Deuteronomy 12

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 These are the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.	1 Et voici les lois et coutumes que vous garderez et pratiquerez, dans le pays que Yahvé leDieu de tes pères t'a donné pour domaine, tous les jours que vous vivrez sur ce sol.
2 Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:	2 Vous abolirez tous les lieux où les peuples que vous dépossédez auront servi leurs dieux, surles hautes montagnes, sur les collines, sous tout arbre verdoyant.
3 And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.	3 Vous démolirez leurs autels, briserez leurs stèles; leurs pieux sacrés, vous les brûlerez, lesimages sculptées de leurs dieux, vous les abattrez, et vous abolirez leur nom en ce lieu.
4 Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.	4 A l'égard de Yahvé votre Dieu vous agirez autrement.
5 But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:	5 C'est seulement au lieu choisi par Yahvé votre Dieu, entre toutes vos tribus, pour y placerson nom et l'y faire habiter, que vous viendrez pour le chercher
6 And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:	6 Vous apporterez là vos holocaustes et vos sacrifices, vos dîmes et les présents de vos mains,vos offrandes votives et vos offrandes volontaires, les premiers-nés de votre gros et de votre petit bétail,
7 And there ye shall eat before the LORD your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein the LORD thy God hath blessed thee.	7 vous y mangerez en présence de Yahvé votre Dieu et vous vous réjouirez de tous vostravaux, vous et vos maisons, parce que Yahvé ton Dieu t'a béni.
8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.	8 Vous n'agirez pas comme nous agissons ici aujourd'hui: chacun fait ce qui lui paraît bon,
9 For ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which the LORD your God giveth you.	9 puisque vous n'êtes pas encore entrés dans l'établissement et l'héritage que Yahvé ton Dieu tedonne.
10 But when ye go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which the LORD your God giveth you to inherit, and when he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety;	10 Vous allez passer le Jourdain et demeurer dans le pays que Yahvé votre Dieu vous donneen héritage; il vous établira à l'abri de tous vos ennemis alentour, et vous aurez une sûre demeure.
11 Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:	11 C'est au lieu choisi par Yahvé votre Dieu pour y faire habiter son nom que vous apportereztout ce que je vous prescris, vos holocaustes et vos sacrifices, vos dîmes, les présents de vos mains et toutes leschoses excellentes que vous aurez promises par voeu à Yahvé;
12 And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.	12 vous vous réjouirez alors en présence de Yahvé votre Dieu, vous, vos fils et vos filles, vosserviteurs et vos servantes, et le lévite qui demeure chez vous, puisqu'il n'a ni part ni héritage avec vous.
13 Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest:	13 Garde-toi d'offrir tes holocaustes en tous les lieux sacrés que tu verras,
14 But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.	14 c'est seulement au lieu choisi par Yahvé dans l'une de tes tribus que tu pourras offrir tesholocaustes et mettre en pratique tout ce que je t'ai ordonné.
15 Notwithstanding thou mayest kill and eat flesh in all thy gates, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the roebuck, and as of the hart.	15 Tu pourras pourtant, chaque fois que tu le désireras, immoler et manger, en chacune de tesvilles, de la chair pour autant que t'en aura donné la bénédiction de Yahvé ton Dieu. Que l'on soit pur ou impur,on en pourra manger, tout comme si c'était de la gazelle ou du cerf.
16 Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.	16 Cependant vous ne mangerez pas le sang, mais tu le répandras à terre comme de l'eau.
17 Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy corn, or of thy wine, or of thy oil, or the firstlings of thy herds or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill offerings, or heave offering of thine hand:	17 Tu ne pourras pas manger dans tes villes la dîme de ton froment, de ton vin nouveau ou deton huile, ni les premiers-nés de ton gros ou de ton petit bétail, ni aucune de tes offrandes votives ou de tesoffrandes volontaires, ni ce que tu auras présenté de tes mains à Yahvé.
18 But thou must eat them before the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God in all that thou puttest thine hands unto.	18 Mais tu les mangeras en présence de Yahvé ton Dieu, au lieu choisi par Yahvé ton Dieu etlà seulement, toi, ton fils et ta fille, ton serviteur et ta servante, et le lévite qui est chez toi. Tu te réjouiras enprésence de Yahvé ton Dieu de tous tes travaux.
19 Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest upon the earth.	19 Sur ton sol, garde-toi de négliger le lévite au long de tes jours.
20 When the LORD thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul longeth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.	20 Lorsque Yahvé ton Dieu aura agrandi ton territoire, comme il te l'a dit, et que tu t'écrieras:"Je voudrais manger de la viande", si tu désires manger de la viande, tu pourras le faire autant que tu voudras.
21 If the place which the LORD thy God hath chosen to put his name there be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which the LORD hath given thee, as I have commanded thee, and thou shalt eat in thy gates whatsoever thy soul lusteth after.	21 Si le lieu choisi par Yahvé ton Dieu pour y placer son nom est trop loin de toi, tu pourrasimmoler du gros et du petit bétail que t'aura donné Yahvé, comme je te l'ai ordonné; tu en mangeras dans tesvilles autant que tu le désireras,
22 Even as the roebuck and the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat them: the unclean and the clean shall eat of them alike.	22 mais tu en mangeras comme on mange de la gazelle ou du cerf: le pur et l'impur enmangeront ensemble.
23 Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh.	23 Garde-toi seulement de manger le sang, car le sang, c'est l'âme, et tu ne dois pas mangerl'âme avec la chair.
24 Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water.	24 Tu ne le mangeras pas, tu le répandras à terre comme de l'eau.
25 Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.	25 Tu ne le mangeras pas, afin d'être heureux, toi et ton fils après toi, en pratiquant ce qui estjuste aux yeux de Yahvé.
26 Only thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou shalt take, and go unto the place which the LORD shall choose:	26 Mais les choses saintes qui seraient à toi, et celles que tu aurais vouées, tu iras les porter àce lieu choisi par Yahvé.
27 And thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of the LORD thy God: and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of the LORD thy God, and thou shalt eat the flesh.	27 Tu feras l'holocauste de la chair et du sang sur l'autel de Yahvé ton Dieu; quant à tessacrifices, le sang en sera répandu sur l'autel de Yahvé ton Dieu, et tu mangeras la chair.
28 Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God.	28 Garde docilement et mets en pratique tous ces ordres que je te donne, en sorte d'êtreheureux pour toujours, toi et ton fils après toi, en accomplissant ce qui est bon et juste aux yeux de Yahvé tonDieu.
29 When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land;	29 Lorsque Yahvé ton Dieu aura fait table rase des nations chez qui tu te rends pour lesdéposséder devant toi, lorsque tu les auras dépossédées et que tu habiteras dans leur pays,
30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.	30 garde-toi de te laisser prendre au piège à leur suite, après qu'elles auront été anéantiesdevant toi, et ne recherche pas leurs dieux en disant: "Comment ces nations servaient-elles leurs dieux? Ainsiferai-je, moi aussi."
31 Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.	31 Tu ne feras pas ainsi envers Yahvé ton Dieu. Car Yahvé a tout cela en abomination, et ildéteste ce qu'elles ont fait pour leurs dieux: elles vont même jusqu'à brûler au feu leurs fils et leurs filles pourleurs dieux!
32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
