1 Put off, O Jerusalem, the garment of mourning and affliction, and put on the comeliness of the glory that cometh from God for ever.	1 Metti da parte, o Gerusalemme, le vesti del lutto e della tua afflizione, e rivestiti dello splendore e della maestà dell'eterna gloria che ti viene da Dio.
2 Cast about thee a double garment of the righteousness which cometh from God; and set a diadem on thine head of the glory of the Everlasting.	2 Il Signore ti coprirà col manto della giustizia, e ti porrà sul capo la mitra dell'onore eterno;
3 For God will shew thy brightness unto every country under heaven.	3 Dio mostrerà il tuo splendore a tutto ciò che è sotto il cielo.
4 For thy name shall be called of God for ever The peace of righteousness, and The glory of God's worship.	4 Il tuo nome ti sarà dato da Dio in eterno: « Pace della giustizia », « Onore della pietà ».
5 Arise, O Jerusalem, and stand on high, and look about toward the east, and behold thy children gathered from the west unto the east by the word of the Holy One, rejoicing in the remembrance of God.	5 Alzati, o Gerusalemme, sta in alto e volgi lo sguardo verso l'oriente, e mira i tuoi figli radunati dal sol levante all'occidente alla parola del Santo, lieti del ricordo del loro Dio.
6 For they departed from thee on foot, and were led away of their enemies: but God bringeth them unto thee exalted with glory, as children of the kingdom.	6 Partiron da te a piedi, trascinati dai nemici, ma il Signore te li ricondurrà portati con onore, come figli del regno.
7 For God hath appointed that every high hill, and banks of long continuance, should be cast down, and valleys filled up, to make even the ground, that Israel may go safely in the glory of God,	7 Infatti il Signore ha ordinato d'abbassare tutte le montagne elevate e le rupi eterne, e di colmare le valli per appianare la terra, affinchè Israele cammini rapidamente per la gloria di Dio;
8 Moreover even the woods and every sweetsmelling tree shall overshadow Israel by the commandment of God.	8 e le foreste e tutte le piante di grato odore per ordine di Dio faranno ombra a Israele.
9 For God shall lead Israel with joy in the light of his glory with the mercy and righteousness that cometh from him.	9 Così Dio condurrà Israele con gioia alla luce della sua maestà; colla misericordia e colla giustizia che vien da lui stesso.
