1 Being justified therefore by faith, let us have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ:	1 Così dunque, giustificati in virtù della fede, noi siamo in pace con Dio grazie al Signore nostro, Gesù Cristo,
2 By whom also we have access through faith into this grace, wherein we stand, and glory in the hope of the glory of the sons of God.	2 il quale ci ha ottenuto di avere accesso, con la fede, a questa grazia in cui ci manteniamo, e di gloriarci nella speranza della gloria di Dio.
3 And not only so; but we glory also in tribulations, knowing that tribulation worketh patience;	3 E non di questo solamente ci gloriamo, bensì perfino delle nostre tribolazioni. Sappiamo infatti che la tribolazione è motivo di costanza,
4 And patience trial; and trial hope;	4 la costanza di virtù provata, la virtù provata di speranza;
5 And hope confoundeth not: because the charity of God is poured forth in our hearts, by the Holy Ghost, who is given to us.	5 quella speranza che non delude, perché l’amore di Dio è stato riversato nei nostri cuori per mezzo dello Spirito Santo elargitoci.
6 For why did Christ, when as yet we were weak, according to the time, die for the ungodly?	6 Cristo, infatti, è morto per gli empi nel tempo fissato, quando noi eravamo ancora degli impotenti.
7 For scarce for a just man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man some one would dare to die.	7 E a mala pena uno affronterebbe la morte per un giusto; in ogni caso, solo per un uomo buono si oserebbe anche affrontare la morte.
8 But God commendeth his charity towards us; because when as yet we were sinners, according to the time,	8 Ma Dio dimostra il suo amore verso di noi per il fatto che Cristo è morto per noi quando si era ancora peccatori.
9 Christ died for us; much more therefore, being now justified by his blood, shall we be saved from wrath through him.	9 A maggior ragione, quindi, ora. che siamo stati riconciliati nel suo sangue saremo salvi dall’ira divina per suo merito.
10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son; much more, being reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.	10 Se infatti fummo riconciliati con Dio meiante la morte del Figlio suo quando gli eravamo nemici, a più forte ragione ora, riconciliati ormai con lui, saremo salvi nella sua vita.
11 And not only so; but also we glory in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received reconciliation.	11 E non solo siamo riconciliati; ci gloriamo altresì in Dio per il Signore nostro, Gesù Cristo, grazie al quale abbiamo ora ottenuto la riconciliazione.
12 Wherefore as by one man sin entered into this world, and by sin death; and so death passed upon all men, in whom all have sinned.	12 È vero, per opera di un solo uomo il peccato entrò nel mondo e attraverso il peccato la morte; così la morte passò su tutti gli uomini, perché tutti peccarono...
13 For until the law sin was in the world; but sin was not imputed, when the law was not.	13 Infatti, fino alla legge vera nel mondo il peccato. Il peccato non viene imputato quando non v’è una legge;
14 But death reigned from Adam unto Moses, even over them also who have not sinned after the similitude of the transgression of Adam, who is a figure of him who was to come.	14 eppure la morte dominò da Adamo fino a Mosè, anche su quelli quindi che non avevano peccato come aveva peccato Adamo, — figura di colui che doveva venire.
15 But not as the offence, so also the gift. For if by the offence of one, many died; much more the grace of God, and the gift, by the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.	15 Ma il fallo non è pari al dono. Se per il fallo di uno solo gli altri morirono, con quanta più abbondanza si riversò su tutti gli altri la grazia di Dio e il dono conferito per merito di un solo uomo, Gesù Cristo.
16 And not as it was by one sin, so also is the gift. For judgment indeed was by one unto condemnation; but grace is of many offences, unto justification.	16 No, non è pareggiato il dono dagli effetti del peccato commesso da uno solo; poiché il giudizio che tenne dietro a quel solo peccato si conchiuse con una condanna; ma l’opera di grazia che venne dopo le tante colpe si conchiuse con la giustificazione.
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned through one; much more they who receive abundance of grace, and of the gift, and of justice, shall reign in life through one, Jesus Christ.	17 Se, per il fallo di uno solo, la morte regnò per opera di quel solo, con quanta maggior ragione regneranno nella vita per opera del solo Gesù Cristo quelli che ricevono l’abbondanza della grazia e il dono della giustizia.
18 Therefore, as by the offence of one, unto all men to condemnation; so also by the justice of one, unto all men to justification of life.	18 Così, come per la colpa di uno solo ricadde su tutti gli uomini una condanna, pure per l’opera di giustizia di uno solo perviene a tutti gli uomini la giustificazione che dà la vita.
19 For as by the disobedience of one man, many were made sinners; so also by the obedience of one, many shall be made just.	19 Per la disobbedienza di un solo uomo gli altri furono costituiti peccatori, per l’obbedienza di uno solo gli altri sono costituiti giusti.
20 Now the law entered in, that sin might abound. And where sin abounded, grace did more abound.	20 La legge, è vero, soprabbondò perché la colpa si moltiplicasse; ma dove abbondò il peccato sovrabbondò a sua volta la grazia,
21 That as sin hath reigned to death; so also grace might reign by justice unto life everlasting, through Jesus Christ our Lord.	21 onde anche la grazia, come il peccato regnò per meézzo della morte, regni ora, mediante la giustizia, in vita eterna per opera di Gesù Cristo, nostro Signore.
