Hosea 13

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.	1 Quand Ephraïm parlait, c'était la terreur, il était grand en Israël, mais il se rendit coupable avec Baalet mourut.
2 And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.	2 Et maintenant ils continuent à pécher, ils se font des images de métal fondu, avec leur argent, desidoles de leur invention; oeuvre d'artisan que tout cela! Ils disent: "Offrez-leur des sacrifices." A des veaux deshommes donnent des baisers!
3 Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.	3 C'est pourquoi ils seront comme la nuée du matin, comme la rosée qui tôt se dissipe, comme la baleemportée loin de l'aire, comme la fumée qui s'échappe de la fenêtre.
4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.	4 Pourtant moi je suis Yahvé, ton Dieu, depuis le pays d'Egypte, de Dieu, excepté moi, tu n'en connaispas, et de sauveur, il n'en est pas en dehors de moi.
5 I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.	5 Moi, je t'ai connu au désert, au pays de l'aridité.
6 According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.	6 Je les ai fait paître, ils se sont rassasiés; rassasiés, leur coeur s'est élevé; voilà pourquoi ils m'ontoublié.
7 Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:	7 J'ai donc été pour eux comme un lion, comme un léopard, près du chemin, je me tenais aux aguets;
8 I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.	8 j'ai fondu sur eux comme une ourse privée de ses petits, j'ai déchiré l'enveloppe de leur coeur; là, jeles ai dévorés comme une lionne, la bête sauvage les a déchirés.
9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.	9 Te voilà détruit, Israël, c'est en moi qu'est ton secours.
10 I will be thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?	10 Où donc est-il ton roi, pour qu'il te sauvé? Et dans toutes tes villes, tes juges? Ceux-là dont tu disais:"Donne-moi un roi et des chefs."
11 I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.	11 Un roi, je te le donne dans ma colère, et je le reprends dans ma fureur.
12 The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid.	12 La faute d'Ephraïm est mise en réserve, son péché tenu en lieu sûr.
13 The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.	13 Les douleurs de l'enfantement surviennent pour lui, mais c'est un enfant stupide; il est à terme et nequitte pas le sein maternel!
14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.	14 Et je les libérerais du pouvoir du Shéol? De la mort je les rachèterais? Où est ta peste, ô Mort? Oùest ta contagion, ô Shéol? La compassion se dérobe à mes yeux.
15 Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.	15 Ephraïm a beau fructifier parmi ses frères, le vent d'est viendra, le souffle de Yahvé montera dudésert, et sa source sera tarie, sa fontaine desséchée. C'est lui qui pillera le trésor de tous les objets précieux.
16 Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
