1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,	1 Quando gli uomini cominciarono a moltiplicarsi sopra la faccia della terra e nacquero loro delle figliole,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.	2 avvenne che i figli di Dio videro che le figliole degli uomini erano piacevoli e se ne presero per mogli tra tutte quelle che più loro piacquero.
3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.	3 Allora il Signore disse: "Il mio spirito non durerà per sempre nell'uomo, perché egli non è che carne, e i suoi giorni saranno di centovent'anni".
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.	4 C'erano i giganti sulla terra a quei tempi, e anche dopo, quando i figli di Dio s'accostarono alle figliole dell'uomo e queste partorirono loro dei figli. Sono questi i famosi eroi dell'antichità.
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.	5 Allora il Signore vide che la malvagità dell'uomo era grande sulla terra e che ogni progetto concepito dal suo cuore non era rivolto ad altro che al male tutto il giorno:
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.	6 di conseguenza il Signore fu dispiaciuto di aver fatto l'uomo sulla terra e se ne addolorò in cuor suo.
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.	7 Sicché il Signore disse: "Io voglio cancellare dalla faccia della terra l'uomo che ho creato: uomo e bestiame e rettili e uccelli del cielo, poiché mi dispiace d'averli fatti".
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.	8 Tuttavia Noè trovò grazia agli occhi del Signore.
9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.	9 Questa è la storia di Noè. Noè era un uomo giusto, integro tra i suoi contemporanei, e camminava con Dio!
10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.	10 Noè generò tre figli: Sem, Cam e Iafet.
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.	11 Or la terra era corrotta al cospetto di Dio e piena di violenza.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.	12 Dio mirò la terra ed ecco: era corrotta; poiché ogni uomo aveva corrotto la propria condotta sopra la terra.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.	13 Allora Dio disse a Noè: "Mi son deciso: la fine di tutti gli uomini è arrivata, poiché la terra, per causa loro, è piena di violenza; ecco, io li distruggerò insieme con la terra.
14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.	14 Fatti un'arca di legno resinoso. Farai tale arca a celle e la spalmerai di bitume dentro e fuori.
15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.	15 Ed ecco come la farai: l'arca avrà trecento cubiti di lunghezza, cinquanta di larghezza e trenta di altezza.
16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.	16 Farai all'arca un tetto e un cubito più su la terminerai; di fianco le metterai la porta. La farai a ripiani: inferiore, medio e superiore.
17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.	17 Ed ecco io manderò il diluvio delle acque sulla terra, per distruggere ogni carne in cui è alito di vita sotto il cielo; tutto quanto è sulla terra dovrà perire.
18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.	18 Con te però stabilirò la mia alleanza: entrerai nell'arca tu e i tuoi figli, tua moglie e le mogli dei figli tuoi con te.
19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.	19 E di tutto ciò che vive, di ogni carne, fanne entrare nell'arca due di ogni specie per farli sopravvivere con te; siano un maschio e una femmina:
20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.	20 dei volatili, secondo la loro specie, del bestiame, secondo la loro specie, e di tutti i rettili della terra, secondo la loro specie; due tra tutti verranno con te per sopravvivere.
21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.	21 Tu poi prenditi ogni sorta di cibo da mangiare, e radunalo presso di te, e sarà nutrimento per te e per loro".
22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.	22 E Noè fece tutto come Dio gli aveva comandato.
