1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
2 "Ordonne ceci aux Israélites, tu leur diras: Quand vous entrerez dans le pays (de Canaan), voici lepays qui deviendra votre héritage. C'est le pays de Canaan selon ses frontières.	2 Command the children of Israel, and then shalt say to them: When you are entered into the land of Chanaan, and it shall be fallen into your possession by lot, it shall be bounded by these limits:
3 La région méridionale de votre domaine s'étendra à partir du désert de Cîn, qui confine à Edom.Votre frontière méridionale commencera du côté de l'orient à l'extrémité de la mer Salée.	3 The south side shall begin from the wilderness of Sin, which is by Edom: and shall have the most salt sea for its furthest limits eastward:
4 Puis elle obliquera au sud, vers la montée des Scorpions, passera par Cîn et aboutira au midi àCadès-Barné. Puis elle ira vers Haçar-Addar et passera par Açmôn.	4 Which limits shall go round on the south side by the ascent of the Scorpion and so into Senna, and reach toward the south as far as Cadesbarne, from whence the frontiers shall go out to the town called Adar, and shall reach as far as Asemona.
5 D'Açmôn, la frontière obliquera ensuite vers le Torrent d'Egypte et aboutira à la Mer.	5 And the limits shall fetch a compass from Asemona to the torrent of Egypt, and shall end in the shore of the great sea.
6 Vous aurez pour frontière maritime la Grande Mer; cette limite vous servira de frontière àl'occident.	6 And the west side shall begin from the great sea, and the same shall be the end thereof.
7 Et voici votre frontière septentrionale. Vous tracerez une ligne depuis la Grande Mer jusqu'à Hor-la-Montagne,	7 But toward the north side the borders shall begin from the great sea, reaching to the most high mountain,
8 puis de Hor-la-Montagne vous tracerez une ligne jusqu'à l'Entrée de Hamat, et la frontièreaboutira à Cedad.	8 From which they shall come to Emath, as far as the borders of Sedada:
9 Elle ira vers Ziphrôn et aboutira à Haçar-Enân. Elle sera votre frontière septentrionale.	9 nod the limits shall go as far as Zephrona, and the village of Enan. These shall be the borders on the north side.
10 Puis vous tracerez votre frontière orientale de Haçar-Enân à Shepham.	10 From thence they shall mark out the bounds towards the east side from the village of Enan unto Sephama.
11 La frontière descendra de Shepham vers Harbel, à l'orient de Ayîn. Descendant encore elletouchera la rive orientale de la mer de Kinnérèt.	11 And from Sephama the bounds shall go down to Rebla over against the fountain of Daphnis: from thence they shall come eastward to the sea of Cenereth,
12 La frontière suivra alors le Jourdain pour aboutir à la mer Salée. Tel sera votre pays avec lesfrontières qui en font le tour."	12 And shall reach as far as the Jordan, and at the last shall be closed in by the most salt sea. This shall be your land with its borders round about.
13 Moïse ordonna alors ceci aux Israélites: "Voici le pays que vous vous partagerez par le sort, etque Yahvé a prescrit de donner aux neuf tribus et à la demi-tribu.	13 And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying: This shall be the land which you shall possess by lot, and which the Lord hath commanded to be given to the nine tribes, and to the half tribe.
14 Car la tribu des fils de Ruben avec ses familles et la tribu des fils de Gad avec ses familles ontdéjà reçu leur héritage; la demi-tribu de Manassé a aussi reçu son héritage.	14 For the tribe of the children of Ruben by their families, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the number of their kindreds, and half of the tribe of Manasses,
15 Ces deux tribus et la demi-tribu ont reçu leur héritage au-delà du Jourdain de Jéricho, à l'orient,au levant."	15 That is, two tribes and a half, have received their portion beyond the Jordan over against Jericho at the east side.
16 Yahvé parla à Moïse et dit:	16 And the Lord said to Moses:
17 "Voici les noms des hommes qui vous partageront le pays: Eléazar le prêtre et Josué fils de Nûn,	17 These are the names of the men, that shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar the priest, and Josue the son of Nun,
18 et pour chaque tribu vous prendrez un prince pour le partage du pays.	18 And one prince of every tribe,
19 Voici les noms de ces hommes: Pour la tribu de Juda, Caleb, fils de Yephunné;	19 Whose names are these : Of the tribe of Juda, Caleb the son of Jephone.
20 pour la tribu des fils de Siméon, Shemuel, fils d'Ammihud;	20 Of the tribe of Simeon, Samuel the son of Ammiud.
21 pour la tribu de Benjamin, Elidad, fils de Kislôn;	21 Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chaselon.
22 pour la tribu des fils de Dan, le prince Buqqi, fils de Yogli;	22 Of the tribe of the children of Dan, Bocci the son of Jogli.
23 pour les fils de Joseph, pour la tribu des fils de Manassé, le prince Hanniel, fils d'Ephod;	23 Of the children of Joseph of the tribe of Manasses, Hanniel the son of Ephod.
24 et pour la tribu des fils d'Ephraïm, le prince Qemuel, fils de Shiphtân;	24 Of the tribe of Ephraim, Camuel the son of Sephtan.
25 pour la tribu de Zabulon, le prince Eliçaphân, fils de Parnak;	25 Of the tribe of Zabulon, Elisaphan the son of Pharnach.
26 pour la tribu des fils d'Issachar, le prince Paltiel, fils d'Azzân;	26 Of the tribe of Issachar, Phaltiel the prince, the son of Ozan.
27 pour la tribu des fils d'Asher, le prince Ahiud, fils de Shelomi;	27 Of the tribe of Aser, Ahiud the son of Salomi.
28 pour la tribu des fils de Nephtali, le prince Pedahel, fils d'Ammihud."	28 Of the tribe of Nephtali: Phedael the son of Ammiud.
29 Tels sont ceux à qui Yahvé ordonna d'assigner aux Israélites leur part d'héritage en terre deCanaan.	29 These are they whom the Lord hath commanded to divide the land of Chanaan to the children of Israel,.
