Deuteronomy 23

1 He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.	1 L'eunuco, a cui siano stati o contusi o tagliati o strappati i genitali, non entrerà nell'assemblea del Signore.
2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.	2 Il bastardo, cioè chi è nato da donna di mala vita, non entrerà nell'assemblea del Signore sino alla decima generazione.
3 An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:	3 Gli Ammoniti e i moabiti mai, nemmen dopo la decima generazione, entreranno nell'assemblea del Signore,
4 Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.	4 perchè non vollero venirvi incontro col pane e coll'acqua nel cammino quando usciste dall'Egitto, e perchè prezzolarono contro di te Balaam figlio di Beor, della Mesopotamia di Siria, affinchè ti maledisse.
5 Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.	5 Ma il Signore Dio tuo che ti amava, non volle ascoltar Balaam e rivolse la sua maledizione in benedizione.
6 Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.	6 Non farai mai pace con essi, nè cercherai loro del bene per tutto il tempo della tua vita.
7 Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.	7 Non aborrirai l'idumeo, perchè è tuo fratello; nè l'Egiziano, perchè tu fosti forestiero nella sua terra.
8 The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the LORD in their third generation.	8 I discendenti di questi alla terza generazione potranno entrare nell'assemblea del Signore.
9 When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every wicked thing.	9 Quando uscirai in guerra contro i tuoi nemici, guardati da ogni indecenza.
10 If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:	10 Se tra voi vi sarà qualcuno che sia immondo a causa d'un sogno notturno, uscirà fuori del campo,
11 But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.	11 nè ritornerà se non dopo essersi lavato nell'acqua verso sera: dopo il tramonto del sole rientrerà nel campo.
12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:	12 Avrai un luogo fuori dei campo ove andrai a fare i tuoi bisogni:
13 And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:	13 porterai alla cintola un piolo, e quando avrai fatto, scavando all'intorno, ricoprirai di terra gli escrementi,
14 For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.	14 e te ne andrai. Siccome il Signore Dio tuo cammina nel mezzo del campo per liberarti, e darti nelle mani i tuoi nemici, il tuo campo deve esser santo e nulla vi si deve vedere d'impuro, affinchè egli non t'abbandoni.
15 Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant which is escaped from his master unto thee:	15 Non consegnerai al padrone lo schiavo che si è rifugiato presso di te.
16 He shall dwell with thee, even among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him.	16 Egli abiterà con te nel luogo che gli parrà, starà tranquillo in una delle tue città: non lo contristare.
17 There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.	17 Non vi sarà donna di cattiva vita tra le figlie d'Israele, nè uomo fornicatore tra i figli d'Israele.
18 Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God.	18 Non offrirai nella casa del Signore Dio tuo il guadagno della prostituzione, nè il prezzo d'un cane, qualunque voto abbia da sciogliere, perchè sono ambedue cose abbominevoli davanti al Signore Dio tuo.
19 Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury:	19 Non presterai ad interesse al tuo fratello nè danaro, nè grano, nè qualsiasi altra cosa.
20 Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it.	20 Potrai prestare ad interesse allo straniero; al tuo fratello, invece, presterai senza interesse quello che gli bisogna, affinchè il Signore Dio tuo ti benedica in tutte le tue opere nella terra ove stai per entrare per prenderne il possesso.
21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.	21 Quando avrai fatto un voto al Signore Dio tuo, non tarderai ad adempirlo; perchè il Signore Dio tuo te ne dimanderà conto, e il ritardo ti sarà ascritto a peccato.
22 But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.	22 Se non vuoi promettere, non fai peccato; asma la parola uscita una volta dalle tue labbra la devi mantenere, facendo quanto hai promesso al Signore Dio tuo, quanto di tua volontà e di tua bocca ha detto.
23 That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.	23 Se entri nella vigna del tuo prossimo, mangia pure dell'uva quanto ti pare, ma senza portarne via;
24 When thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.	24 così entrando nel campo di grano del tuo amico, potrai cogliere le spighe e stritolarle colle mani, ma senza mietere colla falce.
25 When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour's standing corn.
