Deuteronomy 23

1 He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.	1 Ein Mann darf eine Frau seines Vaters nicht heiraten; denn er darf das Bett seines Vaters nicht aufdecken.
2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.	2 In die Versammlung des Herrn darf keiner aufgenommen werden, dessen Hoden zerquetscht sind oder dessen Glied verstümmelt ist.
3 An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:	3 In die Versammlung des Herrn darf kein Bastard aufgenommen werden; auch in der zehnten Generation dürfen seine Nachkommen nicht in die Versammlung des Herrn aufgenommen werden.
4 Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.	4 In die Versammlung des Herrn darf kein Ammoniter oder Moabiter aufgenommen werden, auch nicht in der zehnten Generation. Niemals dürfen ihre Nachkommen in die Versammlung des Herrn aufgenommen werden;
5 Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.	5 denn sie sind euch nicht mit Brot und Wasser auf dem Weg entgegengegangen, als ihr aus Ägypten zogt, und Moab hat Bileam, den Sohn Beors, aus Petor in Mesopotamien gedungen und gegen dich ausgesandt, damit er dich verfluchte -
6 Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.	6 doch der Herr, dein Gott, hat sich geweigert, Bileam zu erhören, und der Herr, dein Gott, hat für dich den Fluch in Segen verwandelt; denn der Herr, dein Gott, liebt dich.
7 Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.	7 Du sollst dich nie und nimmer um einen Friedens- und Freundschaftsvertrag mit ihnen bemühen.
8 The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the LORD in their third generation.	8 Der Edomiter dagegen soll dir kein Gräuel sein; denn er ist dein Bruder. Der Ägypter soll dir kein Gräuel sein; denn du hast als Fremder in seinem Land gewohnt.
9 When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every wicked thing.	9 In der dritten Generation dürfen ihre leiblichen Nachkommen in die Versammlung des Herrn aufgenommen werden.
10 If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:	10 Wenn du ins Feld ziehst und gegenüber deinen Feinden das Lager aufschlägst, sollst du dich vor jeder Unsauberkeit hüten.
11 But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.	11 Wenn jemand unter dir ist, der nicht mehr rein ist, weil nachts etwas geschah, soll er in das Vorgelände des Lagers gehen und das Lager nicht betreten.
12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:	12 Wenn der Abend kommt, soll er sich mit Wasser waschen, und wenn die Sonne untergeht, darf er in das Lager zurückkehren.
13 And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:	13 Du sollst im Vorgelände des Lagers eine Ecke haben, wo du austreten kannst.
14 For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.	14 In deinem Gepäck sollst du eine Schaufel haben, und wenn du dich draußen hinhocken willst, dann grab damit ein Loch und nachher deck deine Notdurft wieder zu!
15 Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant which is escaped from his master unto thee:	15 Denn der Herr, dein Gott, hält sich in der Mitte deines Lagers auf, um dich der Gefahr zu entreißen und dir deine Feinde auszuliefern. Dein Lager soll heilig sein, damit er bei dir nichts Anstößiges sieht und sich nicht von dir abwendet.
16 He shall dwell with thee, even among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him.	16 Du sollst einen fremden Untertan, der vor seinem Herrn bei dir Schutz sucht, seinem Herrn nicht ausliefern.
17 There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.	17 Bei dir soll er wohnen dürfen, in deiner Mitte, in einem Ort, den er sich in einem deiner Stadtbereiche auswählt, wo es ihm gefällt. Du sollst ihn nicht ausbeuten.
18 Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God.	18 Unter den Frauen Israels soll es keine sakrale Prostitution geben, und unter den Männern Israels soll es keine sakrale Prostitution geben.
19 Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury:	19 Du sollst weder Dirnenlohn noch Hundegeld in den Tempel des Herrn, deines Gottes, bringen. Kein Gelübde kann dazu verpflichten; denn auch diese beiden Dinge sind dem Herrn, deinem Gott, ein Gräuel.
20 Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it.	20 Du darfst von deinem Bruder keine Zinsen nehmen: weder Zinsen für Geld noch Zinsen für Getreide noch Zinsen für sonst etwas, wofür man Zinsen nimmt.
21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.	21 Von einem Ausländer darfst du Zinsen nehmen, von deinem Bruder darfst du keine Zinsen nehmen, damit der Herr, dein Gott, dich segnet in allem, was deine Hände schaffen, in dem Land, in das du hineinziehst, um es in Besitz zu nehmen.
22 But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.	22 Wenn du vor dem Herrn, deinem Gott, ein Gelübde machst, sollst du nicht zögern, es zu erfüllen; sonst wird es der Herr, dein Gott, von dir einfordern und die Strafe für diese Sünde wird über dich kommen.
23 That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.	23 Wenn du davon absiehst, Gelübde zu machen, wird auch die Strafe für diese Sünde nicht über dich kommen.
24 When thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.	24 Was deinem Mund entfahren ist, darauf sollst du auch achten und du sollst es halten, da du dem Herrn, deinem Gott, ja aus freien Stücken gelobt hast, was dein Mund genannt hat.
25 When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour's standing corn.	25 Wenn du in den Weinberg eines andern kommst, darfst du so viel Trauben essen, wie du magst, bis du satt bist, nur darfst du nichts in ein Gefäß tun.
	26 Wenn du durch das Kornfeld eines andern kommst, darfst du mit der Hand Ähren abreißen, aber die Sichel darfst du auf dem Kornfeld eines andern nicht schwingen.
