1 Then the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him king in his father's stead in Jerusalem.	1 Allora il popolo prese Joachaz figliuolo di Josia, e lo dichiarò successore del padre suo nel regno in Gerusalemme.
2 Jehoahaz was twenty and three years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months in Jerusalem.	2 Ventitre anni avea Joachaz quando principiò a regnare, e regnò tre mesi in Gerusalemme.
3 And the king of Egypt put him down at Jerusalem, and condemned the land in an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.	3 Perocché il re d'Egitto venuto a Gerusalemme lo depose, e condanno il paese a cento talenti d'argento, e uno d'oro.
4 And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.	4 E fece in luogo di lui Eliakim suo fratello re di Gerusalemme, e di Giuda; e gli cambiò il nome in quel di Joakiin: e prese seco Joachaz, e lo condusse in Egitto.
5 Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God.	5 Venticinque anni avea Joakim quando principiò a regnare, e undici anni regnò in Gerusalemme: e fece il male nel cospetto del Signore Dio suo.
6 Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.	6 Contro di lui si mosse Nabucodònosor re de' Caldei, e lo condusse incatenato a Babilonia,
7 Nebuchadnezzar also carried of the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon, and put them in his temple at Babylon.	7 Dove trasportò anche i vasi del Signore, e li collocò nel suo tempio.
8 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.	8 Il rimanente poi delle azioni di Joakim, e le abominazioni, che ei commise, e che furono in lui, sono descritte nel libro dei re di Giuda, e d'Israele. E gli succedette nel regno Joachin suo figliuolo.
9 Jehoiachin was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned three months and ten days in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.	9 Otto anni avea Joachin quando cominciò a regnare, e regnò tre mesi, e dieci giorni in Gerusalemme: e fece il male nel cospetto del Signore.
10 And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.	10 E alla fine dell'anno il re Nabucodònosor mandò gente a prenderlo, e condurlo a Babilonia, trasportando anche i vasi più preziosi della casa del Signore. E fece re di Giuda, e di Gerusalemme Sedecia suo zio da canto di padre.
11 Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned eleven years in Jerusalem.	11 Ventun anno avea Sedecia quando cominciò a regnare, e undici anni regnò in Gerusalemme.
12 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet speaking from the mouth of the LORD.	12 E fece il male nel cospetto del Signore Dio suo, e non ebbe rispetto per Geremia Profeta, il quale gli parlava da parte del Signore.
13 And he also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.	13 E si ribellò eziandio dal re Nabucodònosor, il quale gli avea fatto prestar giuramento nel nome di Dio: e indurò la sua cervice, e il suo cuore a segno di non tornare mai più al Signore Dio d'Israele.
14 Moreover all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.	14 Oltre a ciò tutti quanti i principi de' sacerdoti, e il popolo prevaricarono iniquamente, imitando tutte le abominazioni delle genti, e contaminarono la casa del Signore, la quale egli avea santificata per se in Gerusalemme.
15 And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:	15 E il Signore Dio de' padri loro faceva parlare ad essi per mezzo de'suoi ambasciadori, per tempo ammonendogli ogni giorno: perchè ei volea perdonare al suo popolo, e alla sua magione.
16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.	16 Ma quelli si facevan beffe degli ambasciadori di Dio, e mettevano in non cale le sue parole, e straziavano i profeti, sino a tanto che il furor del Signore piombò sopra il suo popolo, e non fu più luogo a medicina.
17 Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave them all into his hand.	17 Perocché egli fece venir sopra di loro il re de' Caldei, il quale fece morir di spada la loro gioventù nella casa del suo Santuario: ei non ebbe pietà del giovinetto, né della vergine, né del vecchio, né dell'uom decrepito, ma tutti li diede in potere di lui.
18 And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes; all these he brought to Babylon.	18 Ed egli trasportò a Babilonia tutti i vasi della magion del Signore tanto i grandi, come i piccoli, e tutti i tesori del tempio, e del re, e dei grandi.
19 And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof.	19 I nemici incendiarono la casa di Dio, e atterraron le mura di Gerusalemme, e abbruciaron tutte le torri, e distrussero tutto quel, che vi era di
20 And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon; where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:	20 Chi potè scampare dalla spada, era condotto a Babilonia per servire ai re, e a' suoi figliuoli, sino al tempo, in cui ebbe l'impero il re di Persia,
21 To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.	21 E sino a tanto che non ebbe compimento la parola di Dio pronunziata da Geremia, e non ebbe la terra celebrati i suoi sabati: imperocché per tutto il tempo di sua desolazione ella fece il sabato, finché non furon compiti i settanta anni.
22 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,	22 Ma l'anno primo di Ciro re di Persia, affinchè si adempisse la parola del Signore pronunziata per bocca di Geremia, il Signore mosse l'animo di Ciro re di Persia, il quale ordinò che si pubblicasse per tutto il suo regno anche per iscritto, questo decreto:
23 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The LORD his God be with him, and let him go up.	23 Ciro re di Persia dice così: Il Signore Dio del cielo ha dato a me tutti i regni della terra, ed egli mi ha comandato di edificare a lui una casa in Gerusalemme, che è nella Giudea: chi tra voi appartiene al suo popolo? Il Signore Dio suo sia con lui, ed ei si metta in viaggio
