Amos 3

KING JAMES BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,	1 Escuchen esta palabra que el Señor pronuncia contra ustedes, israelitas, contra toda la familia que yo hice subir del país de Egipto:
2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.	2 Sólo a ustedes los elegí entre todas las familias de la tierra; por eso les haré rendir cuenta de todas sus iniquidades.
3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?	3 ¿Van juntos dos hombres sin haberse puesto de acuerdo?
4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?	4 ¿Ruge el león en la selva sin tener una presa? ¿Alza la voz el cachorro desde su guarida sin haber cazado nada?
5 Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?	5 ¿Cae el pájaro a tierra sobre una trampa si no hay un cebo? ¿Salta la trampa del suelo sin haber atrapado nada?
6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?	6 ¿Suena la trompeta en una ciudad sin que el pueblo se alarme? ¿Sucede una desgracia en la ciudad sin que el Señor la provoque?
7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.	7 Porque el Señor no hace nada sin revelar su secreto a sus servidores los profetas.
8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?	8 El león ha rugido: ¿quién no temerá? El Señor ha hablado: ¿quién no profetizará?
9 Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.	9 Hagan oír su voz en los palacios de Asiria y en los palacios de Egipto, y digan: Reúnanse en las montañas de Samaría, y vean cuántos desórdenes hay en medio de ella, cuántas opresiones en su interior.
10 For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.	10 No saben obrar con rectitud –oráculo del Señor– esos que amontonan violencia y devastación en sus palacios.
11 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; An adversary there shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled.	11 Por eso, así habla el Señor: El enemigo cercará el país, te despojará de tu poderío y tus palacios serán saqueados.
12 Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.	12 Así habla el Señor: Como el pastor arranca de las fauces del león dos patas o la punta de una oreja, así serán sentados en Samaría, en un rincón del diván, sobre un lecho confortable.
13 Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD, the God of hosts,	13 Escuchen y atestigüen contra la casa de Jacob –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos–:
14 That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.	14 El día en que yo castigue a Israel por sus crímenes, castigaré los altares de Betel; los ángulos del altar serán demolidos y caerán por tierra.
15 And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD.	15 Derribaré la casa de invierno junto con la casa de verano; desaparecerán las casas de marfil y las mansiones se derrumbarán –oráculo del Señor–.
