2 Corinthians 11

1 Would to God you could bear with some little of my folly: but do bear with me.	1 Oh se voleste sopportare da parte mia un po' di stoltezza! Ma sì, voi mi sopportate.
2 For I am jealous of you with the jealousy of God. For I have espoused you to one husband that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.	2 Sì, io sono geloso di voi della gelosia di Dio, poiché vi ho fidanzati a un solo sposo, per presentarvi a Cristo quale vergine pura.
3 But I fear lest, as the serpent seduced Eve by his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted, and fall from the simplicity that is in Christ.	3 E temo che, come il serpente con la sua astuzia sedusse Eva così le vostre menti non si lascino corrompere, traviando dalla sincerità e dalla purezza da serbare per Cristo.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Christ, whom we have not preached; or if you receive another Spirit, whom you have not received; or another gospel which you have not received; you might well bear with him.	4 Se infatti il primo venuto vi predica un altro Gesù, differente da quello che vi abbiamo predicato, oppure se ricevete uno spirito diverso da quello che avete ricevuto, o un evangelo differente da quello che avete accolto, voi lo tollerereste benissimo!
5 For I suppose that I have done nothing less than the great apostles.	5 E certamente ritengo di non essere per nulla inferiore a quegli arciapostoli.
6 For although I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but in all things we have been made manifest to you.	6 Che se anche sono rozzo in fatto di eloquenza, non lo sono però nella scienza; anzi, ve l’abbiamo manifestata in ogni maniera e in mezzo a tutti.
7 Or did I commit a fault, humbling myself, that you might be exalted? Because I preached unto you the gospel of God freely?	7 O forse ho commesso una colpa se, annunziandovi gratuitamente l’evangelo di Dio, mi sono umiliato per esaltare voi?
8 I have taken from other churches, receiving wages of them for your ministry.	8 Ho spogliato altre Chiese io che ho accettato un salario per poter esercitare il mio ministero presso di voi
9 And, when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was wanting to me, the brethren supplied who came from Macedonia; and in all things I have kept myself from being burthensome to you, and so I will keep myself.	9 e trovandomi da voi, e in necessità, non fui di peso a nessuno. Infatti alle mie necessità sopperirono i fratelli venuti dalla Macedonia e in ogni cosa mi guardai dall’esservi gravoso e ancora me ne guarderò.
10 The truth of Christ is in me, that this glorying shall not be broken off in me in the regions of Achaia.	10 Com’è vero che la verità di Cristo è in me, affermo che questo motivo di vanto non mi sarà precluso nelle regioni dell’Acaia.
11 Wherefore? Because I love you not? God knoweth it.	11 E perché? forse perché non vi amo? Ah, Dio lo sa!
12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off the occasion from them that desire occasion, that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.	12 Ma quello che faccio lo farò ancora, al fine di togliere ogni pretesto a coloro che cercano un’occasione per poter risultare, nella faccenda di cui si vantano, simili a noi.
13 For such false apostles are deceitful workmen, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.	13 Questi tali infatti son falsi apostoli, operai frodolenti, che si mascherano da apostoli di Cristo.
14 And no wonder: for Satan himself transformeth himself into an angel of light.	14 E ciò non fa meraviglia, poiché lo stesso Satana si trasfigura in angelo di luce.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers be transformed as the ministers of justice, whose end shall be according to their works.	15 Non è quindi gran cosa se anche i suoi ministri si mascherano da ministri di giustizia. La loro fine sarà conforme alle loro opere.
16 I say again, (let no man think me to be foolish, otherwise take me as one foolish, that I also may glory a little.)	16 Lo ripeto: nessuno mi tenga per stolto; se no, accettatemi pure come uno stolto, affinché possa anch’io vantarmi un pochino.
17 That which I speak, I speak not according to God, but as it were in foolishness, in this matter of glorying.	17 Quanto dico, non lo dico secondo la mente del Signore, ma quasi in istato di follia, in questo mio ardire di gloriarmi.
18 Seeing that many glory according to the flesh, I will glory also.	18 Dacchè molti si vantano secondo motivi umani, mi vanterò anch’io!
19 For you gladly suffer the foolish; whereas yourselves are wise.	19 Voi infatti, sapienti come siete, volentieri tollerate gli insensati!
20 For you suffer if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take from you, if a man be lifted up, if a man strike you on the face.	20 Sì, voi tollerate che uno vi riduca in schiavitù, che vi dissangui, che vi sfrutti, che si insuperbisca, che vi percuota in faccia!
21 I speak according to dishonour, as if we had been weak in this part. Wherein if any man dare (I speak foolishly), I dare also.	21 Devo dirlo a mia vergogna: mi sono mostrato un debole! Ma di tutto ciò di cui uno si fa forte — parlo naturalmente da stolto — anch’io posso farmi forte.
22 They are Hebrews: so am I. They are Israelites: so am I. They are the seed of Abraham: so am I.	22 Son essi Ebrei? Anch'io! Sono Israeliti? anch'io! Son discendenti di Abramo? anch'io!
23 They are the ministers of Christ (I speak as one less wise): I am more; in many more labours, in prisons more frequently, in stripes above measure, in deaths often.	23 Son ministri di Cristo? — parlo da uomo che vaneggia — io lo sono di più! Di più fui nei travagli; di più nelle prigioni; oltre modo di più sotto le battiture; spesso tra pericoli di morte.
24 Of the Jews five times did I receive forty stripes, save one.	24 Cinque volte ricevetti dai Giudei i quaranta colpi meno uno;
25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once I was stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I was in the depth of the sea.	25 tre volte fui battuto con le verghe; una volta fui lapidato; tre volte feci naufragio; ho passato un giorno e una notte in alto mare.
26 In journeying often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils from my own nation, in perils from the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils from false brethren.	26 Spesso fui in viaggi, in pericoli di fiumi, in pericoli dovuti ai briganti, in pericoli da parte di quei della mia stirpe; in pericoli da parte dei pagani, in pericoli nelle città, in pericoli nel deserto, in pericoli sul mare, in pericoli tra i falsi fratelli.
27 In labour and painfulness, in much watchings, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.	27 Mi trovai in travagli e dure fatiche; A frequenti veglie; nella fame e nella sete; sovente in digiuni, al freddo e in nudità.
28 Besides those things which are without: my daily instance, the solicitude for all the churches.	28 E oltre a ciò che per di più accade, c’è il quotidiano accorrere a me dei fedeli, la sollecitudine per tutte le Chiese.
29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is scandalized, and I am not on fire?	29 Chi è debole, e debole non lo sia anch’io con lui? Chi soffre scandalo senza che io non mi senta bruciare?
30 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things that concern my infirmity.	30 Se è proprio necessario gloriarsi, io mi vanterò della mia debolezza!
31 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed for ever, knoweth that I lie not.	31 Iddio, Padre del Signore Gesù, — sia egli per sempre lodato! — sa che non dico il falso.
32 At Damascus, the governor of the nation under Aretas the king, guarded the city of the Damascenes, to apprehend me.	32 A Damasco, l’etnarca del re Areta, volendosi impadronire di me, faceva sorvegliare la città dei Damasceni,
33 And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and so escaped his hands.	33 e io, per una finestra, fui calato giù entro un cesto lungo il muro e così sfuggii alle sue mani.
