses.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.	28 Et lorsque toutes choses lui auront été soumises, alors le Fils lui-même se soumettra à Celuiqui lui a tout soumis, afin que Dieu soit tout en tous.
29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?	29 S'il en était autrement, que gagneraient ceux qui se font baptiser pour les morts? Si lesmorts ne ressuscitent absolument pas, pourquoi donc se fait-on baptiser pour eux?
30 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?	30 Et nous-mêmes, pourquoi à toute heure nous exposer au péril?
31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.	31 Chaque jour je suis à la mort, aussi vrai, frères, que vous êtes pour moi un titre de gloiredans le Christ Jésus, notre Seigneur.
32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.	32 Si c'est dans des vues humaines que j'ai livré combat contre les bêtes à Ephèse, que m'enrevient-il? Si les morts ne ressuscitent pas, mangeons et buvons, car demain nous mourrons.
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.	33 Ne vous y trompez pas: "Les mauvaises compagnies corrompent les bonnes moeurs."
34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.	34 Dégrisez-vous, comme il sied, et ne péchez pas; car il en est parmi vous qui ignorent tout deDieu. Je le dis à votre honte.
35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?	35 Mais, dira-t-on, comment les morts ressuscitent-ils? Avec quel corps reviennent-ils?
36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:	36 Insensé! Ce que tu sèmes, toi, ne reprend vie s'il ne meurt.
37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:	37 Et ce que tu sèmes, ce n'est pas le corps à venir, mais un simple grain, soit de blé, soit dequelque autre plante;
38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.	38 et Dieu lui donne un corps à son gré, à chaque semence un corps particulier.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.	39 Toutes les chairs ne sont pas les mêmes, mais autre est la chair des hommes, autre la chairdes bêtes, autre la chair des oiseaux, autre celle des poissons.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.	40 Il y a aussi des corps célestes et des corps terrestres, mais autre est l'éclat des célestes, autrecelui des terrestres.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.	41 Autre l'éclat du soleil, autre l'éclat de la lune, autre l'éclat des étoiles. Une étoile mêmediffère en éclat d'une étoile.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:	42 Ainsi en va-t-il de la résurrection des morts: on est semé dans la corruption, on ressuscitedans l'incorruptibilité;
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:	43 on est semé dans l'ignominie, on ressuscite dans la gloire; on est semé dans la faiblesse, onressuscite dans la force;
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.	44 on est semé corps psychique, on ressuscite corps spirituel. S'il y a un corps psychique, il y aaussi un corps spirituel.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.	45 C'est ainsi qu'il est écrit: Le premier homme, Adam, a été fait âme vivante; le dernierAdam, esprit vivifiant.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.	46 Mais ce n'est pas le spirituel qui paraît d'abord; c'est le psychique, puis le spirituel.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.	47 Le premier homme, issu du sol, est terrestre, le second, lui, vient du ciel.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.	48 Tel a été le terrestre, tels seront aussi les terrestres; tel le céleste, tels seront aussi lescélestes.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.	49 Et de même que nous avons porté l'image du terrestre, nous porterons aussi l'image ducéleste.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.	50 Je l'affirme, frères: la chair et le sang ne peuvent hériter du Royaume de Dieu, ni lacorruption hériter de l'incorruptibilité.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,	51 Oui, je vais vous dire un mystère: nous ne mourrons pas tous, mais tous nous seronstransformés.
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.	52 En un instant, en un clin d'oeil, au son de la trompette finale, car elle sonnera, la trompette,et les morts ressusciteront incorruptibles, et nous, nous serons transformés.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.	53 Il faut, en effet, que cet être corruptible revête l'incorruptibilité, que cet être mortel revêtel'immortalité.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.	54 Quand donc cet être corruptible aura revêtu l'incorruptibilité et que cet être mortel aurarevêtu l'immortalité, alors s'accomplira la parole qui est écrite: La mort a été engloutie dans la victoire.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?	55 Où est-elle, ô mort, ta victoire? Où est-il, ô mort, ton aiguillon?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.	56 L'aiguillon de la mort, c'est le péché, et la force du péché, c'est la Loi.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.	57 Mais grâces soient à Dieu, qui nous donne la victoire par notre Seigneur Jésus Christ!
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.	58 Ainsi donc, mes frères bien-aimés, montrez-vous fermes, inébranlables, toujours en progrèsdans l'oeuvre du Seigneur, sachant que votre labeur n'est pas vain dans le Seigneur.
