1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,	1 - Ora, avendo gli uomini cominciato a moltiplicarsi sopra la terra, ed avendo procreato delle figliuole,
2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.	2 i figli di Dio, che videro esser belle le figlie degli uomini, si presero in mogli, fra tutte, quelle che loro piacquero.
3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.	3 Disse Iddio: «Lo spirito mio non abiterà nell'uomo per sempre, perchè egli è carne; ed i suoi giorni saranno centovent'anni».
4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.	4 Or v'erano dei giganti sulla terra in quel tempo. Perchè, dopo che i figli di Dio si congiunsero alle figlie degli uomini, ed esse generarono, [ne vennero] questi uomini forti e robusti, famosi nei secoli.
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.	5 Vedendo pertanto Iddio che grande era la malizia degli uomini sulla terra, e che ogni pensiero del loro cuore era rivolto in ogni tempo al male,
6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.	6 si pentì d'aver fatto l'uomo sulla terra. E, tocco da intimo dolore del cuore, disse:
7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.	7 «Sterminerò di su la faccia della terra gli esseri da me creati, dall'uomo insino alle bestie, dai rettili sino agli uccelli dell'aria, perchè mi pento d'averli fatti».
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.	8 Ma Noè trovò grazia innanzi al Signore.
9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.	9 Questa è la discendenza di Noè. Noè fu uomo giusto e perfetto tra quelli del suo tempo, e camminò con Dio.
10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.	10 E generò tre figli: Sem, Cam e Iafet.
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.	11 Ora, la terra era corrotta agli occhi di Dio, e piena d'iniquità.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.	12 Avendo Dio veduto che tutta la terra era corrotta, ogni uomo infatti aveva macchiato le sue vie sulla terra,
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.	13 disse a Noè: «La fine di tutti i viventi è stata da me decretata; la terra è piena d'iniquità per la loro presenza, ed io li disperderò insieme alla terra.
14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.	14 Fatti un'arca con dei legni lavorati; fa' in essa delle celle, e spalmala di bitume dentro e fuori.
15 And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.	15 La farai così: di trecento cubiti sarà la lunghezza dell'arca, di cinquanta cubiti la larghezza, e di trenta l'altezza.
16 A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.	16 Farai nell'arca un'apertura, e un cubito più alto di questa, il tetto. Porrai da un lato la sua porta. Vi farai un piano di fondo, un secondo piano, ed un terzo.
17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.	17 Ecco, io farò venire sulla terra un diluvio d'acque, per distruggere ogni essere che ha alito di vita sotto il cielo; tutto quanto è sulla terra perirà.
18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.	18 Ma farò un patto con te. Entrerai nell'arca tu ed i tuoi figli, la moglie tua e le mogli dei tuoi figliuoli con te.
19 And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.	19 E di tutti gli animali d'ogni specie, ne introdurrai nell'arca una coppia, un maschio e una femmina, acciò si salvino con te.
20 Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.	20 Degli uccelli secondo la loro specie, e delle bestie secondo la loro specie, e d'ogni rettile della terra secondo la sua specie, tutti entreranno teco a coppie, acciò possano conservarsi.
21 And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.	21 Prenderai dunque teco di tutte quelle cose che si possono mangiare, e le raccoglierai presso di te, acciò siano d'alimento a te come ad essi».
22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.	22 E Noè fece tutto quel che gli aveva ordinato Iddio.
