23 Lévi fiai közül a családfők fel vannak jegyezve a Krónikás könyvben, és pedig Eljasib fiának, Jonatánnak napjaiig.	23 The sons of Levi, heads of the families were written in the book of Chronicles, even unto the days of Jonathan the son of Eliasib.
24 A leviták főemberei pedig a következők voltak: Hásebja, Serebja, Józsue, Binnuj és Kedmiel és testvéreik, akiknek az volt a tisztük, hogy Dávidnak, az Isten emberének parancsa értelmében dicsérő és dicsőítő énekeket zengjenek, beosztásuk szerint.	24 Now the chief of the Levites were Hasebia, Serebia, and Josue the son of Cedmihel: and their brethren by their courses, to praise and to give thanks according to the commandment of David the man of God, and to wait equally in order.
25 Matanja, Bekbekja, Obedja, Mesullám, Telmon, Akkub a kapuknál és a bejáratoknál levő kamrák őrzői voltak.	25 Mathania, and Becbecia, Obedia, and Mosollam, Telmon, Accub, were keepers of the gates and of the entrances before the gates.

27 Jeruzsálem falainak megszentelése alkalmával összes helyükről egybegyűjtötték a levitákat, hogy Jeruzsálembe vigyék őket és hálaadás meg dicsőítés közepette trombitával, hárfa és lant mellett vígan üljék meg a szentelési ünnepet.	27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, and to keep the dedication, and to rejoice with thanksgiving, and with singing, and with cymbals, and psalteries and harps.
28 Az énekesek fiai egybegyűltek a Jeruzsálem körüli településekről és a netufaiak falvaiból,	28 And the sons of the singing men were gathered together out of the plain country about Jerusalem, and out of the villages of Nethuphati,
29 Bétgilgálból, Geba és Azmávet vidékéről, az énekesek ugyanis Jeruzsálem környékén településeket építettek maguknak.	29 And from the house of Galgal, and from the countries of Geba and Azmaveth: for the singing men had built themselves villages round about Jerusalem.
30 Majd megtisztultak a papok meg a leviták és tisztulásnak vetették alá a népet, a kapukat és a falat is.	30 And the priests and the Levites purified, and they purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.
31 Meghagytam Júda fejedelmeinek, hogy sorakozzanak fel a fal mentén, majd két nagy dicsőítő kart állítottam fel. 38 Közben a másik dicsőítő kar ellenkező irányban haladt, mögötte én meg a nép fele a fal és Kemencetorony felett a Széles-fal felé.	38 And above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish gate and the tower of Hananeel, and the tower of Emath, and even to the flock gate: and they stood still in the watch gate.
39 Az Efraim-kapu, az Öreg-kapu, a Hal-kapu, Hananeél tornya és Emát tornya felett eljutottak egészen a Nyáj-kapuig, és megállapodtak a Börtön-kapunál.	39 And the two choirs of them that gave praise stood still at the house of God, and I and the half of the magistrates with me.

43 Bemutattak azon a napon nagy áldozatokat is és örültek, Isten ugyanis nagy örömmel örvendeztette meg őket. Feleségeik meg gyermekeik is örültek, és Jeruzsálem vigassága messze elhallatszott.	43 They appointed also in that day men over the storehouses of the treasure, for the libations, and for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, that the rulers of the city might bring them in by them in honour of thanksgiving, for the priests and Levites: for Juda was joyful in the priests and Levites that assisted.
44 Még azon a napon férfiakat, papokat és levitákat állítottak a kincstár kamrái élére, hogy oda gyűjtsék össze a falvak földjéről a papok és a leviták részét, amely a törvény szerint megillette őket, mert Júda örömét találta a papokban és a levitákban, akik a szolgálatot végzik.	44 And they kept the watch of their God, and the observance of expiation, and the singing men, and the porters, according to the commandment of David, and of Solomon his son.
45 Ők ugyanis pontosan teljesítették Istenük szolgálatát és az engesztelés szolgálatát. Az énekesek meg a kapuőrök pedig Dávidnak és fiának, Salamonnak rendelkezése értelmében végezték tisztüket.	45 For in the days of David and Asaph from the beginning there were chief singers appointed, to praise with canticles, and give thanks to God.
46 Dávid és Ászáf napjaiban ugyanis először állítottak vezetőket az énekesek fölé, akár dicsőítő, akár hálaadó éneket énekeltek Istennek.	46 And all Israel, in the days of Zorobabel, and in the days of Nehemias gave portions to the singing men, and to the porters, day by day, and they sanctified the Levites, and the Levites sanctified the sons of Aaron.
47 Zerubbábel korában és Nehemiás idejében egész Izrael napról napra részt juttatott az énekeseknek meg a kapuőröknek, és megadta a szent járandóságot a levitáknak. A leviták pedig Áron fiainak adtak a szent járandóságból.
