Genesis 6

KING JAMES BIBLE	JERUSALEM
1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,	1 Lorsque les hommes commencèrent d'être nombreux sur la face de la terre et que des filles leurfurent nées,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.	3 Yahvé dit: "Que mon esprit ne soit pas indéfiniment responsable de l'homme, puisqu'il est chair; savie ne sera que de 120 ans."
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.	5 Yahvé vit que la méchanceté de l'homme était grande sur la terre et que son cœur ne formait que demauvais desseins à longueur de journée.
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.	6 Yahvé se repentit d'avoir fait l'homme sur la terre et il s'affligea dans son cœur.
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.	7 Et Yahvé dit: "Je vais effacer de la surface du sol les hommes que j'ai créés -- et avec les hommes,les bestiaux, les bestioles et les oiseaux du ciel --, car je me repens de les avoir faits."
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.	8 Mais Noé avait trouvé grâce aux yeux de Yahvé.
9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.	9 Voici l'histoire de Noé: Noé était un homme juste, intègre parmi ses contemporains, et il marchaitavec Dieu.
10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.	10 Noé engendra trois fils, Sem, Cham et Japhet.
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.	11 La terre se pervertit au regard de Dieu et elle se remplit de violence.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.	12 Dieu vit la terre: elle était pervertie, car toute chair avait une conduite perverse sur la terre.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.	13 Dieu dit à Noé: "La fin de toute chair est arrivée, je l'ai décidé, car la terre est pleine de violence àcause des hommes et je vais les faire disparaître de la terre.
14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.	14 Fais-toi une arche en bois résineux, tu la feras en roseaux et tu l'enduiras de bitume en dedans et endehors.
15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.	15 Voici comment tu la feras: 300 coudées pour la longueur de l'arche, 50 coudées pour sa largeur, 30coudées pour sa hauteur.
16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.	16 Tu feras à l'arche un toit et tu l'achèveras une coudée plus haut, tu placeras l'entrée de l'arche sur lecôté et tu feras un premier, un second et un troisième étages.
17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.	17 "Pour moi, je vais amener le déluge, les eaux, sur la terre, pour exterminer de dessous le ciel toutechair ayant souffle de vie: tout ce qui est sur la terre doit périr.
18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.	18 Mais j'établirai mon alliance avec toi et tu entreras dans l'arche, toi et tes fils, ta femme et lesfemmes de tes fils avec toi.
19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.	19 De tout ce qui vit, de tout ce qui est chair, tu feras entrer dans l'arche deux de chaque espèce pourles garder en vie avec toi; qu'il y ait un mâle et une femelle.
20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.	20 De chaque espèce d'oiseaux, de chaque espèce de bestiaux, de chaque espèce de toutes les bestiolesdu sol, un couple viendra avec toi pour que tu les gardes en vie.
21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.	21 De ton côté, procure-toi de tout ce qui se mange et fais-en provision: cela servira de nourriture pourtoi et pour eux."
22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.	22 Noé agit ainsi; tout ce que Dieu lui avait commandé, il le fit.
