Deuteronomy 23

1 He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.	1 Ningún hombre tomará como esposa a una mujer de su padre, ni descubrirá el borde de la manta de su padre.
2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.	2 El que tenga los testículos mutilados o el pene cortado no será admitido en la asamblea del Señor.
3 An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:	3 El bastardo no será admitido no la asamblea del Señor, ni siquiera en la décima generación.
4 Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.	4 El amonita y el moabita no serán jamás admitidos en la asamblea del Señor, ni siquiera en la décima generación.
5 Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.	5 Porque ellos no se adelantaron para ofrecerles agua y alimento, cuando ustedes iban por el camino, a la salida de Egipto; y porque Moab contrató a Balaam, hijo de Beor, que era de Petor en Aram Naharaim, a fin de que te maldijera.
6 Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.	6 Pero el Señor, tu Dios, no quiso escuchar a Balaam, sino que cambió la maldición en bendición, sino que cambió la maldición en bendición, porque él te ama.
7 Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he is thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.	7 Por eso, mientras vivas, nunca busques su prosperidad y su bienestar.
8 The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the LORD in their third generation.	8 En cambio, no consideres abominable al edomita, porque es tu hermano, ni tampoco al egipcio, porque tú fuiste huésped en su país.
9 When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every wicked thing.	9 A partir de la tercera generación, sus descendientes podrán ser admitidos en la asamblea del Señor.
10 If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:	10 Cuando emprendas una campaña contra tus enemigos, evita cuidadosamente toda acción indecente.
11 But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash himself with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp again.	11 Si alguno de ustedes ha caído en estado de impureza a causa de una polución nocturna, saldrá fuera del campamento y no volverá a entrar en él.
12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:	12 Pero al llegar la tarde se levará, y al ponerse el sol entrará de nuevo en el campamento.
13 And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:	13 Tendrás, asimismo, un lugar fuera del campamento para hacer allí tus necesidades.
14 For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.	14 También llevarás una estaca en tu equipaje, y cuando salgas afuera para hacer tus necesidades, cavarás un hoyo con la estaca y luego lo volverás a tapar para cubrir tus excrementos.
15 Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant which is escaped from his master unto thee:	15 Porque el Señor, tu Dios, recorrerá el campamento para protegerte y para poner a tus enemigos en tus manos. Por eso tu campamento será un lugar santo, y el Señor no debe ver en él nada indecente. De lo contrario se aparta de ti.
16 He shall dwell with thee, even among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him.	16 No entregarás al esclavo que acuda a ti huyendo de su dueño.
17 There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.	17 Se quedará contigo, entre los tuyos, en el lugar que él elija, en la ciudad que más le agrade; y no lo molestarás.
18 Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God.	18 Ningún hombre o mujer israelita practicará la prostitución sagrada.
19 Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury:	19 No llevarás a la Casa del Señor, tu Dios, la paga de una prostituta ni el salario de un perro, cualquiera sea el voto que hayas hecho: porque ambos son una abominación para el Señor, tu Dios.
20 Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it.	20 No obligues a tu hermano a pagar interés, ya se trate de un préstamo de dinero, de víveres, o de cualquier otra cosa que pueda producir interés.
21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.	21 Podrás prestar a interés al extranjero, pero no a tu compatriota, para que el Señor, tu Dios, te bendiga en todas tus empresas, en la tierra de la que vas a tomar posesión.
22 But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.	22 Si hacer un voto al Señor, tu Dios, no tardes en cumplirlo, porque él no dejará de pedirte cuenta, y si no lo cumples, cometerás un pecado.
23 That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.	23 Si te abstienes de hacer votos, no cometes ningún pecado.
24 When thou comest into thy neighbour's vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.	24 Sé un hombre de palabra, y cumple el voto que hagas espontáneamente al Señor, tu Dios, expresándolo con tus propios labios.
25 When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour's standing corn.	25 Si entras en la viña de tu prójimo, podrás comer todas las uvas que quieras, hasta quedar saciado, pero no guardarás nada en tu bolsa.
	26 Si pasas por los sembrados maduros de tu prójimo, podrás arrancar espigas con la mano, pero no aplicarás la hoz.
